  1. QUOTE(danman31 @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) To be fair the argument isn't talent, it's experience. Carolina is every bit as young as Duke. That argument does not hold water either.
  2. I know Illinois has really came hard to sign E'twaun "schmoove" Moore. He really has no leader and some schools like Georgia Tech, Mich. ST. Ohio ST. and UCONN are sniffing around hard now. Tennesee, Illinois, Pudrue, Indiana, Cincy, Miami (Fla), & Iowa all are pushing for an early sign, but there is little chance of that until after the summer. He has been blowing up already and has seen his rivals ranking soar to #30 overall. From talking to him and others at E.C. Central I get the feeling that he likes Tennesee with their style and Pearl, but all bets are off with his improved jump shot being displayed this summer.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) Wow, they lost to Huntington? That's a D3 team :0 This year will be great, since my Tarheels are National Champs. I know it will be a rebuilding year, but that's fine since we rule the college hoop world in '05. The recruiting class coming in is argueably the best of all time also, so even with a sub par year we will be back. HEELS & SOX CHAMPIOINS IN 2005! DAMN:headbang
  4. I was a sub-par 9-10 this year. A dismal 1-3 through the Indians and first game against the Twins down the stretch.
  5. QUOTE(Spiff @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) Because a great deal of the population is not intelligent. Last year the A.C.C., but Big East is close. Nobody else compares! Remember the reigning national champs blowing through the best the little ten had to offer Wis., Mich. St., then Ill.) Wow great memories, go Heels!!!!!!!! It will be a rebuilding year in Chapal Hill, but the rest of the league will be solid. Hopefully the Heels will too by the end of the year. The Big East looks like a monster this year! The N.B.A. sure loved the A.C.C. talent last year in the first round, so it 's time to reload. Duke has great recruiting class, and UNC has great commitments for next year so lookl out.
  6. I'm very confident! We will be playing in October! "I'm in there like swim wear"
  7. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) Detroit's defense is terrible...one of the absolute worst in the NFL. They make the Redskins look like the Steel Curtain. Yes, the Packers are that bad if they could only put up 3 points against this squad: DE: HOLE DT: Marcus Bell (Solid) DT: Shaun Rogers (All-Pro Caliber) DE: James Hall (Solid) OLB: Boss Bailey (Solid) MLB: HOLE OLB: HOLE CB: Fernando Bryant (Solid) CB: Dre Bly (Solid) SS: Kenoy Kennedy (Solid) FS: HOLE In theory, you should be able to pass all day against this team and run for a lot of yards outside of the DEs. But the Bears offense would have a hard time against some NFL Europe teams, so a win is nowhere near a sure thing. I don't care where thier weaknesses are. With a rookie QB running the show we better be able to establish a running game or we have very little chance. Solid DEE and ball control running is our best shot at a win Sunday!
  8. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Sure, but if he stinks it up again saturday, he needs to hit the pen. We need to win to get this thing...Cleveland just won't die.... I agree, and Ozzie seems to be one that won't let this go to far , if he continues to struggle. El Duque is headed for the pen in the playoffs anyway.
  9. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) Yeah, I couldn't believe he said 1 bad outing...the guy has an ERA over 5...that equals plenty of bad outings. There is plenty to be said with getting the most out of your players. Throwing the guys that have batttled all season to get you to this point out like the trash can have very negative effects, both now and in the future for Ozzie. I have no problem with El Duque going out next start. The intangables of coaching can have a big effect on a teams preformance.
  10. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Right you are they ban people for everything over there I got banned because my brother did :puke There is a wider variety of opinions that are accepted here. The mods are a bit pompous & sensative at the other site. Overall it just shows that there are plenty of Sox fans out there so congrats Soxtalk on the sucsess.
  11. There are some good knowlegable posters there. Some mods are just pollyanna asses though. They only want to hear comments that reflect their way of thinking. If it makes them feel good to arbitrarily boot people, so be it. I agree that it is a very cublike way of thinking! It's all good about the team or your a troll.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) She's 80 years old. She let her real feelings slip out thats all. Not a surprise she feels that way, just that she said it out loud. Screw her and her ilk!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. B & B are horrible! A couple of no talent loudmouths with very little sports knowledge, blabbering away like a couple of twelve year olds and giggeling to each other. I hate that they steal airtime from sportstalk!!!!
  14. North Carolina. It's great to lead the football team to the promised land. I only get to see the hoop squad do in in real life, but that is where my alligence to Carolina started. GO HEELS!!!!!
  15. QUOTE(shoelessinva @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) I am going to 1 or 2 games in the Sox vs. O's series at Camden and wondered if any other transplanted Chicagoans in the VA/MD area will also be attending. Maybe we could try to do drinks somewhere in club level or another part of Camden and relish the Soxcess of this season together. And, what a great opp to give it to Juice/Cork Boy Sammy! BTW, I'll be sporting the Sox cap at the Nats/Mets game tomorrow (7/7) if anyone is interested or going to that game. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO TIP YOUR BEERMAN!!! I'll be there Friday & Saturday. Always happy to see Sox fans on the road. I'll have a throwback LOL Ray Durham jersey on for one of the games.
  16. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) I definitely agree because both numbers are becoming more difficult to reach. I don't think we'll see more than 2 or 3 guys get the homers, and the same for the steals. It's seems extremely unlikely that someone will hit both of those milestones. Eric Davis had 30/80 in his early days with the Reds
  17. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) I saw that play on SC. Estrada got layed out. I hope he's o.k., but I too see nothing wrong in was Erstad did. Good play by Erstad, the Braves were pissed because they beleived Erstad had room to slide , as Estrada was not blocking his path, but it was a close enough play that Erstad had to make his decision and go with it. Hope Estrada is not badly hurt, but it is part of the game.
  18. QUOTE(JuiceCruz16 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 08:41 AM) Who would you like Gary Glover to replace on this staff. Glover > then nobody currently pitching for the Sox!
  19. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 07:47 AM) LEts see if Mike JAckson will come out of retirement. He really helped us nail down victories last year.
  20. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) *cough* 73 HR *cough* huge increase in head and body size *cough* Jose Canseco was the first to make 40/40. Willie Mays was quoted that if he knew they would make such a big deal out of 40/40, he would have done it about 5 or 6 times.
  21. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) PEOPLE! Read what I put. FRANK'S THUNDER-STRUCK INTRO WAS NOT A LOUD AS BUEHRLE'S ITS THAT EASY. OFCORSE FRANK'S OVATION WAS LOUDER WHEN HE CAME TO BAT, THATS CUZ BUEHRLE DOESNT BAT. Maybe if you were at the game you would know. I was at the game and Frank's seemed louder to me, during the Thunder-struck intro.
  22. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ May 25, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Thats impressive no matter if Oden is there or not. I'm sure I would know the team when I heard it. I can't find any possiblities right now though. It sounds like your talking about F.Y.I. out of Gary. Is your freind the 6'6 soph. from Valpo? Anyway F.Y.I. is ranked #8 last I checked, while Speice was #2. Illinois Warriors with Collins & Schyere (spelling? LOL) was #16.
