  1. I'd rather have Borchard batting 3rd today than Carl.
  2. I have a feeling we will get to Santana tonight.
  3. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) All righties tonight: Per MJ&H: Ozuna LF Iguchi- 2B Everett DH Konerko 1B Rowand CF Dye RF Uribe SS Widger C Crede 3B Looking out the window at work. Winds very strong from the north. All those righties better not be pulling or we'll see a bunch of short flies to right.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) I have to say this "where would he play?" Drop him down to 5th or 6th in the lineup. He can still be the DH since we really have no one else to do that.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) And he's in a massive slump also. Even when he's hitting decent, he was still a below average 3 hitter. The guy had a very good April. That's all he's really done IMO. Doesn't mean he should still be batting 3rd in September.
  6. And Ozzie continues to bat Carl 3rd for some reason. Mind-boggling. The worst #3 hitter out of all the playoff contenders.
  7. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) The only move I question tonight was Vizcaino instead of Pollite. I still question why Cotts is never used for more than 2 batters. He could have come out for another inning and faced Haffner instead of Marte.
  8. What a complete disgrace. This is unprecedented.
  9. I'm so glad I wasn't able to get playoff tickets today. What a waste of money that would have been.
  10. Ridiculous...i was able to get in at 12 exactly and my search for 4 tix came up with "none available".
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Good job Viz! Sarcasm? What happened? I don't have the game on.
  12. I'm still waiting for Dye to get his chance to bat 3rd or 4th. He deserves it. Carl should be hitting 6th.
  13. I've been trying very hard to stay positive lately but I can't help but to feel that this team will inevitably let me down. Aside from a few small stretches where we beat up on some mediocre teams, the Sox have looked very beatable since the A's series right before the All Star Break. As much as I try to forget about the uninspiring last couple of months in 2000 this just seems like deja vu. I hope they prove me wrong but I don't have a ton of confidence in this team right now. I'm not trying to be mr negative. Just sharing my feelings. I still love this team.
  14. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) This is a very frustrating weekend so far. The White Sox gave away the game last night, losing right now today, and who knows about tomorrow. My favorite college football team Michigan is injured, playing sucky, and not having anything go their way will lose to Notre Dame, and I'm sure the Chiefs will find a way to lose to the Jets tomorrow. I feel your pain. My Raiders blew dog while I sat and watched Garcia give the game away on Thursday. Hopefully Peyton Manning will have a monster day for my fantasy team tomorrow.
  15. Back-to-back lousy performances by our supposed best 2 pitchers. I guess we can find room for McCarthy since Jon and Mark's Cy Young chances are slipping away fast. Give them some rest.
  16. I'm glad I missed most of this game. I think I'll miss the rest of it while I'm at it.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Blum had a chance to win some fans tonight and get the hit in extras to win it. He didn't. Don't like him. We had like 8 hits in 11 or 12 innings. You're going to blame this on Blum? I'm not the biggest fan of his but come on. Besides, he had more hits tonight than Iguchi and Everett combined.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) I'm not a big fan of Bum, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that Joe Borchard is preferable. He was suggesting pinch-hitting Borchard for Dye.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) OZZIEBALL! More of a myth than those pesky Dinosaurs. We've been outsmartballed 2 games in a row now. The suicide yesterday by KC and the gutsy bunt and run from 2nd today.

QUOTE(lord chas @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) yep borchard should have pinch hit for dye. if ozzie wouldnt use him why even bring him up Huh?!? Are you serious? Why??
  21. We are now 0-6 in extra innings at home. Not good for a team most likely to get homefield advantage.
  22. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Dye ain't no star, either. Dye is hitting for better average and has more HRs than Carl. I think that's enough reason to bat him 3rd.
  23. Enough of the Everett bashing. He's not the reason we lost today....well he's part of it. But Mark should have done better.
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) He's really been brutal especially from the left side lately. He has no business batting third. The worst #3 hitter among playoff contenders.
