  1. Just pre-ordered MLB 2k8. Supposedly the fielding and running mechanics have been re-done, as well as the pitching. Power swings are gone and its all timing now. Guy who was the head of the MVP franchise headed this development, and from what I hear it will be way better than 2k7. I'll let you all know tomorrow night. MLB 2k8 Advancements and Enhancements
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) I'd say the only thing Kane has on Toews is his vision. Toews is better in the corners, better in his own end, better in front of the net, faster and has a better wrist-shot. I understand some of those are subjective -- especially the last two -- but I'd take Toews in all of those areas. I'm not meaning to s*** on Kane, either -- I hope both #19 and 88 are here for the next 15+ years -- but it'd be difficult for me to put Kane on the same level (or better) than Toews. The stats back this up, as Toews has a slightly better PPG, and I don't think we need to discuss who brings more to the defensive end. Toews is the better player, you're right, but I think they are close enough to be on the same level. They remind me a lot of Sakic and Forsberg as teammates in their first Cup run and "dynasty" era... where Kane is the Sakic finesse-type and Toews is the Forsberg power forward-type. Both bring different aspects to the game, and on the same team are dynamite. PS. f***ing Havlat! We all knew this would happen...
  3. Post Dominican Republic Update This one hurts. I knew I'd be gaining on the all-inclusive trip, and I did, back up to an even 200... was at 195, now at 200... might as well just consider it starting over and here I go.
  4. Thanks guys. Just got back in the swing of things... left on my birthday for Punta Cana Dominican Republic and most definitely partied it up! Most appreciated!
  5. Just back from the Dominican Republic, wanted to chime in on the Ladd deal. I think it's great for the Hawks, really underrated. Yeah, I like Ruutu, but I think he had leveled off as a player. Ladd comes in with some pretty sick scoring ability (yet another top 5 draft pick on the Blackhawks)... he's also a perfect fit on a line with Kane and Toews. Sure, Ruutu will light it up in Carolina (hell, look at Samsonov), but in the end, I think this winds up as a deal that's good for both quads.
  6. What do we do with this?
  7. Here we f***in go! Toews baby!
  8. Nice little sequence there for 2 quick goals!
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) The Bulls traded for him on July 13th, 2006 and then traded him away July 19th........hard to be an asshole and make people believe you don't want to be somewhere in under a week. Dude, we got him for Tyson, whom Pax basically wanted to drop, and then found Denver a willing taker for Smith, whom we wanted no part of... He had a great game tonight, but he'd bring NOTHING to a Bulls team with Gordon already as their 6th man monster.
  10. That game rocked.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) So when exactly do you want the Sox to make their Home Opener? June? The Sox home opener in '05 (April 4th) is still one of the most pleasant games I've ever attended. I was there and I agree. Scored our only run on an error, Mark Buehrle got the win, Shingo with the gong save. It was a beautiful day.
  12. QUOTE(Reddy @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) What do you guys think of this: Wright for Braun and Jenks I have Wright, and could use the saves.... I'd jump all over that s***. You get a top 3 closer and someone who when all is said and done could have a better season than Wright...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) I completely missed it! Who was it??? Yeah, I didn't watch the recap either... clue us in?
  14. 195 HOwever, an all inclusive vacation all next week will probably put me back at square one. It's a vacation, so I won't be holding back.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) I dont think it is Locke, he will never leave the island. Dude, you don't read the posts do you. Same problem happened with you before. Charlie = dead. Locke will = dead. It will be his BODY. Hence FUNERAL.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 09:02 AM) Also, why does Kate keeping taking s*** from Locke? She could break his old ass in two, yet she keep submitting to him when he tells her what she can and can't do. Might have something to do with the gun in his pocket...

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) Me and my wife were arguing about the Aaron v. Eric. Stop the Aaron vs. Eric argument. Even the episode with captions on confirms its "Aaron."

QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 01:19 AM) I know. But as I said, I'm wondering who the rest of the world has been lead to believe the other two people who survived the crash were. Since Jack said there were eight. Possibly Charlie is one of them, because he really is dead, and could not be brought back during the rescue. It's Locke who is the second dead one. I believe it was his funeral they were at in a previous flash forward.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) or shes left on the island. Nice. Left on the island. She's dead if she leaves, right?
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/play..._free&_mp=1 Then click the Harrelson commercial on the right. It was...okay. It may not be some weirdass cartoon from the Internet KNIGHTNI, but it was pretty damned funny if you ask me.
  21. I really can't agree with Omar Minaya on this list. He has a HUGE payroll and couldn't even win the WC in the NL, and has had a huge payroll since he took over. Seriously, he could have gotten much more for Lastings Milledge had he dealt him at the correct time.
  22. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 08:59 AM) http://heylarryhughespleasestoptakingsomanybadshots.com/ That's some pretty funny reading. Every article is hilarious.
  23. I have to say I'm intrigued. Two glass players for a young stud like Staal. I'd lean towards pulling the trigger, while trying to squeeze a tad more out... Havlat's salary and injury history alone make this intriguing, Ruutu also makes decent coin (I believe the two of them together break 9 mill)... Staal has limitless potential as the 2nd overall pick just 2 years ago (one pick ahead of one Jonathan Toews)... he'd fit really well on a club looking for top end talent to put with Toews/Kane. Seriously, 3 guys under 20 in Jordan Staal, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane has future Stanley Cup Champs written all over it. According to another site the proposed trade is Jordan Stall and Ryan Lannon (D) for Ruutu/Havlat. Staal and Toews played together in the Men's WHC.
  24. I think that's the most honestly I've ever heard out of Kirk Hinrich. He seems to be pumped with this deal... perhaps this can really get the team rolling in more ways than one?
