2012-2013 Official NHL thread

So we head back to what was dominating the LA Kings and should have never changed. In the shootaround. Bickell - Toews - Kane Sharp - Handzus - Mayers Hossa Saad - Shaw - Stalberg Kruger - Bolland - Frolik Those top 3 lines are just ridiculous. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) I'd buy that for a dollar This is like my favorite quote ever.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Can we get back to the real debate here? Should Lebron where a headband or not?! Someone start a poll. Don't you worry, they asked him in a media session just 30 minutes ago - and the headband will be worn!
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 01:34 PM) So we are looking at a decent chance that New England doesnt have Hernandez AND Gronkowski next season for a period of time. You have to wonder how that offense will look, including Welker every one of Bradys security blankets have been removed.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) I pretty much said the exact same thing yesterday (probably more than once). At least in his current state, they're much better served putting Lebron out there with Allen, Miller and Chalmers. With 100% Wade, it doesn't really matter because they have two wings that are impossible to stop on the drive. Sorry, I missed those posts. You clearly are smart as you agree with me.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) Like you don't already do that 7 times a day. I will reserve the semen reservoir for such a moment. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 12:11 PM) Hossa will have 3 points tonight. 1 goal and 2 assists. I will masturbate if this comes to fruition. -
A previously elusive figure in the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal has spoken out, saying clinic founder Anthony Bosch visited Alex Rodriguez during last year's American League Championship Series after the New York Yankees slugger sought his help amid a 1-for-9 slump. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id...esis-crony-says

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 10:51 AM) Agreed, though I'd feel better about the whole thing if he took the morning skate. Hossa will play. He will not be 100%. -
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 11:37 AM) You can't really say WAY more talented given their current opponent and the constant questions about Wade's knee. If Wade's not playing like a top-10 player, they're vulnerable against a team as good as the Spurs. That's supposed to be their big edge, but Wade has really only had one dominant game in the last two series. If he's going to score 15 a game on mediocre percentages, that puts a ton of pressure on Lebron. I think they're a more dangerous team when Wade's not on the floor. He can't shoot for s***. When they can space the floor like mad with 3 point monsters, then LeBron just debases anyone down low.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 11:00 AM) OK, I'll shoot. What's the argument? I'd imagine he's referencing the massive infrastructure issues within Chicago. A nice review of some of the issues in this older article. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/...out-washington/

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) Showtime has put the Ray Donovan pilot up on Youtube for free. I think I'll watch it again. It didn't blow me away, and it was pretty slow at times, but I find his job really interesting, and that girl w/ epilepsy is a BAAAAAABE. I'll wait for the "R" version on Showtime in two weeks.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) The decision that no one is talking about was the review of the Allen three at the end of regulation. In that situation, the easiest way for the Spurs to score is to inbound and go before Miami can set its defense and hope to get a good look in semi transition. As neither team had a timeout, that review gave the Heat the ability to set their defense without the ball being advanced. So are you suggesting that the Spurs would have been better off with no review? Pops was calling for the damn thing, and it NEEDED to be reviewed. Also, Van Gundy pointed out that it also gave the Spurs time to draw up a play. People need to stop spinning everything just to hate on the Heat and the refs.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:43 AM) Somehwat relevant, I don't think you can trust Manu right now, as he played terrible again. Game 7 is going to fall on him a lot. LBJ, Duncan, Parker, and to some extent Bosh and Wade will get their's, but if Manu shows up, it's going to be tough for Miami to do much. Manu is "losing it" in front of us in real-time on the biggest stage. He's a turnover machine providing very few sparks on offense (save game 5). If I'm Poppovich, I bench him with very little thought for Game 7.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) I had no problem with them as no-calls, but the refs missed two pretty blatant fouls on the Spurs last two possessions. Bosh hacked Green on that last play too. And the Spurs got away with some blantant hacks too. For the most part, they let them play on both ends, and that's what we'd all want to see if it didn't involve the Heat. Everyone needs to pull away from the Heat hate and just enjoy a great game.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:12 AM) 2/10 This. My excuse is that I need to drink to watch the White Sox anymore.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:42 AM) Of course LeBron taking the headband off didn't really mean anything. One, he just looks strange without it (lol@that hairline). Two, you could see a guy that was just desperate and said f*** it. Totally unlike '11 when he looked like he pretty much gave up. It was like watching Grandmama actually dominate an NBA game.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:39 AM) Tonight's game and the rest of the series is on NBC and not the cable channel. Oh thank Christ. It was so impossible to find. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:22 AM) I can admit a great game when I see one, but you're lying to yourself if you say that Miami deserved it. They choked too, the Spurs just choked worse. LeBron losing his headband is going to be talked about forever too, which is STUPID. My buddy texted me about it and I responded with "That's because he's heroic. Jordan scored a million points with food poisoning, Kirk Gibson homered on one leg, and LeBron took over in the 4th quarter without his headband." To the first point - how do they not deserve it? They won the game. Ray Allen nailed a stupid-good shot to send it to OT. The Spurs choked/the Heat choked/the Spurs choked. In the end, the Heat won it. For the second part, LeBron losing his headband is already forgotten about - it was just funny. No one anywhere is going to compare this to the flu game or Kirk Gibson on one leg.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:03 PM) We don't disagree much, but I disagree with you here. Q is far from a free pass at this point just because they are in the final. Knowing there was a good chance Hossa may not play, and not even having Smith take the warm up (while Mayers did) is completely inexcusable. That's just awful. Kane comes out of his slump against the Kings while reunited with Toews. What happens? Splits them up against Boston (something you even said would be stupid when the lines were introduced in practice before game 1). And neither guy has played too well. Haven't scored a goal in what, 6 periods worth? Here's an idea...88+19. Hossa out last night, puts Toews with Kruger and Frolik? WTF was that? Power play is garbage. Yes it's Kompon's job, in theory, but Q's the head coach, and they are 0 for their last 84. Plays Bollig, his f***up leads to a GWG. ***** I'm not blaming everything on him, but there's plenty to take issue with here. This all sucks, and is all garbage that you or I have already pointed out ad nauseum, but it also does not = the hot seat. EDIT: At least not in my eyes. We'll see how I feel after Game 4 tonight. If only I can find NBCSN. -
There's a lot of HEAT HATE around here, but man, that game was an all-timer. That said - Heat fans of course left early, we all noticed it on the Manu free throws. Here's a wonderful compilation by Deadspin, including some great tweets from an area reporter just disgusted with the Heat "faithful". Enjoy. http://deadspin.com/hundreds-of-heat-fans-...-laug-514254371

This is stupid.

Game, b****es. f*** off Heat and LeBron and Wade. There go all the Heat "fans".

Tony Parker has now f***ed Brent Barry's wife and the Heat.
