Get Manu off the court!
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 08:44 PM) I'll say it again. This pace incredible. I'm gettin' dizzy watchin' this s***. Manu has decided to slow things down.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) Wait, what. That sounds awesome. It was.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 01:40 PM) If you walked down the street right now and asked random people about Snowden and the NSA, you'd be lucky if 2 in 10 knew anything about it, and you'd be even luckier if either person knew more than, "Yea, I heard about something like that..." However, if you ask them to name the cast of Jersey Shore, or who the current Bachlorette, or who just had a baby in hollywood, I'm sure 8/10 would know those answers. Here I thought my grandfather was dead. Instead, he faked his death and has continued on posting on Soxtalk.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) Anything new coming out on the radio waves out there in regards to Hossa? The latest is that the team knew he'd be out well before the pregame skate. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) For you "real" Blackhawk fans, at what point does Coach Q start to get heat for their atrocious power play numbers? 1 shot in 5 power plays. It's been like that for most of the season but it's been especially bad in the playoffs. I'd prefer they commit a penalty and go 4-4 instead of trying 5-4. His team's in the Stanley Cup Final for the 2nd time in 4 playoffs. He's free of heat for a bit. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 08:22 AM) In NBA 2k12 last night, my dude put up 67 points, 9 boards, 11 assists, 11 steals, and 2 blocks last night on 68% shooting (66.7% from 3) last night against the Bulls. Needless to say, we won by 35. Tell me again. When did you play this game?

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:46 AM) A truly elite regular season scorer needs to be more than just his team's tallest midget. His career playoff point totals are down more than 20% from his regular season numbers. Even accounting for tighter playoff contests, that's a big drop. To me, he has seemed hard to find out there on a lot of his shifts. I'm frustrated, obviously, after last night, but he needs to play in the Finals and play better than he has. We're dealing with the current version of Marian Hossa. He's not now nor will he ever be again the sprightly young chap that lit the league up for 192 points in 162 games over his first two seasons with the "we don't care about defense Thrashers". His 15 points in 19 playoff games (0.79 ppg) is actually higher than his regular season (31/40 - .775 ppg). Given the Blackhawks have played formidable goaltenders and neutral zone trappy teams like the Wild, Kings, and Bruins - while facing a surprisingly stellar Jimmy Howard in the other series - I'd say he's been the least of our worries. Actually, I'll go ahead and say while providing stellar defensive play as one of the league's top two-way forwards while leading our team in points, he's been our best player. But you're right. No big deal. -

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) Unfortunately, he's been missing for a while now, which has been his m.o. in the playoffs most of his career. Yeah, ok, except for the fact that he's tied for the team lead in points in this playoffs. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 08:40 AM) I recommend Pines if you have time. The first two acts are really good. The 3rd is sort of slow and less interesting but doesn't ruin the film. I'll wait for HBO or Netflix, but then likely check it out. Thanks for the recommend.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 08:05 AM) Nobody attacked you, I merely called you out for being a hypocrite, and then I said the XBox Done name is terrible. Joe sometimes takes things too seriously. That wasn't an "attack", it was just an argument. That's what the internet message board world exists for, clearly. Let's just all agree that XBOX has blown since the 360 days and move along.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 05:21 AM) Easy to get that impression from the trailers. Only way I knew about the strict 3 act structure was because a guy I work with had read the book years ago and informed me. I haven't seen the movie, but my thoughts going into it would have been exactly as Joe describes. I am now quite a bit less interested in it despite both of those actors being great. I still need to watch 'Silver Linings Playbook' again. The wife and I adored that movie.

I retract my earlier statements. I wish we'd have played the Penguins. These freaks aren't f***ing around. Also, that call was weak. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 01:38 AM) Just bought a nearly 4-year-old Sony Vaio off a friend of mine....for $20. I was originally going to pay $75 for it. Then he decided before he was going to give it to me that he would wipe the harddrive......which deletes the operating system....which he lost the disc/key for (He upgraded it from Vista to Windows 7). So he said he'd go buy a student version of Win7 when he went down to IU for $20, so I agreed to throw in $5 to be nice. Now the price is at $80. Well he tries the new disc, and finds out it won't work, because it's an UPGRADE disc, one that requires an OS be on the system to upgrade, well there is no OS on it since he wiped it and lost the install disc/key. So frustrated that he thinks he just bricked the system, he says I can take it off his hands for $20, and then buy my own OS for it, then use his upgrade disc to make it Windows 7. What he didn't realize is that the product key for his Vista OS, which is what came on the computer, is on a sticker on the bottom of his computer. So I simply found MY windows Vista disc from my other laptop, put it in the computer, changed the BIOS settings to have it boot from my disc, installed Windows Vista using his old product key. Then, because it at that point had an OS on it, put in the Win7 disc, installed Win7, upgrading the OS from 32-bit to 64-bit, and BOOM, got a pretty nice Sony Vaio laptop for $20. Sometimes it really pays to know more than your friends about technology and computers. It's a shame too because I gave him every chance to fix the problem himself, and then sell it to me for $80, but he was too lazy and just wanted the computer gone. I'd have to imagine you have very few "friends". I'd never screw over someone I consider my friend who's already giving me a deal.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 06:19 PM) Wil Myers has been called up by the Rays. Ryan Roberts optioned. My fantasy team no one cares about has been holding him all season.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 06:46 PM) Huge win for Boston, they need to start rebuilding quick. The Clippers are preparing to move on without Doc Rivers and could offer their coaching job to Lionel Hollins or Brian Shaw.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 01:13 PM) If it keeps CP3, then it rapidly becomes a win for the Clips too though. This, absolutely. What's the deal with this Griffin/Dwight rumor that was on Sportscenter this am?

f*** f*** f*** f*** The Blackhawks should have been up 6-0 after the 1st. The Bruins stole this one. Oh, and Q, thanks for Bollig. He was helpful tonight. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 02:39 AM) I have been playing way too conservatively. I take forever when I have to clear out a room of infected. It seems like the kind of game you need to learn by failing in terms of what strategies are most effective. The game is a completely new experience.

J4L makes a valid point. My hatred of bad White Sox players has turned into a PHT curmudgeon. Nothing personal was meant, but dude is right.
