QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:41 AM) How'd it go yesterday? Extremely well, unfortunately there will be a two-week wait as the other two jamokes they are interviewing are scheduled out that far. I'm pessimistic when it comes to this type of stuff, and I'd be shocked if I don't get an offer. That said. Who the f knows when it comes to interviewing.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:33 AM) Hockey players celebrate better than any other sport. There is no doubt to this.
  3. Of course you shop Reed. If you can get any sort of value for a relief pitcher, you always do it. I screamed this about Bobby Jenks, and then as relievers tend to do he fell apart. Don't give Reed away - but trade him if there's value coming back.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) Do you even live in this city? One must remember that J4L loves to troll. It's best for us all to just stop feeding him and he'll stop posting nonsense.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:12 AM) Are you serious? 2005 was not THAT long ago, dude. That run dwarfed any of this hockey stuff. Maybe in your mind. In the way the city celebrates it and the media covers it the Blackhawks are much better received.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 08:51 AM) Unfortunately, it's the one Chicago team nobody gives a s*** about. The Chicago Blackhawks have a sellout streak that dates back to the final three games of the 2007-2008 season. Yup, no one cares. Talk about something you actually have a clue in - if such a topic exists.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 01:10 AM) The Blackhawks showed tonight they have the will to win, actually showing some heart and finishing off an opponent. Yet I'd rather call it 'heart' than a stupid line like TWTW. Heart translates a lot better in hockey.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 11:04 AM) It went great. Came home with the car, she was all oogling over it and wanted to sit in the driver's seat and had this big smile on her face. I got down on a knee and said my little spiel. She was totally surprised, and very, very happy. We went out last night and celebrated with some friends of ours and had a great evening. Thanks for asking! Congrats!
  9. Andrew Shaw is F*ckin' Excited to Be Holding the F*ckin' Stanley Cup.
  10. That was, seriously, the most ridiculous end to a sports game I have ever seen. That type of amazing, clutch s*** just does not happen. Geoff Blum previously held the "omg that just happened" play of my lifetime, and that has now been handed over to the tandem of Bickell and Bolland. Twenty four undefeated games to start the season combined with the ridiculous comeback against the hated Red Wings AND the downing of the "unstoppable" Jonathan Quick and Tuuka Rask = best.season.ever. Eat s***, Bruins. See you turds on Friday.
  11. I'm pretty sure Niklas Hjalmarsson broke his arm at the end of that period.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Mark Prior laughs at the thought of being injury proof. LOOK AT HOW THICK HIS CALVES ARE HE'S INDESTRUCTIBLE.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) mid-90s & humid in Boston today, expect the ice to be extra s***ty tonight I also expect flies all over the overhead cameras. That place is apparently quite disgusting. The flies drive me nuts!
  14. Oh, guys. You're falling for the bs rumor mill. Big trades involving the Chicago Bulls do not happen. Trading Deng for a pick and cap relief would be too magical.
  15. I'd settle for Derrick Rose actually playing next season.
  16. I can't see the Chicago Bulls making a meaningful trade.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 12:49 PM) Toews said he feels 100% and will play. I'm rock hard.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 09:21 AM) There was a foreign basketball, Slobodan Jankovic,(playing in Greece)that was playing in their championship game. They were losing and he was called for a foul, he lost his temper and he grabbed the base of the hoop and rammed his head into it, and broke his neck. I nominate that number one. http://www.nytimes.com/1993/04/30/sports/s...ming-block.html He is in a wheelchair now Jesus.
  19. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) If it's a concussion issue, no way he should play tomorrow, and likely not game 7 either. It sucks, but you can't mess around with it. He already said this year that last year he shouldn't have been playing in the playoffs. I'm hoping it's a neck injury or something that he can just play through, but I'll be pretty pissed off if he does have a concussion and they let him play. This shouldn't/can't be his choice. I don't care what he wants to do. See: Crosby, Sidney. If they do the bolded, that's completely f***ing stupid. Obviously. I was just pointing out that he probably has a concussion.

I'm absolutely elated for the season finales of Mad Men and the best comedy on television that no one talks about in VEEP. Last week's VEEP was one of the best half hours of comedy ever.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) Stay classy, Rask. God just finish these f***s off tomorrow night.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) Symptoms
  23. Hawks game was great last night. Clearly Toews showed concussion syndromes after getting rattled all night. He wanted to come back in, but they wouldn't let him. I wonder if they will play him regardless of whether he passes any tests. Also a key, he's missed SIGNIFICANT time previously due to concussions. Hopefully this is not an injury that shapes his long-term future.
