QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 03:08 PM) Coming into that series, their run differential and the Sox run differential were about the same. I think the Sox may have been a run or 2 better. So completely inaccurate. But keep throwing garbage at the wall and hope no one calls you out on it.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) North America is so freaking fantastic. Indeed. Tom Selleck was such a perfect choice for narration, too.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) Splitter started 58 games this season and 11 of the 12 games he's played in the post-season (he missed some time against the Warriors due to an ankle sprain). Their usual bench is Manu, Gary Neal, Matt Bonner, Corey Joseph and Boris Diaw. Ah yes, of course. He and Duncan will still have a field day. Splitter averaged 12.5/9.5 in 28 minutes against the Heat this season. Meanwhile, Tim Duncan only played one game, but had 17/12 with 2 blocks. I don't believe that this series will even be close.

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) Except they're actually trying to do this. And their run differential suggests they've been very unlucky. They are a much better team than the White Sox.

It's over guys. Miami beat Indiana. The better team won. Stop re-hashing it. I don't see how the Heat could ever hope to have a chance against a team with the depth of the Spurs. Splitter is the type who is just going to dominate them them off the bench, and the Spurs have weapons all the way down the bench. Spurs in 6.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 12:49 PM) So, random thing I didn't realize that affects the Bulls: the Bobcats could have three first rounders (possibly even lottery) in next year's supposedly loaded draft class... 1) Their own, which barring some kind of miracle is going to be in the top-5 (if it's outside the top-10, it goes to the Bulls). 2) Detroit's pick, which is top-8 protected. Detroit picked 8th this year and could easily be a little better between Drummond's development and another high first. The Cats would get it in 2015 unless it's the #1 pick. 3) Portland's pick, which is top-12 protected. In the East they'd have a legit shot to make the playoffs. In the West, that's about where I expect their pick to be. It's top-12 protected in 2015 as well, then unprotected. So, hypothetically, let's say they take McLemore or Oladipo this year and MKG make ssome strides towards being a Gerald Wallace type player (his stats were only okay this year, but he's insanely young). Now in 2014, they get a shot to add a superstar-level talent and two more picks from a deep talent pool. If those pieces pan out to a reasonable degree, the Bulls' massive bargaining chip loses significant value. It's only top-8 protected in 2015 (meaning it wouldn't take much for the Bulls to get it that year) and unless they draft horribly with all those assets, they're probably not going to completely suck in 2016 when it's completely unprotected. That was a bit of a downer when I saw that. Of course, it could mean playing a bunch of rookies with limited first-year potential. Also, it's the Bobcats/Hornets organization here - so expecting them to hit on a draft pick or 3 is a big leap.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 01:00 PM) True, but in the playoffs he's not even just a guy anymore, he's like a statue. He's been fine during the regular season. Eh - regular season he was decidedly middle of the pack in save percentage. Bottom tier playoff goalie supported by monster offense. -

I don't know who starts game 3, but it's still crazy that the guy who made the diving Cup-winning save in game 7 vs. DET has been absolutely worthless his last two playoff series. Fleury's never been a stud - he's just a guy. -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ May 31, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) City-bragging rights are worth about as much as the attendance trophy. 2005 ended that s***.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 11:59 AM) Oh, and Wil Myers has apparently gone Miguel Cabrera on the International league in the last week and a half. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/fantasy-roto...-174039796.html They need to call him up as soon as this super 2 bulls*** passes (I think the 9th).

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 12:09 AM) Against LHP...they might eventually have to try Gillaspie at 3B and Keppinger at DH. Or Casper Wells, that's the other option. But Keppinger has been hitting very well the last 2+ weeks, a shame to sit him now that he's finally gaining confidence. With the way this streak is going, Beckham will struggle mightily....then, by the time they go back to Keppinger, he'll have cooled off completely again. With the way the what the who? Gordon Beckham has made a career of struggling mightily - streaks be damned, he's an equal-opportunity suckfest.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:59 PM) Wade obviously showed up tonight. But it's not like he's been dominant. Bosh still sucks. Ray Allen hit a few 3's. Tonight was mostly the LeBron show. This eastern conference title for LeBron might be more impressive (as in single-handedly getting your team to the finals) than 2007. No.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 04:42 PM) And why did you do this, good sir? I'm guessing lease?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) Probably not. But players have done it before, a very few times, and Dunn seems like the type that might very well do it. We are talking about a guy who is just playing the worst baseball in MLB right now, and pride is important to these guys. He's already made a ton of money. Not saying it is likely - just that it is possible. “If I’m not having fun anymore, I’ll go home,” Dunn told Yahoo! Sports. “Flat out. I’ll go home. I mean that. Swear to goodness. I’ll. Go. Home. I enjoy playing. Even though I suck. Or have been sucking. I enjoy playing the game. Love it. But as soon as I lose that, I’m gone, dude. It’s true. “How many games can you play doing this? This is ridiculous. You get to a point, and you’re like …” That was in 2011 when he was hitting .158. Two years later he's hit a robust .177 since signing with the White Sox. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-p...quitting_072011

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) This. I had to upgrade my package on Dish for an additional $10/month for the playoffs just to get NBC Sportsnet. Worth it.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) Sounds like the Jon Quick of Finland, nice. Interesting, since Quick has never led the league in save percentage or goals against average. Sigh. That said, nice signing as you can never have enough goaltending in your organization. That said, I'm finally on board with Crawford. After that Detroit series, his confidence is at an all-time high. Diving out to challenge that weird deflection off the glass over the weekend was goalie balls xINFINITY. -
Jason Kidd retired.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) It would be funny if Bron has a stinker though. Things such as LeBron stinkers don't exist.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) How so? I don't remember Freddy having a no trade clause that he only waved for the White Sox because of Ozzie. Many believe that Freddy signed an extension with the White Sox due to being related to Guillen by marriage.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) A 22-year old 2B with an .808 OPS? The future was so bright. Sigh. It's not even that. He passed the eye test. God, another guy who passed the eye test? 2008 Carlos Quentin. It seemed almost impossible to pitch to that version of that guy. It's too bad that he both hates hits own wrist and is a mental midget.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) The Penguins need to calm the f*** down with their emotions. Game 1 reminded me of the end of last year's Flyers series, and that did not end well for Pittsburgh. Get back to what you are good at. Or not. I'd much prefer they lose to Boston. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:04 PM) JR never really made a call to fire either of them, honestly. The writing was on the wall, but Guillen had already left of his own accord to sign a rich contract that he was negotiating while still managing the White Sox. This fact somehow seems to escape so many people around here. It's fascinating.
