QUOTE (farmteam @ May 28, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) Yeah isn't that when Franklin started chugging beers in court? He chugged something - don't remember what. It was a convincing argument.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 18, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) A curve argument refers to the rise and fall of BAC levels. Tracked on a graph, it's sort of a bell curve. The argument is that at the time of operation a person had just finished drinking and had unabsorbed alcohol in their system. Driver is stopped, does the field tests, goes to the station, blows. In all that time, the BAC has risen as the alcohol is absorbed. So if someone blows a .15 in WI they will have an ignition interlock on their car. The defense will argue that BAC was rising so at the time of the stop, he was at a .14. This seems like an easy argument but it isn't. The stop would really have to occur within 30 mins or so (dependent in part on food consumption) of consuming the last drink. Eliminating alcohol takes longer than absorbing. It's far more likely that a person is on the way down rather than rising. Most defendants won't have a good memory of what they drank anyway. There was a superb episode of Franklin & Bash that dealt with this situation perfectly.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:35 AM) I would like to un-bury this because I feel it warrants discussion. Why are they buying out Pierce and where would he go? He's still a pretty good player and it's not like they're way over the tax line. I wouldn't necessarily believe that story given it was started as a rumor by a Cavaliers' reporter. That said, if they did buy him out, he'd be a wonderful addition to the Bulls assuming they reign in his shot selection. Maybe we can get a discount like the Heat always do. Or, more likely, he'll sign a minimum deal with the Heat.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 24, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) You know that your rebuilding process is in full swing when Ryan Sweeney is hitting in the cleanup spot. It was interesting. They were showing the stats Sox vs Cubs on the season. The Cubs were right around the Sox in all the interesting categories (average, ops, runs score, homers, era, etc). The only difference is that the White Sox are in a s*** division. The Cubs have a better offense despite the fact that they have pitchers hitting. Yet people on this board are making fun of them - at least they're in a rebuild. The White Sox have no youth other than Chris Sale worth getting excited about at all.

The latter episodes (now through 9) in this season of Arrested Development are paying off - the show has leveraged some previously-built jokes, but they are clearly trying to start a new reference point. I have found myself laughing out loud the last two episodes based on jokes that are paying off from episodes 1, 3, 4 etc. Very good. I'm looking forward to knocking out another one tonight.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 27, 2013 -> 07:24 PM) You posted something like he's arguably a "more explosive scorer" than MJ using a couple isolated incidents, which is very odd to say. Saying anyone is better than MJ in something scoring-related (other than 3-point shooting) is questionable at best. I doubt it turns into MJ/Kobe without that post. It's a strange phrasing, it seems like you're saying because he got hot a few times he's a better scorer than Jordan ("more explosive" generally implies better). It's like saying Nolan Ryan is the "most unhittable pitcher" because he has 7 no-hitters. Perhaps you should stop bothering to argue with the guy who said "Paul George is a more athletic Scottie Pippen"?

I guess tonight's special is red snapper!

QUOTE (Brian @ May 27, 2013 -> 05:01 PM) Wish there was more interaction between Bluths. Not sure in a fan of centric episodes. Only thru 7 so maybe that changes. That was my concern - with the schedules every episode being so character centric. I'm through 7 as well - it's ok. I didn't expect it to be great, but with all the late arrivers to the series blowing up Twitter with its greatness I'd started to hope. It's fun to see the characters again, but they've pretty much completely bastardized Michael's legacy and made George into a complete joke. We'll see, though, still 9 episodes left!

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 25, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) Hawks are going to rip off 3 straight. Howard's luck is going to run out, and the UC crowd will pump the Hawks up for a blowout tonight. They'll head back to the Joe with their confidence regained. Part 1 of my epic prediction came true two nights ago - part 2 drops puck in 10.5 hours. Go Hawks. -
Happy Birthday you idiots!

I'm through 6 episodes, and the new AD is really hitting its stride with all the storylines. Thank goodness 6 finally included some Gob - I'm hoping it'll be very heavy on him moving forward.

Kristin Wiig plays a wonderful young Lucille Bluth.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 25, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) I'll have what you're having, and apparently you've started 3+ hours before gametime. What time should I come over? Also, please have the $29.95 ready. Now's fine. -

It is the greatest of fails ever. Aside from J4L's moronic Paul George comment, of course.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 24, 2013 -> 04:38 PM) Had a minor surgical procedure, and now I can't play for ATLEAST 2 weeks. Our team is very much a recreational team, but it still blows, especially since I'm the coach and I want to show them how awesome I am at playing softball (even though I am not awesome). At least you can still set that glorious lineup. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 24, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) I didn't read the article and I have a ton of respect for Phil as a coach but if the headline is actually true...just wow. This.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) Who? Anyway, George is taller, longer and can jump higher. The dunk vid I posted just cinched it. There ain't five mofos in the world that can do that s***. No joke, there's probably 5 guys you'll never hear of in Rucker Park right now who can do that.

The fourth season of the television comedy series Arrested Development is set to premiere on Netflix on May 26, 2013, and will consist of 15 episodes totaling 8.5 hours in length. 8.5 hours. OMG that's 37 minutes per episode. Commercial free. Let's dive into this. Season 1 is 22 episodes. Minus commercials they clock in around 21 minutes. 21x22 = 462 minutes 37x15 = 555 minutes This 4th season of Arrested Development will contain way more content than any season previously released. I just blue myself.
