2012-2013 Official NHL thread

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) I know what channel it is but the fact that every game of a finals series of a major sport is not on network TV is lame. What does NBC have on those nights? Reruns of Law & Order? No one cares about network TV anymore. -

Bring on the Bruins. See you Wednesday. -
You're Hahn, who are you looking to trade first?

Looking to trade first? Dunn. Able to trade first? Rios. Not going to be able to move? Dunn, Paulie, injured Peavy -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 08:08 AM) His OPS will be in the .600s shortly. Much like the bulk of our God awful roster. Jesus, that didn't take long. He's hitting .253 with a .687 OPS and falling. Congratulations, Soxtalkdom, you fell in love with 2013 Danny Richar.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) It's to the point where I am strongly considering a switch to PS4. I probably won't buy it till the second price reduction, unless f***ing Microsoft takes away XBox Live for the 360 shortly after launch too, in which case that system becomes f***ing useless. At this rate, I could see them switching off live services prior to the One even being launched. They are really, really screwing the pooch on this one. Honestly, I don't think there's any way I can go back to XBox at this point. Your mistake was not switching to the superior console long ago.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 11:43 AM) Mmm hmm. Also props for Bolland knocking out Richards of course. I'm not giving you props for saying he was good in the regular season when he was horrific. -

Are we talking pre or post Byfuglien massive weight gain and emotional issues? They're both great stories. The biggest thing that came from last night was the pairing of Toews and Kane and the instant revival of KANERRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr. Keep Hoss with his countryman (I think it's time Krush and I both give Handzus props for how much he has stepped up in the playoffs) and enjoy this thing. Bickell - Toews - Kane Sharp - Handzus - Hossa are your top two pairings moving forward. -
I told you fools Spurs got this.

Thank God they tied that up. They are working their asses off. Please, gentlemen, put one in early in the 3rd, get this crowd to f*** off, and head home up 3-1. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 04:13 PM) Still feel this way? I don't see why he wouldn't based on a few playoff games that have gone the Bruins' way. The Penguins are still the much better team. Sometimes, the much better team loses. -
Nationals manager Davey Johnson said that Bryce Harper will have his left knee examined by Dr. James Andrews on Monday.

I started a wonderfully different book last night. "Man in the Empty Suit". I'm flying through it. It's all about this guy who can time travel and every year he goes to the same spot to celebrate his birthday - and it's basically a convention of himselves at different ages. So every year he is seeing the party from a new perspective. All the sudden one of the years gets murdered at the party. Insane. Totally different. Very excited to finish it.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) Rumor has it he wasn't arrested and wasn't even involved. Just getting a big ol' box of weed delivered to his doorstep, eh?

QUOTE (balfanman @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) Maybe it's just me, but I think I would put a players name on the cup who had a hand in about 20% of your season & playoffs rather than some of those names that appear there. The gentlemen all listed there sacrifice way more hours than some of the stars on that team. Each one deserved it. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) Atlanta supposedly is going hard after CP3 and Dwight. What a bunch of scumbags with that ploy to sell season tickets.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) IF CP3 re-signs Yeah, that was part of the deal. Clearly if CP3 is gone then f*** the Clippers. I'd be really surprised if he winds up elsewhere, though.
-
QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 12:34 PM) I don't understand the massive love for George Karl. Is he a very good coach? Yes, but the man has never won a ring. He had Melo and Billups and didn't get to the finals. He got upset this year. It seems like he can help his teams exceed expectations in the regular season, but doesn't seal the deal in the playoffs. Maybe it's time they mixed it up. Holy s***. Close up shop. George Karl is an amazing head coach.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) I wonder if Prokhorov is going to back up the truck for Karl I feel like the Clippers would go just as hard after him and also be a much more attractive destination.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) Buehrle might put together some of the least value for the most money over the next 2 and a half years. But then we look at Adam Dunn and become wistful of Buehrle's performance and contract.
