QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) Pretty awesome episode last night. The HoJo diner they went to even reminded me of the one in Pulp Fiction. I wonder if that was on purpose with all of the separate stories out of sequence. I actually wondered this and then dismissed it... it was cool the moment you realize that the show is doing multiple stories as they happened simultaneously. The last two episodes have been some of the best of the series. The show is brilliant and really handling the integration of the colorful, drug-filled 60s rather well. When Roger was playing with the musical booze and cigarette, I was losing my s***.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:03 AM) Roger's wife. Holy hell. Why would you leave that? He's infatuated with Joan.

Ron Artest should have never been allowed back in the league after Malice at the Palace. Hopefully the league looks at his extended history and finally has the balls to ban him. They won't though. He'll get 5 games.

I know this is a Chicago-centric board and must of us live there or within close proximity, but come on, you cannot compare Chicago to New York. Chicago feels like one New York block in comparison, it's so small. And yes, New York seems like an endless road to discovery, while Chicago is very segmented (though a poster earlier did not mention Wicker Park which is probably my favorite area of the city). I love Chicago, but New York is just wild. However, Chicago is definitely paced right - I don't know that I could live in NY for an extended period of time.

Mad Men is somehow getting better.

I'm still so pissed at the NFL for moving the draft to Thursday night when Saturday yielded such delicious partying potential.

I mean, come on, over 40 shots per game is not getting outplayed. You can talk about whatever you want, but board play, physicality, turnovers, and slap hockey all lead to shots which lead to goals. The more shots you have, the better chance of scoring a goal - that is, unless the goalie you are playing is out of his mind, and at the same time the goalie on your side lets in softies in OT twice.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 02:24 AM) Yeah, Steve is such a pain sometimes. Yes, clearly I am the one who no one agrees with here. It's not like I've got a huge hockey resume to know what I'm seeing. And CERTAINLY Krush has never been a fan of the game.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) I HATE citing shot disparity. Why? The Hawks have had a ton of possessions and periods they dominated and come away empty. They have NOT been outplayed inthis series, and to say that is just wrong.
-
The 2011 team should have had the motto "trying to lose". This team actually seems decent enough to contend.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) IMO, the Hawks are extremely lucky to be down 3-2 with how they have played through 5 games. Phoenix is THOROUGHLY outplaying us. Their forecheck is much more aggressive, they are far more physical, they win all the loose pucks, they win all the board battles, and for the most part, they end up with the advantage on any one-on-one plays. They're players are so skilled at the fundamentals, especially defensively. They stick-lift and poke-check every second of every game. I wish the Hawks played as fundamentally sound and as good as the Coyotes did. I actually couldn't disagree more. I'm shocked you are seeing that the Hawks have been outplayed. Even with all the slap hockey (that's what I've always called it) the Hawks have averaged 40.4 shots per game in the series. The Hawks have outshot the Coyotes 202 to 139. That's a HUGE disparity. Smith has just stood on his head. Hopefully the Hawks can have a breakout game tomorrow night.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) Shameless. Meh. Another one I never really got into. Too slow for me. How on Earth could that show ever be describe as "too slow"? There's seriously a hundred storylines going on at once.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 07:12 AM) HBO has been slacking recently. Luck sucked despite all the talented actors. Eastbound & Down was unwatchable at the end. Girls - I tried it for 10 minutes, and it may be worse than How to Make It in America VEEP could be OK, but the trailer didn't wow me Feel free to touch on the best thing on television in "Game of Thrones". Also, VEEP looks hilarious.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) I really dont think Rondo is going to do drastically more without Rose, its not like Rose is known for his defense. Sure, but in said games Rondo has to guard Rose at certain points, which most certainly wears him down. Plus, he feels insecure because Rose is such a better player!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) Ok, thanks steve, could never keep that rule straight. It's all ass-backwards anyway. I wish both the NBA and NHL would adopt a "win the division and you're in, but seeding (1-8) is solely based on record" policy.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 10:01 AM) Let the Kane for Ryan Miller rumors commence once again! There's no need to focus on Miller, as there would be plenty of Kane suitors. It won't happen, but one can dream.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) I guess it was only a matter of time before the trade Kane talk started. Well, in this case you have to look at assets and how much those assets cost. Moving Hossa would prove difficult given the zaniness of his deal. Moving Toews would be stupid as he's a top 5 player in the NHL. You aren't getting a franchise 'tender for anyone else on the Hawks, in my opinion. Kane is fun. Kane probably has another level in him, if he is dedicated enough to reach it, but at this point I've grown prepared to move on from the Kanerrrrrr experience.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Wait...isn't it the case that the #3 seed in the conference is going to go to the division winner in the East (The Celtics)? Or have they re-edited this rule again? Since 2006 What that means is each division winner is guaranteed home court, but if another team that finishes 2nd in their division has a better record than one of the division winners, they get seeded accordingly. So right now, it'd be 1. Bulls 2. Heat 3. Pacers 4. Celtics
