Hawks just dominating to start, but no goal yet. Slav will say they have been outplayed.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) So two point goal in ot, pro beach hockey style. I like it. Ha. I feel like there has to be a game that doesn't hit OT at some point.

Calling it right now. Hawks win 4-2.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) If I was him, I would have just had a sweet threesome. This is why he is dangerous. Some men just want to watch the world burn, or in this case, whores beat each other to death.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) GOT was nice last night. I am really anticipating the end game of all of these armies being built up. Joffrey is the worst of the worst.

I get why you don't play Saad, but I don't agree with it. However, Shaw has shown a great ability to rise to the occasion, so his being back is still an upgrade. It'd be nice if Saad could stay in the lineup vs a Brunette or a Morrison.

I've thought often of David Wright on the Southside since it's all but guaranteed he moves this summer AND he'd be an instant super upgrade. The Sox have nothing to deal with, though, so it seems nearly impossible. My fantasy team is loving his rebirth this year with those shorter CITI Field walls helping his confidence. Imagine what the friendly park factors of the Cell would do for him.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) that's straight blasphemy. remind me where you got it? i don't really wanna go back and look. But the place that I get it from up on 181st street - now that s*** is the real deal. Due to love of Seinfeld, I had Famous Original Ray's. However, it was not at the nexus of the universe. It was next door to "The Irish Pub" in Times Square after watching Final Four action. I was wasted, so I expected to be blown away. I was more 'meh'.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) I should have predicted this post was coming. He's at another level now. Nobody wants to face him, and it's a good think the Sox won't have to. This is true, it was just food for thought. Obviously facing Rick Porcello is much more agreeable than facing Verlander.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) all yall saying you can find NYC pizza in Chicago are straight up lying. It's my favorite thing ever, and if that were true, I'd have known about it. and if you all didn't fold it in half - you weren't eating it right. it's easier to eat if you do that. I folded it in half. It was just ok. NYC pizza is nothing special at all. I've had frozen pizzas that are better.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) Verlander is scheduled for Friday vs NY. That means he'll go the following Wednesday, and the Sox will miss him again. And even further out than that, the Tigers rotation is setup where the Sox will miss him in the 2-game series in the middle of May. Could be 3 times max facing him this season. No rain. Just an FYI, but the Sox have been about as good as you can be against Justin Verlander in his career. His 4.13 ERA against us is the 2nd highest of any AL team.

Olney puts Sox in top 10 for power rankings

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) Could we have a catcher controversy on our hands? I don't think many are too concerned with backup catcher in the bigs right now given how much of a workhorse Mr. Pierzynski is, and AJ is rocking an OPS north of 1.000 in the Majors right now - so I'd say "no". -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:28 AM) Yeah, they kind of gauge how far they can take you out of the way. One of the girls that worked for me when I was in NYC alot took like an hour and a half cab ride. She was staying at the Hilton just south of central park and the cab took her all the way down through battery park up on surface streets through the lower and upper west side and then back around central park to the hotel. Basically a tour of manhattan. Hilarious. Yeah, some people are way too trusting. I will say, again, how much better the regulated cabs in NYC are than the Chicago cab situation.

Red Egg in Chinatown was a great spot when we visited New York. Also, vegan restaurant called Candle 79 was out of this world. And obviously, Mario Batali's Eataly (easy to find next to the Flat Iron Building) was an awesome mixture of food market and tons of restaurants. We packed so much into our 2.5 days that I can't really type it up, but those were just some of the tasties enjoyed.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:56 AM) I actually prefer flying in and out of Newark because the train is very easy to take in and out of manhattan. Otherwise im in a f***ing cab half the day from Laguardia or JFK. Those guys LOVE taking people for rides from out of town. This is why God invented Google Maps. The joker who picked us up from LaGuardia had an interesting start to the ride, and I corrected him almost immediately and then we got down to business.

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:38 AM) Now you're gonna tell me our system is going to be ranked something other than last. Let's not get carried away. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 07:47 AM) The Royals are the ultimate dick tease. Not really. You just have to learn to not get all hot and bothered by them. I mean, come on, and I state this every year when someone starts getting a hard on for their potential - they're the Royals.

A thread hidden from me where SS2k5 can re-post all of Twitter in one spot so I can ignore it.

I just want to know where this Mike Smith came from, because he used to be atrocious. Seriously, 2009-2011 while with Tampa Smith was one of the worst goaltenders in hockey - of course, the D in front of him was awful, but he'd have given up about 4 softies in any of these games with 40 shots on last year. I swear goaltending is the relief pitching of baseball these days. Save a few truly elite guys, the highs and lows of goaltending performance are completely random.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) So you can eat at all 500 restaurants in Oak Brook in a single afternoon? I see. Ok, come on, it's Oak Brook. There's nothing there that you can't experience at [insert suburb here] on any given day. Throw a couple of really nice non-chain restaurants my way and we'll start talking.

It will be Jarrod Parker. That game will be a blast to watch.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:57 AM) I'd suggest you quit at this point. You're starting to sound like an old man with kids. Yeah, I mean, the Oak Brook comment is laughable, and that's coming from a dude who lives 5 minutes from there. You can see and do everything in Oak Brook in one boring afternoon.
