QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) Committed Indians Reports today out of Columbus are that Nash has a 10-team list of preferred destinations & Chicago is NOT on it. Well of course. No athlete apparently in any sport anywhere likes Chicago. It doesn't really matter, though, as that was never happening.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) I don't care about the coverage, it just annoys me that people try to deny WHY there is so much coverage for those 2. Same here. I was only complaining about Tim Legler's comment, because it was blatantly false. I love the coverage I get on the best channel of all-time, NBA TV.

Magglio Ordonez tells @loscronistas that he's not interested in a minor-league deal. Also said some interest from A's, "nothing concrete" This has a Jermaine Dye situation written all over it. Not willing to sign for anything less than an MLB deal to prove himself in camp.

Loss of a Great Sox Fan
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 08:51 AM) My father passed away on January 30. He grew up in Northern Indiana and became a Sox fan through listening to their games on the radio in the 50s. He took me to my first game when I was four (which was a Reds game, because at that time we were living in Southern Indiana). Went to our first Sox game when I was 8. What hurts the most is that my son turns four in April and we were going to take him to his first Sox game this season. Sorry to hear that, man.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 01:31 AM) Eh...that's a little dramatic. They are playing the worst in the league right now, sure, but this is also not normal for them. Earlier in the year they were both doing a really solid job. I think if the Hawks can get some D help, they will get back to normal. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 07:19 AM) Give them some credit, Tampa has been worse. I know the defense hasn't done Emery/Crawford any favors recently, but once in a while it would be nice to get some big saves, which they haven't done at all. They are the worst goaltending tandem in hockey. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/stats/bycatego...HL&sort=112 Go to the bottom. 46 goaltenders have started a minimum of 19 games this year. Emery - 42 Crawford - 43 Compare to Tampa's 39 and 46 Both average out to 42.5. Oh, and none of this makes my response not accurate. The Blackhawks, at best, are tied for having the worst goaltending tandem in hockey, and their inability to stop pucks has finally infected the rest of the roster that has grown weary carrying those f***ing worthless guys all season long. Did you know the Blackhawks are the only team in the league to fail to record a shutout this year? I would like to also say that i have always been right about Corey Crawford the many, many years he's been in the system. Dude f***ing sucks.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) I'm just saying that maybe Leggler didn't watch the last 2-3 minutes of his play or didn't see his end-of-game stat line. What he said is somewhat true though, he did take care of the ball for the majority of the game. I'm not ripping Jeremy Lin. I like Jeremy Lin. I can still analyze his game and final stat line. He played fine. However, 6 turnovers in 26 minutes is a tad careless and continues a trend that he needs to stop.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) Well, to be fair, Lin only had like 3 TOs with about 6 min left in the 3rd. He then turned it over 3 times in the next few minutes. They all count. I'm not ripping the kid. I'm ripping the analysis.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
I really love the Jeremy Lin story. Of course, I had to turn on ESPN at 9 for the Warriors/Blazers game. Tim Legler provided his "analysis" about how the Knicks need Lin to play like he did last night and facilitate when Carmelo returns. His exact words included "and he took care of the ball and limited his turnovers". Hey, the dude played great. You don't get 13 dimes in and 26 minutes without doing so. However, there's no reason to lie to the audience. At that rate, per 48 Lin turns the ball over 11 times. I really just abhor ESPN, and avoid it like the plague, but there was no avoiding that one apparently.

Here comes Linsane. Six minutes into the game the Knicks are already up 17-7 over the Kings, with Lin on pace for 40 points and 16 dimes (ha, he's at 5 and 4, but it's fun to project!)

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:53 AM) I disagree. Melo succeeds because he dominates the ball. D'Antoni's offense succeeds when the PG dominates the ball. Something will have to give here, and my guess it will not be Melo. There will be nights where the offense looks great and there will be nights where they just stagnate, I have no doubt. Hot and cold, just like before. I believe Carmelo Anthony is going to thrive working with Jeremy Lin.
