QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) I don't think it's true, but the more jokes I can pile on LeBron, the better. I believe last year mods warned us to stop making fun of Delonte f***ing LBJ's mom... how long do we get to make fun of Rashard banging LBJ's girlfriend? Rashard had such difficulty finishing this year that he probably rocked her world all night long.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:48 PM) I got in this trouble here by saying that lineup isn't so hot cause of the black hole in the lineup and I included Omar and not Beckham. I like Omar but I still think he's close to my description. I'm not trying to bag on Omar. I'm just responding to that one post about the lineup and now I'm an Omar hater getting flamed for that. It's not like I started a thread saying, 'Dump Omar; Beckham is a god' I think you take people arguing your weird points the wrong way. It's a message board. People aren't flaming you and they aren't pissed. You are the king of extremes. If people ride Pierre, you ask why they don't ride Adam Dunn and Alex Rios despite some of the lengthiest non-trade rumor threads in Pale Hose Talk being dedicated to those very subjects. Take a chill pill and try to enjoy yourself.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) For the record, my point of the post had nothing to do with dogs vs cats. No one thought that. I have nothing against dogs, I just prefer cats. I always find it comical that dog people absolutely hate cats. I don't get it. Oh, and dogs are not smart compared to cats.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) Sure, they're nice to you when they want you to pet them or they're hungry, but once they're tired of that they'll nip your hand so you leave them alone. That's just not accurate. Cats are really smart, they love to play, and they make great companions.

Jimmy Johns - $1 subs - Chicago - today only.
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Taco Burrito king on Broadway (I think) really delivered a few weeks ago. But not all of them are created equal. As to the $1 subs, I walked past a store at 10:30 and people were in line, I had no idea why. When I found out it was for $1 sub, I determined that Id rather pay than wait in line. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) Drove by. I'd rather pay $7 for the sub than wait in that f***ing line.

Burritoville, Jimmy Johns, Pizza Villa... all were part of the NIU rotation. The best was Burritoville. I love, love, love the Bootlegger w/ cheese at Jimmy John's though. I attempted to make love to it once, but it was pretty messy.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) Yes, I actually do want 2006 Kobe. The real issue is...how the Hell do you beat the Heat unless you can find that? That's the real problem. A guy who could make us better in the regular season might well make us worse against the Heat. That was the catch-22 that was built when the Heat put themselves together. They've got 3 of the best offense/defense players in the league surrounded by guys who can sub in and out for offense and defense. If they add some size this offseason...how do you beat it if you can't match it? We tried to outdefend Dwyane Wade and still lost. Do we think that we can actually outscore Dwyane Wade? The Bulls were right there in Game 2, had a chance to win Game 4 with a buzzer beater in regulation, and had a monster lead in Game 5. One would think having Kevin Martin out there instead of Kyle Korver's absolute worst could have swung at least two of those. Your defeatist attitude that only MJ in his prime could help the Bulls beat the Heat is simply silly.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) The thing that's wrong with it is that if the guy defends like a shorter version of Kyle Korver, it might darn well make thing worse. Kyle Korver NBA.com page - 6'7" Kevin Martin NBA.com page - 6'7" There's just no arguing the ability of Martin to create his own shot and get to the line, and yet another one of your points goes down in flames comparing the height of two players who are the same height. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) Of course, I haven't yet thought about "How would we get him without giving up anyone in the top 6 of the rotation". I think you talk Joakim Noah.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) But...any time he's doing those things, he's taking the ball out of the hands of a guy who does them better. How can you argue this? All season we needed a legit 2 guard to take some of the pressure off Rose. This post you have just typed is maddening. What's wrong with having a second guy who can draw fouls and score at will? Anytime Wade has the ball, there's someone on the team who is better. Gosh, the Heat must be f***ed.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:25 PM) Korver is supposed to be that kind of instant offense. He shot 42% from 3 this year, Martin shot 38%. Martin had a TSP of 0.6, Korver 0.57 (although Korver in 2009 was 0.62). Martin doesn't require an entire team to set elaborate screens to get open. Martin creates. Martin draws fouls. There's no statistic you can point to to lessen the gap between Korver and Martin.- Catch All Anything Thread

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:04 PM) My point was that you'd still be looking at a one way player, something that could be problematic come playoff time. Meh. Instant offense is huge. If Korver had hit the shots he put up, we'd have been fine. Kevin Martin is a perfect fit for this roster. Dear Lord, the space he'd clear for D-Rose would be legendary.- Jimmy Johns - $1 subs - Chicago - today only.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) He's far from a perfect fit. He still can't play a lick of defense. You'd have the same problems you had with Korver this season. Korver's problems were on the offensive end just as much as the defensive end. Martin can create his own shot, doesn't need the entire team to set up screens for him, and can get to the line 8 times a game.- A's fire manager!
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) Yeah, but that best ERA got them an 81-81 record, and Matsui has been on the decline for a few years now. Plus, pitching has never been an issue with them, it has been an offensively challenged bunch for a while. Willingham and Matsui werent going to come in and light the world on fire, and they certainly werent going to challenge the Rangers for the best offense in the division. Billy ball has failed for another year, and another manager bites the dust because of it Well you took care of that. Nice post.- A's fire manager!
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:22 AM) Wait a minute...You mean a manager was held accountable for the poor performance of a team that was expected to contend? Who on Earth thought the A's were any good?- 2010-2011 NBA Thread
