QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) No, your impatience is prudent. I was saying that some people have way too much patience. A guy could play for ten years and never live up to his potential, but someone would say that you can't accurately judge someone until they've had 11 full seasons. Ok, gotya.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) I can't recall too many people saying to trade him. At this point, he's had parts of three seasons in the majors (a total of about two full seasons). He's not shown very much improvement or consistency over that span. Some people just have unlimited patience. Some people don't have unlimited patience, I think is what you mean. Do I want Gordon traded? Um, yeah if you can get something worthwhile for him. Chances are you can't. I sadly feel that he has no chance to get as good as I thought he was going to be, because I thought he'd be really f***ing good... .300 with 20 homers and an obp between .370/.390. That just ain't happening.

QUOTE (Art Vandelay @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:33 AM) I am going in today to sign my offer letter and get the background check started and also complete the drug test. It's been a long 14 months but I'm finally back! Awesome, dude, congrats!

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) bmaggs, Bosh and his 34 pts had a lot to do why the Bulls didn't win gm 4...I expect a much better effort defensively against him tonight. Maybe the Heat are due for a bit of a letdown? If you are posting from the future, I hate you and the result.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:59 AM) I've played with the first-gen and i found it to be clunky, slow and hard to use. The free books I check out from the library are easy to handle and have that nice book smell to them.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) I need some CD ripping advice. I want to go through and rip all of my CDs to an external hard drive. I have decided that I am going to rip each CD to a FLAC file and an MP3 file. I found software that can do BOTH at the same time on a Mac. Here's my quandry, it gives me the option to include the track number in front of the file name. So, each file would be [track number] [song title].mp3. I am not sure I like that because if i try to sort the files by name, it will sort by track number, not song title. Should I include the track number? The FLAC and MP3 files will include all of the album data embedded in them, so i wont lose the correct order. I'd assume this depends on the software used. The mp3 files should contain the track number regardless of whether it's in the song title or not.

I've been complaining about Beckham and Dunn, but Alex Rios is actually the worst hitter on our team while making $12 million! For this we get an astounding .202 / .261 / .312 / .573 slash line. A FIVE SEVENTY THREE OPS FOR TWELVE MILLION! Kenny should be fired for this one alone (though the Manny move could definitely add a little salt to that wound).

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) I just want to clarify to people that I wasn't being sarcastic. Who would have ever thought that Kotsay would be a better option almost two full months into the season? Satan

He's on pace for 16 homers! ...and 250 ks! That bad. That real bad.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) Who's a better defensive SS than Alexei off the top of your head? Elvis Andrus
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:43 AM) That never, ever happens on the Sox. Yeah, we should definitely never fire Greg Walker or anyone.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:52 AM) He's in the discussion. In the discussion and definitively the best are two very different things.

Beckham : .256/.325/.406/.731 in Career.

QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) But his OPS has become more OBP centric, and OBP is more important than SLG. He's also grown into the best defensive SS in the game since 2008, when he was a poor-average (depending on who you ask) 2B. His BABIP is sustainable, and his improvement in discipline may well be sustainable. This article goes into his improved approach. Hawk much?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2011 -> 09:20 AM) He also took a lot longer off to be fair. Holliday actually missed fewer games than Dunn for that injury.

Are we really freaking out over a hot streak from Alexei Ramirez? I'd say he's not maturing as a hitter. Even after this hot streak his OPS is 2 whopping points higher than it was all of his rookie season. I know we're grasping for straws following this s***bomb of a disappointment team, but let's get real here.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 24, 2011 -> 08:36 AM) Or a google website, and create a google calendar that you can put on the website. Real easy to provision rights on it, super easy to build (even for those who hate technology), and free. This or facebook are the painfully obvious options.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) The Killing has turned out to be a mediocre show. It had a lot of promise but didn't achieve its potential. Normally I hold your opinion in high regard, but I could not disagree with this post any more. I thought this week's episode was outstanding.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2011 -> 07:46 AM) Anyways, Dunn will hit homers. He has always hit homers. I keep telling myself this and waiting for games where he strikes out fewer than 3 times... That appendectomy really threw him off his game, he was swinging the bat really well to start the season, then poof, gonezo.

Bulls 94, Heat 83 tonight.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) 15,000 posts for the Milkman. All terrible, just terrible. Agreed.

QUOTE (kev211 @ May 23, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) So does anyone have a video of the Luol Deng out of bounds call when he was 2 feet away from it? I want to see it again. I guess he was called for touching the ball before Wade had completely let go of it, not for stepping out of bounds.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 23, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Spent Saturday and most of Sunday in the hospital. Didn't get to actually see the game. Looks like the Heat thoroughly outplayed the Bulls. All is not lost. Get game 4 and everything is straight. I hope everything's alright, yo.
