QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 19, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) Hawks signed Corey Crawford to a 3 year deal. Money not known yet. The goalie carousel has finally come to a stop! This, of course, just means he'll be terrible next year and we'll wind up eating his contract.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2011 -> 01:48 PM) No need for Pargo, as he is a poor man's Korver, but Butler would be a good fit for this series. What kind of team just throws players into the ECF after they barely played all season??? Oh wait...

JAKE F'N PEAVY!!!
I saw what I could at halftime and during commercial breaks. Jake was routinely sitting around 93-95 (juiced gun?). I pray to everything that he can keep that velocity up and stay healthy. He looked downright filthy.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) The Heat were terrible in close games this season and weren't really all that great yesterday either. The Bulls were just worse. The Heat may have these "Great closers" but in the last 6:00 of a close game, they switch to all isolation, all the time mode. That works 30% of the time, to first order, no matter who you're dealing with. If you can score 35% of the time, and you don't commit the stupid foul Noah committed to bail them out yesterday, you win against them down the stretch because they go to all iso, all the time mode. Lebron wasn't taking great shots down the stretch. He made that one big three but missed others. He was taking contested shots. He'll make those 30% of the time, but no better. You are kidding yourself if you think that just because they go to isolation or had chemistry issues during the regular season that a team with Wade and James on it cannot close.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
I feel good about the Bulls today. They really could not have played any worse and were tied with 4 minutes left to play. This, however, is why you have to build a lead on the Heat and have to avoid close games... they have two elite closers.

QUOTE (Felix @ May 18, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) No, I'm "upset" (not at all, really) with you because you clearly missed the point of his initial post, and then decided to make a big deal of it. I mean s***, maybe if the initial post was made by someone with a well documented history in this thread of bashing the Bulls and discrediting any success Rose has had, then I could understand it. But as is, it sounds as if you're just really pissed off that Rose (and the Bulls) played poorly tonight and want to b**** someone out to prove you're smarter. Congrats. You're right. Rose is a superstar. You're the best! golf clap for being lame.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Felix @ May 18, 2011 -> 10:39 PM) Now you're just arguing semantics. The gist of SB's post was that Rose isn't perfect. Everyone knows this. Why are you still poking away? Wow. Genius. He said Rose isn't a superstar which was some dumbass s***. Clearly everyone knows he isn't perfect. His faults are pointed out ad nauseum. He was terrible tonight. That doesn't make him not a superstar however. I like how you get upset with ME bc I'm arguing w a lawyer over semantics. That's rich.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 18, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) No I typed it because when I watch Rose shoot, his shot does not instill confidence in me. He just needs to keep working and get more arc on it because it just seems way to flat. He just won f***ing MVP. He doesn't need to be a finished product to be a superstar. You cannot win MVP in the NBA without being a superstar. You are wrong. The entire world knows you won't admit that a statement you made was incorrect, but when you brought into doubt Derrick Road being a superstar bc of this game, you were dead wrong.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 18, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) Felix, Exactly. It just seems like if you even suggest Rose is anything less than perfect that your a bandwagon fan. You clearly typed that because of this game, Rose isn't a superstar.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 18, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) I meant superstar as in some one who will deliver championships. And im not even saying that it matters if the Bulls lose 4-1 this series, Rose has progressed far faster than I believe anyone can imagine. Basically like MJ he will need to develop a more consistent jump shot to really take his game to the next level. Im not sure whats so controversial about this statement. So you are saying your statement was silly and pointless? I'm glad we agree. Go Bulls. They won't shoot 34% again.
