  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 03:59 AM) Man we are gonna be playing some kids next season. Should be exciting! There are reports the Hawks are at or around 55.2 mil. (Bowman is staying quiet about it of course) That Connelly kid looks ready from all reports so... Sharp (3.9) - Toews (6.3) - Kane (6.3) Brouwer (1.025) - Bolland (3.375) - Hossa (5.275) Stalberg/Persson (.850) - Reasoner (1.15) - Kopecky (1.2) Bickell (.675) - Dowell (.525) - Burish/Skille (.800-.900) Keith (5.538) - Seabrook (3.5) Campbell (7.143) - Hjalmarsson (2.0-3.0*) Connelly (.875) - Hendry/Denis-Pepin/UFA (.800-.850*) Niemi (2.0-3.0*) Crawford (.800) ? (assuming no Ladd, Beach and some others not called up, estimated guesses on RFA salaries, etc..) I'm like 75% certain (going big there ha) that Beach will be on the big club. I'm also exceedingly excited about Stalberg.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) Thank you Stan for getting rid of the exact 2 big pieces you should have. Exactly.
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:23 PM) Though still another rumor, but where is Steve to gloat?! I told all you f***in idiots!
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) Gotta resist the urge to stay awake... I need to go to sleep and relax and hear the news tomorrow As I suspected, I went to sleep and woke up and missed nothing. Glad I didn't hang around. Heck, I was even online for the first signing! Gooden to Milwaukee.
  5. Just saw this too... that's quite a f***ing haul for the Hawks.
  6. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) From FanHouse Ha, this is all just such bulls***!
  7. Cleveland signed Byron Scott (supposedly) which would definitely point to LBJ staying in Cleveland, although I don't see how Cleveland is any better next year.
  8. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) Actually Bernstein DID cover the Bulls during the Jordan era. Boers, I believe, covered the Bears. (I remember them telling stories about Boers and the Silverdome) With regards to the Kobe deal, it almost went down. The sticking point was Deng. The bulls wanted to trade him, but Kobe wouldn't come if they did. So, technically he was right, the last detail just couldnt get done. The Score carried very little weight when he "covered" the Bulls. He did nothing more than carry a microphone. Boers is the one who has contacts, and people are getting them confused.
  9. I think you fools are getting Boers and Bernstein mixed up. Dan Bernstein didn't cover the Bulls, but Terry Boers did. Dan Bernstein blows smoke out of his ass more often than not, and the last time he leaned on his "sources" he "broke" the Kobe to Chicago rumor and guaranteed it. Guess what, it didn't happen. I'm so sick of his name being thrown around this thread like he actually carries any weight. If you need some dirt on what went down with the Rockford Lightning in the 90s, then he's your guy, but if you need NBA insight, and more specifically Bulls insight, look somewhere else. Boers has some good contacts, but they are pretty old and out of touch with the current NBA landscape.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) Why on earth would you deal the White Sox second best starting pitcher for a 1B? I s*** you not Wite. I was going to type this sentence word for word.
  11. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) Another "rumor" - LBJ contacts Ray Allen to take less money to join him, Bosh and Dwade in Miami for Dream Team http://miamiherald.typepad.com/sedano-says...dream-team.html Yes, the New York Daily News with the scoop. F*ck every lying outlet trying to get clicks.
  12. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) I will not be sleeping from 11:01pm CDT and 12:30. You think stuff will go down in that hour and a half?
  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) I guy called the score and said something to the effect of "Have you ever been to Miami? I have. Wade OWNS that town". Well, it's true. You think the Miami Heat, you think Dwyane Wade. That ain't changin'.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) Meh.. Steve will probably be right at the end, but still you can't assume what a player thinks or is gonna do when you don't know the guy. When it comes to ego, LeBron is pretty easy to read. Dude's a delightfully good interview, a good teammate, all that jazz, but he's not going to Wade's town to play with him. I do know that simply from reading up on him over these many years.
  15. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) Dan LeBatard - Reporting definitively that James will NOT play for Heat next season. Stugotz and i take a bow
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) As Rowand has said, I'm not believing anything until said player has signed at the dotted line or if a sign and trade is finalized. Yeah, everyday some new crazy s*** comes up out of nowhere. Seriously, I could write a bleacher report with "league sources" saying that LeBron is a lock to land with the Thunder and it'd start getting reported.
  17. Excellent work, knightni. This is an accurate vision of me, and thank you for the avatar idea.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) Bosh? Or the Reporter? The reporter (LeBatard). I posted the tweet in the lebron thread.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) Well his quotes are an example of why speaking in absolutes is a really bad idea unless you're truly 100 percent sure. I hate all of you.
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:18 AM) Wait, what? You skipped my like 4 posts stating that I was surprised to hear recently that the Bulls changed their stance on Joe Johnson. Hell, in the exact post you quoted I added "surprisingly". Give me a break.
  21. I'd like to point out that I have heard MANY MANY reports that Bosh was much more keen on following LeBron than LeBron was on following Bosh. Also, this BS summit report even stated that "LeBron was very noncommittal" in terms of anything. The Bulls, surprisingly, have prefered to pair JJ with LeBron, and that still remains an extremely likely alternative.
  22. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) But, but, but LeBron would never ever play with Wade. He won't. I actually meant to type "stay in Cleveland" but I'm clearly all over the place. My mind cannot compute this madness.
