QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:29 AM) Lol Id imagine that was her attempt to get you in bed, I still dont get why some girls like giving head in the first place. Well, then I would guess that's part of what makes you a straight man instead of a gay man.

Glad I missed that message, I guess. I wonder what it was. In other news, the Soxtalk Whipping Boy thread gets a new name at least!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:50 PM) That the Bulls had Jerome James on their roster until today? He's still listed as #31 in the drop down.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) http://store.nba.com/product/index.jsp?pro...&cp=1421535 What the....? That's a really weird one... it's definitely an officially offered jersey from NBA.com. http://store.nba.com/family/index.jsp?cate...&cp=1421535 Interestingly enough, it's not on the Knicks or Heat pages. What does THE LEAGUE know?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Then in other words.. we can't get excited till July 8th I believe. All indications though are that he wants to leave, but in a S&T and not leave Toronto out to dry though. Well, I just don't see why he'd be meeting with the Bulls again so quickly unless something was brewing. If the BUlls come to agreement, it'll be announced just like Gooden/Salmons/Darko's s***ty contracts have.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) KC Johnson reports the Bulls will be meeting with him. Seems weird to meet AGAIN. They might actually be talking contract?
-
QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) Chris Bosh just landed in Chicago. Is he meeting with the Bulls again? Didn't they just meet him like 12 hours ago in Dallas?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) Self defense isnt murder. It's true.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) First of all I was talking in generalities as a team that has to unload salary and with that contributing role players. Second, go f*** yourself on talking down to me. The Hawks biggest strength this year was out working other teams because of their serious depth, that was what killed the Sharks and the Flyers. Losing players that contributed to this years team and replacing them with young prospects is going to hurt the depth a bit, and thats a fact. Nobody is whining about losing players at the height of their value so far, but nobody is going to replace them at the moment that we have received in trades. And you only touched on 5 players out of 10 that we will most likely lose. Thats called depth. No Rock, go f*** YOURSELF. (seriously, wtf, are you 12 years old?) When we hear the names Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, etc, that's when you start to worry. The Hawks more than likely will be bringing Hammer back, and it sounds like Ladd should return as well.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) Exactly, they will compete, but they may not have the horses to go the whole way and beat that many good teams in the playoffs. But they should be a contender for several years while some of the players in the pipe develop into those serious contributors. Rock, you seriously have no idea what you are talking about. Versteeg and Byfuglien are role players, and Eager and Sopel didn't even play the majority of their teams games and weren't necessarily very good when they did. Sopel carries more value only because he's a body who can clear the zone on the penalty kill. Everyone they have traded is entirely replaceable, and that's pretty much with players we've already named who are within the organization. The biggest issue we're looking at is goaltending, and hopefully Niemi is reasonable and signs for 3.5 million or less. The Blackhawks, as stands today (+ Niemi) are still EASILY the best team in the NHL next year.

Some pretty big and important information on Kobe's right index finger. Kobe's finger is toast This lends credence to the big question between going for it (and in this case winning it all) and resting the finger in hopes of future success.

NBA free agency tips off tonight at 12:01 a.m. ET. How will it all go down? We asked our experts for their best guesses on where the top 10 free agents will land this summer. Where will LeBron James sign? Henry Abbott, TrueHoop: Chicago Bulls. Though if playing with Wade and Bosh trumps all, he'll end up in Miami. More likely than 50-50? No. J.A. Adande, ESPN.com: Chicago Bulls. They have max salary space and they're playoff-capable even without him. But with so many other teams vying for his interest, it's not an even money bet. More likely than 50-50? No. Kevin Arnovitz, TrueHoop: Chicago Bulls. Along with the Nets, they are the only team in the field that features youthful assets (Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah) and the cap space required to sign an additional max contract to play alongside James. More likely than 50/50? No. Larry Coon, ESPN.com: Chicago Bulls. Big city, a team that's clearly his to lead, and a nucleus that can be competitive right away all add up to the biggest free-agency defection since Shaq in 1996 -- but nobody really knows the mind of LeBron. More likely than 50/50? No. Chad Ford, ESPN.com: Chicago Bulls. They offer the best combination of a huge market and a chance to win now with a young supporting cast. More likely than 50/50? No. John Hollinger, ESPN.com: Chicago Bulls. I see Chicago and Cleveland as slight favorites, but Miami, New York and New Jersey are very much in the game. More likely than 50-50? No, not even close. Chris Sheridan, ESPN.com: New York Knicks. He has done some of his best flirting at Madison Square Garden. (I was a witness.) More likely than 50-50? No. Marc Stein, ESPN.com: Cleveland Cavaliers. I still see this as a 50/50 deal with at least four other teams (Chicago, Miami, New Jersey and Dallas) about to get serious consideration from LeBron. So I'm going with the Cavs by default -- for now -- for two reasons: (1) I can't believe no one else in this group thinks he's staying and (2) I think leaving his hometown team is far more emotionally wrenching than any of us on the outside realize. Watch this space, though. More likely than 50-50? No.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:15 AM) No, Lebron is not that much better than a healthy Wade. Healthy obviously being the key word. But I'd take Lebron 10 times outta 10, obviously. But I certainly wouldn't cry if we ended up with Wade and somebody like Boozer. But D-Wade in 2012-2013 is probably going to suck.
-
Am I the only one who sees D-Wade as a VAST downgrade from LeBron? (not that i think anything will happen with Wade, jsut reading a few of the latest posts.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) Reality definitely sucks. If we don't get LeBron, Wade (yeah right), or Bosh, we're pretty much screwed. Obvious guy is obvious.
-
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) Every guy we traded as a sole player alone was replaceable but as a group I think it is going to be hard to replace that much and expect to be right back where you were. The key players are all returning.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) I saw a rumor about Jefferson that he's gay and they kind of found out about it in San Antonio, which is part of why he wants to get out of town. It's certainly sketchy as to if that's true (I think those rumors actually started last summer), but even with the lockout potentially coming, it makes no sense for him to opt out of 15 million dollars next year. I'd be surprised if the TOTAL for the deal he ends up signing is even 15 million. Well there you go.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) Definitely, but we've known that all along. Yeah, it's nothing new.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) Joe Johnson expected to re-sign with Atlanta for max deal. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Apt9...agentbuzz063010 That's fine and dandy.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) Nope, I'll stick with nose for the net. 6th on the team in the reg season with 44 points. The guy can fill it up and has great hands. Trust me, anyone else on that line next year is going to rock the big bad 44 points that Steeger put up without costing 3 mill per year.

Dear Randy Williams. GTFO

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) I don't exactly get the premise of Louie. I watched both episodes, and had some laughs, but I'm guessing there will be no continuity in the show. It's clearly a stylistic ripoff of Seinfeld. I enjoyed it alot, though.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 09:14 AM) Man, I love Steeger. He has great hands and a nose for the net. Gonna be hard watching him in another uni. With that said, he had to go. Yuck. Steeger is seriously not that good and he really doesn't have a nose for the net... a fear of the net seems more accurate.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 09:08 AM) Flyers re-signed Leighton, two years, $3.1 million. I thought they'd sign or trade for a big name to finally shore up that spot but I guess not. They only had to pull him in 33% of their Stanley Cup Finals games, clearly they've already found their answer!!
