QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) I hope Owens goes 0-5, with 3 K's, 2 limp grounders to first, and a couple misplayed balls in the outfield. I want him GONE! That. The joke that Jerry Owens is needs to die.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) I just manually updated MVP 05 again. What i do is take the Pecota Comparables for young players, and average their stats. I did this for Q and he hit .290 30 homers and 100 RBI's. Awesome. Yeah, every now and then I get going on MVP on the PC again. These MVP mods are so cool, more realistic player models now, faces all updated, completely new menus and songs. It's sweet.

Richard pushing in as potential 6th starter
Wally Richard as 6th starter? It makes sense, it's pretty much what he was last year. What a pointless article.

Let Daddy Tell Ya a Little Somethin'...
Here's a few things I've noticed in my drafts, and since I am done I will release my knowledge in case any of you have some late ones scheduled. Clayton Kershaw I have no idea why IDIOTS out there are not more all over this kid. He's going to be a top ten starting pitcher this year. Think of the run support, plus his natural progression. I'm calling 17 wins and he's going like pick 140 (to me) in every draft. Last year was a primer, this year he busts out. Just look to his 20/4 K/BB ratio in Spring. IDIOTS. Matt Wieters I've seen people dropping this kid. They are nuts. He's probably the best catcher in baseball right now, but the Orioles are (smartly) playing the arb clock game with him. Draft him and patch him with a guy like AJ or Kelly Shoppach for a month and a half and then laugh as you have the best catcher from then on... Closers I laugh anytime someone takes a closer before like round 14. Guys like Hanrahan, Motte, and Devine can be had super late. HILARIOUS! Elijah Dukes He's going undrafted in a lot of leagues, which is ridonk. Sure, he's a nutjob, but he's also a nutjob who has a job all to his own this year and will easily put up 25/25, if not 30/30. RIDONK I SAY! Nick Adenhart I know he's had elbow problems in the past... but he's having a solid Spring and he certainly has a job all to his own with Santana and Escobar out of the rotation. Buy now, and worst-case you drop him. The upside far outweighs the risk of taking him in the 2nd to last round of your draft. There's a lot more, but these are the glaring problems. Also, if some dork drops David Price in your league, pick him up.

Minnie Minoso in Cuba in the 70s?
- Good Lord... (Stephen Strasburg)
It was hilarious... last night on Baseball Tonight they featured this kid. They said he was can't miss, best prospect ever, blah blah. Then they compared him to other amazing college pitchers. Todd Van Poppel Mark Prior some other doofus I'm over the hype. The kid is sick, but he probably won't last 5 years in the Majors.- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) BTW, going back to last week, I don't know if anyone talked about it, but there was something almost everyone missed in "Namaste" When Sun and Frank are in talking with Christian, and he shows them the picture from 77, they show a shot of Sun, and there is a women behind her. I have the torrent of last weeks episode, and re-watched, and someone is totally there. Here is a semi-decent picture. If you can watch the video somewhere, check it out. Honestly, that looks like a screwup. Looks like a dude with headphones on working on the set.- Who Will be this year's Biggest Surprise?
I went with Fields and thought I'd be in the minority...- Films Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) The big 4 of the Stooges is Moe, Larry, Curly, and Shemp. Everyone after that is inferior. Of course. Stuff with the others bordered on unwatchable.- Well Water
Other drawbacks are that a lot of unincorporated areas can't be found on Google Maps!- Films Thread
QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 10:14 AM) I don't get, at all, how anybody could possibly see anything good coming out of a new Stooges flick, especially one with a cast such as that. I mean, people had a problem back then when Curly was replaced, and they replaced him with the original guy! Now we have a new film, with people playing the parts of the real people, and this is a good idea!?! Crazy man...absolutely crazy. It's 2009. It's not the 1950's. Anyone who gave a f*** about the Stooges when that replacement happened assuredly won't be the target audience here and is even more assuredly not even in the minds of the producers.- LOST!!!!
The action that just occurred obviously happened to big Ben in his past. He's been shot. Whoopteedoo. One thing I've learned is that you can never trust that someone is dead on Lost. However, to dispute a previous post (KYLE!)... people do die on the island (see Mr. Ecko, Charlie, Boone, Anna Lucia, Shannon, Ethan, Russeau, Libby, etc etc). This does not mean Ben is dead, though. Tiny Ben will be alive, though they will make us believe he's not, and eventually we'll see that, duh, if Big Ben is still kickin', then Tiny Ben sure didn't die.- Films Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 09:51 PM) That is very random casting that is rumored. That'd be awesome.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
AJ 1, Brian 0 Kirk had better be gone this off-season. You don't pay a backup 10 mill per.- David Price will start in minors
There's a lot of talent in the AL East. I don't think they are sending him down because of the Arb clock, I think they'll send him down because for the first few weeks you rarely need a 5th starter. They probably want to keep him on a regular schedule. To stay competitive, Price will be up here no later than the final week of April. So... it's a non-issue in terms of real-life, and in fantasy I'd hold onto him.- Uncle Bud Rips USA's WBC Effort
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 08:28 AM) If I'm an owner and negotiating contracts, I'm doing the opposite of what Bud wants and asking players to put clauses in their contracts promising they won't play in the WBC That. Selig can kiss my ass. Enjoy Japan thinking they are the greatest now because this is their World Series. It's SPRING TRAINING for American ballplayers (and other MLB players on other squads).- I love you Bobby Jenks
- Rosenthal: Melky Cabrera is on the block; Sox would be good fit
I'd like Melky depending on cost.- Is Curt Schilling a hall of famer?
Dude. Schilling is a lock for the HoF in my opinion.- Films Thread
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 05:03 PM) A lot of people have to understand is these movies are geared towards couples. Think about it. If you're going with your wife or girlfriend, this movie isn't a bad option at all. It's something that will keep you interested. Now if it's just a bunch of guys and such, then I Love You Man might be kind of weird and might not interest you.I went with my wife. We both agreed it was disappointing and that the funny parts are all in the previews. - Good Lord... (Stephen Strasburg)
