  1. It was started to give props to the finest manager in the game.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) I think they are looking at what is available as far as free agents and probably realizing its better to pay JD than to give Aaron Rowand pretty close to Garry Matthews Jr. money. The thing that is scaring me is it seems the Sox may be bringing back basically the same team again next year except subtract Pods, Iguchi, maybe Crede, add Fields, Richar, Owens. I still think that isn't good enough. I hope KW has something big up his sleeve. ARod. Seriously. They've got to make a major run at him or they're a fraudulent organization.
  3. Wow. Willie Harris just robbed Delgado of a HR to preserve the win for the Braves vs. the Mets. Willie!!!
  4. It's a shame the Sox won't put the best broadcasting team out there and instead employ "projects" who never develop.
  5. MB doesn't want to make his boyfriend Garland feel bad, so he's going to give all back tonight.
  6. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Don't look now, but over the past ten games the White Sox have the best record in the AL Central. Yeah, baby! We're gonna win this thing. Dare to dream!!!
  7. Nice job to hang in there and win it when everything blew up. JD!!!!!!
  8. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) I remember Hawk getting a question in the booth a few years ago about ducksnort's origin. Hawk said when he played they called it a 'duck...passing gas' as only Hawk could say because you couldn't say fart on the air. Apparently they told him it's ok and he is going with it. Ducksnort sounded better. I was thinking the other day: what ever happened to those email questions they used to take on the air. Don't they do it any more, or have I just not watched enuf of the 'GN games?
  9. OK. I've seen enough of uribe too. I've been more supportive than most of you guys, but he's a joke the way he swings at every gd pitch
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) AHAHAHA. ERSTAD DOWN AGAIN! HAHA! This is freaking surreal.
  11. I've seen enough of Alex Cintron. Please get rid of him. How can someone like him swing at the first pitch every time?
  12. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) and here goes Big Jon. It is insane by ridiculous proportions how we give up runs as soon as we score em. OMG...I started this post when Jon let the first three guys on in the Bot of the 3rd and gave up 1 run, I then had to leave my desk and I never finished the post. Now I get back and they f***in tied it up .....OMG HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! This team must lead the league in giving back runs the next half inning. I wonder if that could be tracked.
  13. Right, Justin, and there are top NFL picks that have been busts, but I don't think the best strategy for the Sox is to tank the season in the hope of getting a top pick who may take years to see the majors.
  14. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) is anyone else really hoping we lose every game and get the worst record in baseball? You know, I can understand wanting to see the team win if we got quite a few prospects and were going to play them on the ML roster, cause you'd like to see the prospects develop and win at an ML level, but we only really have 2 position prospects worth a damn up right now, so it doesn't matter. As it stands right now, we really need the no. 1 pick and pray to god that the top player in the draft, probably Pedro Alveras, does not have Boras as their agent. But it looks like those bastard Devil Rays are gonna get the 1st pick again, and if not them it would be San Francisco. Well, here is to hoping we lose most of our games for the rest of the season. No. This isn't the NFL where a top draft choice can turn around a franchise. I want to see the team finish strong.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 06:08 AM) Rex had a decent year in his first full year, and by Bears QB standards he still is way at the top of the list(which isnt saying too much, but still). Rex will have more weapons to his disposal, another year with the same OC and the same playbook, and hopefully a little confidence more than cockiness after having a Superbowl year last year. The premise of the season will still be the same, the defense will do what they do and Rex really only has to manage the game, but the prospects of the offense are really exciting this year. If Rex can turn some of those total stinker games into merely mediocre games, his numbers will be through the roof. Rex won us some games last year. St. Louis comes to mind, when the D couldn't stop them.
  16. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 01:04 PM) Does anyone have a picture of this guy ? I'd like to see what he looks like since I know I'll never see him on the Southside. Suitable for framing.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) For a couple games a week, for THIS year, Mack will do. Apparently, not.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 12:52 PM) Were people seriously expecting us to get a good prospect for Mackowiak? No. I wasn't. I am realistic.
  19. Remember where you were when the Jon Link era began in White Sox history.
  20. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 12:48 PM) Anyone have a link ? Appears the Sox do, now.
  21. I don't get this one, but maybe it will make sense as things develop...
