  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) The GG, like the Heisman and most other media-voted awards, is absolute garbage. There is no correlation between winning it and being what the winner was intended to be. It's voted on by managers and coaches. For Crede to win, he has to unseat the incumbent and have a clear cut edge. Crede committed 10 errors, Chavez 5. If you want Joe to win, vote here: http://whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/awa.../tyib/index.jsp
  2. No Lastings. I've watched him in NY and he has problems.
  3. I'm concerned that Joe's September slump was due to his bad back. I'd string him along and not sign a long term deal. By 2008, we can plug in Fields.
  4. It was said to watch WGN today and here them say for the last time...World Champion Chicago White Sox baseball is brought to you by...
  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) Can I have "Ryan Sweeney" for 500? (or hell, Ross Gload) Please no more "learn while you earn" outfielders for 2007. Been there, done that with Anderson. I've always like Catalanatto...always a tough out, but if he can't hit lefties forget it.
  6. Jon did his Loiza impression this year...racking up wins...losing three straight when we desperately needed him...winning when it doesn't matter.
  7. The Tigers. Minnesota is my most disliked team. The Yankees? Yeah, right. Oakland. Not thanks, Billy ball. Don't have any feelings for NL teams. My best friend is a Tiger fan and I don't have a great deal of dislike for them. Would kind of hurt to see Maggs holding the trophy.
  8. This is going to be an incredibly challenging offseason for Kenny. His chances of making a move that turns out to be a bust are about 100%. If he trades Garcia, as expected, "Big Game" could possibly pick up where he left off in September and return to form in 2007. Same story for all the starters...can anyone predict who will be good next year and who will be lousy? I'd like to see Crawford for Pods. Dye should stay.
  9. Ross Gload stole a base, but Pods was caught? Kinda says it all about this season.
  10. (Can you pick the starter that needs to go?) What seemed like a pretty cut and dried decision a few weeks ago: dump Garcia, Vasquez or both...has become muddled, hasn't it? KW has extremely tough decisions to make with the starting staff and almost certainly will get it wrong. How can you predict whether MB will regain his form, Contreres will bounce back from injuries, the Garcia we saw at the end of the year is the real deal, Vasquez can be relied on and whether Jon will be April Jon, August Jon or September Jon. I don't have confidence in any of the starters, yet any of them could turn in very productive performances next year. I can't believe how the entire starting staff is in turmoil for next year.
  11. I still believe they can make the playoffs. So much negativity on this board! But, if they don't, here's why: Jim Thome couldn't repeat his first half performance in the second half. Bad pitching. Joe Crede didn't work magic. Uribe, Anderson, Pods, Iguchi combination didn't hit for much of the season. Every team in the league wanted to knock us off every game.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) I assume that stems from the fact that our division has Minny (Johan and Liriano), Cleveland (Lee and Sabathia), Detroit (Rogers, Robertson), and than KC (Odalis Perez, Mark Redman). Wow. Joe Borchard could be going to the playoffs, too.
  13. El Duque is the first 2005 World Champion to make a return trip to the post season. Who else? Geoff Blum? Frank Thomas? Aaron Rowand? Jose Contreras?
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) And we haven't won 3 in a row since...
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) Looks like it might be important to keep Fields around as of now...
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) As far as I know, the "rolls" of the die haven't happened yet. They will roll dice to determine home field advantage for each potential playoff game at some point, this week I would guess. In the event of a 3 game playoff, the team that won 2 rolls would play the 2nd game. The teams that lost at least 1 roll would play in the first game. The winner of the first game would be in. The loser of the 1st game would play the other team in a single game, on the road. The winner of that game becomes the 2nd playoff team.
  17. QUOTE(WCSox @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) Soriano in a Sox uniform would be awesome,
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) The one thing I will say that was nice to see, was scoring almost the whole game.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) I'll always respect Ditka and I'll always respect Ozzie. Love 'em both and what they did for the greatest city in the United States, a city without a baseball title until Oz and the White Sox kicked some postseason ass.
  20. Dull broadcast, but I enjoyed Black Jack. Honest comments. Nicked Ozzie for pulling Jon too soon.
  21. QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) im afraid of bonderman me too
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 06:42 AM) It is incredible that Hermanson is back pitching again. I am in shock.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) I think its just not comfortable yet for him.
