QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) Most of the teams in this tournament have struggled shooting. I wonder if it has anything to do with the UC being so huge and the stands not being full. They also have the ribbon boards constantly circling. For those who have played basketball, backgrounds make a huge difference when playing. Its harder to shoot at a basket that seems like its standing in the middle of nowhere. They should do what they do at the Staples Center for the Lakers. Dim the lights in the stands. At least at both ends. Perception is definitely different in bigger stadiums/domes. But crowd doesn't have a lot to do with it, both games today are packed, yesterday's morning and second game were almost completely full in the 100 and 200 levels.

Badger after watching the first half I agree, this should have been the primetime game.
-
Sometimes I watch Wisconsin and wonder how they ever win a game. And I thought our first half of offense was bad. Wow.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:48 PM) There is the flaw in your family. In the South, the football schedule is reviewed before fall weddings are scheduled. Typically only done days of bye weeks, road games or cream puffs. Every once in awhile someone screws up and attendance is low. lol People who schedule fall weddings are assholes.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:29 PM) Right which is why it makes sense to inverse the order, so that Illinois game was last night. And thus the night games today are the potential 4/5 (usually best game) and then 1/8 (has the top seed) Same thing applies. 5/12 matchup is there too. It's hard to say doing it either way is the "right" way to do it. You could have a terrible 1/8 primetime game in there too, which I imagine most times it is. I just don't see the big deal about order they play in, I think it's only coming up because Wisconsin plays right now. No one's really all jacked up to schedule a tournament around the 4/5 game most years.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) Um I meant Indiana gets 2 more hours of rest than Wisconsin/Michigan. I personally hate the morning games in tournaments. I always preferred late games, even if that meant that I got less rest the next day. Rest doesnt matter if you get upset at 11 am. Well you have to play one side of the bracket in the morning and one at night. In a year like this sure the 4/5 is the best...might not always be the prime time match you'd want, plus the 1/8 is probably a blowout most of the time. You're also playing an opponent this morning that played at 11am yesterday. Illinois for sure would have loved to play at 8pm tonight.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) If I was the 1 seed id rather play the early night game and then get the late afternoon game on Saturday. Indiana gets 2 hours extra rest, not exactly life changing. Wrong. If you play the early night game, it's over at 7:30. That's 6.5 hours extra rest in a tournament where you are trying to win 3 games in 3 days. Yes it's 2 hours compared to your opponent. Generally tournaments give #1 seeds the most rest as it is an advantage.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) Yeah, I can't wait to watch NC St/Virginia either.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) Exactly Wont most years the 4-5 game be the best game of the day? In the same way that the 1/8 would usually be the worst game of the day... Also, 1 seed gets the most rest by having their side play in the morning each time.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) Kind of silly that they scheduled the Wisconsin- Michigan game during the day. Should have been prime time as the other games are much less interesting. The bracket is pre-determined, all based on seeding.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) INDIANA IS BACK BTT QUARTERFINAL CHAMPS #1 HOOSIERS!!! #BANNERSIX #BTOWN4LYFE Iowa would probably hang a banner for that. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) Well, that was better than last time. I disagree. No floor rush = not better.
-
DJ and Brandon, 4-23. Now we'll wait to see if we're a 7 or an 8 seed.
-
Just hope Crean doesn't cut the nets down, Michigan/Wisconsin have to play in a half hour.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) That was a terrible possession for Illinois. Ferrell bailed them out with the foul. Krush, Dakich was asked on his radio show the other day why he's nice when broadcasting games but such a jerk on his show. His answer "I'm just the real me. Everybody that knows me personally knows I'm generally a jackass". LOL. Sometimes Dakich is pretty good, can teach you a thing or two. Sometimes he makes you go "wtf." Tirico is really good so that helps the whole broadcast.

Ultimately you can't win games when you keep shooting at this rate. Same thing yesterday, we just played a weaker team that turned it over 50 times.
-
Paul needs to find a way to keep scoring, hit a few shots. Abrams has taken 14 shots. Yikes.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:38 PM) Everybody's pretty much getting along today, what's wrong Go f*** yourself.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:36 PM) I understand your frustration. I was also about to say I told you so until Illinois missed those two 3's. Still too close with too much time left. We needed one of those to drop. We've cut it to 10 about 78 times this half. You and I both know you get it to 5-6 and IU could get tight again...but we can't get it there.
-
QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) LOL, I was being more general in nature. He's smooth using the left hand and that's not something a lot of kids can do well, open layup or not. I'm not sure I agree with you on the feel. I think the only difference is the game isn't in Champaign. Maybe that's enough. But if Illinois can hit 2 or 3's in a row, the momentum could swing quickly. I'd be much more comfortable if we were up 18-20 right now. A 10-12 point lead scares me because I think this team goes on cruise control sometimes. I'm hoping they learned from the last Illinois game. I wasn't trying to take away from him, he's had some good finishes, we just keep letting him have open ones too.
-
If you told me Oladipo and Hulls had a combined 2 points this late in the game, I'd say we're probably tied at worst.
-
Here's a prediction: If IU scores every time down the floor, we will not win the game.
-
QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) Yogi Ferrell is as good with using his left hand as I have seen in a freshman, esp for a PG. This game feels a lot like the first game at Illinois. Indiana controlled most of the game, but let Illinois hang around and didn't put them away. Credit Illinois for not quitting and finding a way to get hot late. Let's hope that doesn't happen again! Yogi Ferrell's also really good at making uncontested layups. f*** you could make a drinking game out of it. Here's the lane, why don't you take it. Rex I see nothing that leads me to believe we can actually get back in this, unless we make 2-3 3's in a row or something. To me, this doesn't have the same feel.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 08:40 PM) Surely you can't be serious. Of course not. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) 8-10 or 9-9... or even 10-8. Records are deceiving because of unbalanced conference schedules. That's why they look at the whole body or work, not just the conference season. Iowa screwed themselves by playing NOBODY in the non-conference part of the schedule. The committee has said year after year, if you don't schedule good teams, there is no automatic benchmark for qualification, aka 20 wins or .500 in conference play. The tournament is perfect as it is. The whole regular season matters. There is a good mix of little guys and major schools. It is entertainment at its best! The only change I would make would be with the conference tournaments in the smaller school leagues. Neutral sites don't work in the smallest of leagues. The team that wins the conference should be awarded a home court advantage. There are a lot of ways to do it, but that would help protect the Middle Tennessee's of the basketball world. Stop being logical and worry about losing tomorrow morning.

It's not even a school color. Dumb in all ways. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 06:41 PM) I say this every time someone brings up expanding the tourney but ill say it again...it's the most perfect thing in sports leave it the f*** alone. False, MLB all-star game.
