  1. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 08:16 AM) I started watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix. Can't stop watching it. I don't know why I didn't watch it when it was on, but now I can binge watch. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:00 AM) One of my top 10 shows. I watched it from the start, but I feel like everyone bailed on it after the first episode. And agreed, it was really good. The League was OK last night, some good laughs, wasn't terrible. JJ Watt had a ton of air time.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 11:58 PM) Definitely Illinois pitch. Recruiting is crazy and the negative s*** out there is horrible lies most of the time. Playing time is a non-issue for one of them coming, but even if both crazily decided to come, it still wouldn't be a huge issue. From what I know, Groce doesn't do negative recruiting. I think some coaches just simply won't do it. And, I think some recruits can be turned off by it. But yeah, recruiting is crazy.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 11:09 PM) Haha, I was referring to the attendance factor, I totally forgot about the whole too small end zone problem. End zone was big enough, but you only had from here..................to here from the end zone to the back wall. #NUFAIL
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 11:53 PM) My dog still gets riled up when someone rings the doorbell, but overall she is so much happier in space and not having to go down an elevator to go out (I can let her out into our fenced yard). WE'll have to grab a beer down there sometime and catch up. Love Elmhurt, my wife used to work at Armands. No doubt, one of the best parts about having a house is not having to lug on s*** and go down an elevator to let the dog out. It's not such a process anymore.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) You are going to a larger place right? My dog calmed down a lot when we moved to the burbs. Yeah we're in Elmhurst now, bigger place, and yeah she has calmed down a lot. Not sure if it's just all the extra space or what but it's helped a ton.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) I'm sure it's too small but an OSU/ND game there would be one of the hottest tickets ever in Chicago. And I would stay a minimum 50 miles away from Wrigleyville. Gee, what gives you that idea?
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 10:28 PM) It seems to matter not what I do in fantasy these days. No matter my choice it goes wrong. I pick this turd Eddie Lacy, and he's worthless week one and gets a concussion. Whatever I do, I just wind up disappointed. Meanwhile, everyone who took beast mode (incliding) my opponent just gets to laugh and laugh. f*** fantasy. That said, LOL Packers. Also Holy f*** the Seahawks are good. Nothing will beat facing Manning in last year's opener. I wanted to quit fantasy forever.
  8. QUOTE (TRU @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) I dont know if anyone saw this or not, but Josh Gordon might have a chance to be reinstated and miss no time at all this year. The NFL and NFLPA are about to agree to HGH testing with some changing of the rules for drug testing which would include raising the fail limit for marijuana tests which would make Gordons failed test, not failed, and thus no longer suspended. That'd be crazy.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 06:10 PM) I hope Brian's dog eventually crapped. Hopefully Krush eventually got his dog to stop barking. My boys have finally stopped eating the house and the contents within, so that is nice. Now that she's a bit older she's gotten a lot better with it. We did some spraying, that worked for a bit, but the best thing we did was do the coins-in-an-empty-can-and-shake thing, that really slowed it down.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) It's meant to trade for so whole year. White, not close

  12. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 11:55 PM) Indeed. I think this team is gonna be the one I have the most questions about on here with all those RBs. Example, even though I drafted Tate and MJD before Thomas, I think I like Thomas a little better in a PPR. Esp. with Sproles gone. I'm debating who to start this week. Hindsight that kinda sounds dumb. You aren't in bad shape at RB. Vereen will be a top 10 RB in PPR. Thomas will likely be a top 20, last year he was 16th, and Sproles all all those targets are gone. You've got plenty of guys to mix and match.
  13. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 09:53 AM) Illini favored by 6 over WKY? I saw both their games and don't understand that at all. Talk about tempting . . . I read somewhere that it opened at Illinois favored by 1.5 then quickly went up to 7. No idea.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 04:34 PM) Illinois in Bragg's final 5 And Tatum's Top 10 (2016). Someone come here.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 07:46 PM) Some guys are just not as good as their numbers say, whether it is a flaw in the numbers, or whatever else can be argued. Edwin Jackson is one of those guys. Incredible stuff, just never quite realized how to use it. Saw some splits on him not long ago that showed his major problem is the first inning, almost every single time. If you can somehow figure out how to not make it disastrous every time out, he'd be much more valuable.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Illini bball has a committ Yup, DJ Williams and Aaron Jordan.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 07:44 PM) Any leagues penalize people the week after if they play a guy on bye? I'm thinking of doing -3 per player or something. I have one guy, who I want to boot but gave another chance, that doesn't pay attention and pays after the season. We kick guys like that out of the league.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) Yep. Couldn't they just run Gordon until the clock ran out. No, let's give him 3 carries or whatever in the 2nd half. This is just me, but after last night's struggle, I think they should try something different at QB. Maybe grab a safety or something and let him start. Mix it up a bit.
  19. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:45 AM) Had a draft last night. Started an hour late because a guy was traveling for work. I'm ok with that. But what's with guys taking three minutes to take a pick? It literally takes me fifteen seconds. Narrow your options as your turn approaches. Eliminate names as they're picked and make your choice immediately. It's not a life/death decision. Draft took almost 3.5 hours - plus the hour delay. Oh, and ther were a few of us doing it online while the rest gathered at a friend's house. I logged into the draft room twenty minutes before he draft. Five hours total time spent. Even if people get together, run it through Yahoo or ESPN, set the time limit at 1:00 or :30 or whatever you want, and that will force the draft to move quicker. Zero reason not to do that.
  20. Looking ahead to next week for Illinois, the Western Kentucky QB just put up 569 and 6 TDs against Bowling Green. So yeah.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) isn't his beer terrible? It's cheap, it has a high alcohol content, and it's better than Miller/Coors/Bud. I prefer it over those if I'm drinking cheap beer.
  22. Let's all think back to last winter, and having the Bears play some games in January and February. Terrible idea. I don't want to watch snow football in below zero weather, even if I'm not at the game. I'd rather have a good product out there to watch on TV.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 10:40 AM) People hear what they want to hear when it comes to Hawk. For one thing, the TWTW stuff. If it is sabermetrics that values working counts and getting walks, guess who has been humming that since way before sabermetrics was even a word? White Sox fans have learned more about baseball listening to Hawk then Cubs fans have listening to good ole' Len. But Len does tell you what you need to put on your IPod. There are a lot of things about the game that people don't even think twice about, call things certain things, look for certain things, that even the Hawk haters don't even realize and probably will never admit, they got from him. I hear what comes through my television speakers. And this year it's been nonsense to a level it has never reached previously. He may have taught a lot of stuff before, now he's just a crazy man who wants to turn everything into some grandiose proclamation that doesn't make any sense. But yes, Hawk was the first one in baseball who thought the walk was a good idea. That's the point. It's not that people didn't like Hawk before, but the time has come to move forward.
  24. Illinois is in it, I just don't expect him to make any decision for a few weeks. Doesn't mean I won't be hoping for the surprise, but I don't think it's any sort of negative if he leaves without a commitment. Still means they are in it as long as the visit goes well.
