    magicJack

    Anyone use/used magicJack? Thoughts?
  2. I'd rather kill myself than spend $500 to eat a meal.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Zeller needs to get his hand up there but I absolutely hate switching in that situation. Bad play by zeller just not a situation he should have been put in. Hands up plus pressure him, make him drive with such little time left, it would have been a running shot. He played it like it was a 1st half run of the mill possession, not aware of time and score. But yes, they sucked on screens all night.
  4. Wow, Zeller on the last 3 possessions of the game: Put a missed three into own hoop for 2 points. Miss 2nd free throw after being fouled on the inbound. Let Rivers have 25 feet to obviously shoot a 3 even though there are only 3 seconds left.
  5. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Being soft or missing Carcillo? They do not make the other team work hard and they are no longer doing the gritty type of things that they used to do. I think Carcillo is a meathead but they need somebody to make the other team think a little about getting hit. Carcillo. Not the problem.
  6. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 7, 2012 -> 10:16 PM) This team is very soft maybe carcillo is missed. Out of everything going wrong/lacking, this isn't one of those things. At all.
  7. Anyone who stuck with Alcatraz, pretty good episode tonight.
  8. Ahem, it is the "SC Highlight of the Night" right now on espn.com. Bizarre.
  9. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) Agreed, unfortunately Sam will most likely play a ton again. The Illini are 0-3 since he's come back from injury. Coincidence? I don't think so.... He's not nearly 100%. Bruce needs to treat the situation as such. He's not as explosive as he used to be. ******** I think we lose and the season goes more or less down the drain and s*** really starts to hit the fan. Sure hope I'm wrong. At least A Section people who always wear blue will fit in tonight.
  10. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) A loss is a loss. I cannot see any situation where a losing team deserves points. It diminishes the value of a win. A loss is a loss unless it's in a gimmicky skills competition.
  11. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 09:42 AM) I want fewer points awarded, not more. I see it like this: Regulation win = 2 points OT or shootout win = 1 point Loss = 0 points. I don't believe a team should ever be awarded points for a loss. There needs to be less points (well or at least equal points for every game...do 3) but you absolutely cannot give a team zero points for losing in a shootout...unless regulation losses are worth -1 or something. A team that wins in regulation shouldn't earn as much as a team that wins in a shootout, so the same should be the case for the loser.
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 12:11 AM) I thought it was lame. And someone needs to tell him that if NBC wants to mic you up then converse with the commentators and stop saying "you'll have to wait and see". He had the personality of a dead moth out there. I know hockey is pretty limited in what it can do for an events challenge but these festivities are pretty played out. Limited? It can and does more than any other sport by a wide margin. They've also changed up events over the years, so obviously you haven't been watching. Also, the HR derby is beyond boring.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 10:39 AM) I know we've gotten into it before, but which of the following statements would you make if the USA beat Serbia in any particular sport? a.) We lost b.) We won It's like the World Cup where idiots all over are rooting for other countries. Yup, you live here.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) Wow, what a touching memorial service for a great man. What a joke.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) But right now, there are likely people who played a role in this, who are sitting comfortably in their homes, not worried because no one seems to care about getting to the bottom. This is the height of irony, you just described 10 years of Joe Paterno's life. And with that, you should be done.
  16. See it's not what he originally did, what he originally reported. Every day, every year for almost 10 YEARS Paterno saw Sandusky, saw him with boys, saw him on campus, using FOOTBALL FACILITIES to help get his victims, every single time he didn't say something, he helped make the problem bigger and bigger. Ignoring it for the sake of the program, for fear of what could happened. He could have woke up on ANY one of those days and done something else. He didn't. If it was someone he knew, I bet he would have done something. But since it wasn't, he didn't. That's the problem. That IS someone's kid, even if it's not yours. The fact that he acted differently since it wasn't tells you all you need to know.
  17. Mainly for SoxbadgerPaterno, but everyone can read: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/01/22/ber...ms-not-paterno/ Congrats on doing the right thing according to the law but not the right thing according to morals and being a f***ing human being. For year after year after year after year.
  18. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 05:19 PM) if it were the law then the only people attending the games would be a bunch of single guys wearing jogging pants with mustard stains on them. I don't think you've read what I'm referring to.
  19. Why shouldn't there be hype? It makes travel impossible, it effects a lot of business, people, etc. It's 4 hours from Lake Cook to the circle. That doesn't deserve attention?
  20. Simmon's first part in "Now I can Die In Peace" has a great explanation of the only legit reasons to be a fan of the team. Wish it were the law.
  21. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 07:10 AM) ILL ? Where is IlliniKrush? Karmas a b**** Karma was talking crap about not having any trouble with Illinois, then losing the next one. At least we haven't lost 3 in a row yet.
  22. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) Maybe not, but Duke did the same thing at OSU. I saw this coming. Indiana won't have a problem with Illinois. Just like they didn't have a problem with Minnesota. It's easy to talk when you don't have to make the return trip, too.
