  1. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 19, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) so I'm definitely hooked on Tecmo Super Bowl. Is that possibly the greatest video game ever? http://www.everyvideogame.com Yes
  2. QUOTE(danman31 @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) What about when Corey Bradford was a freshman and they were towards the bottom of the conference? I was referring to mainly the off the court problems for this team. Bad injuries (near death even), the number of injuries, suspensions, recruiting, guys not finishing the year, sickness/disease, etc. Then you throw in the bad basketball, and it's pretty terrible.
  3. If this team can get Zues signed for next year (and we'll assume he's back to full strength), Toews and Skille up (we'll assume they are ready), and sign 1-2 top 9 forwards (hopefully at least one of them being a top 3 forward), the offense will be good to go for next year. No reason it can't be at least league average, especially with an improved power play. Get rid of Aucoin and Cully (and maybe even Vandy) on the D, perhaps sign one defenseman in the 3-4 range to play with all the youngsters, and you have a defense that will only get better and better with each game. Habby i'm still up in the air about. Lalime still has a ton to prove. I realize Habby is making a ton of money, but what if next year we actually have a playoff team, and then find ourselves without a 'proven' goaltender? I'm not totally opposed to dealing him, it just really matters what we'd get in return. Where as with other guys, i'm fine dealing them for pretty much whatever. Dale still has 10 days til the deadline. He better accomplish something positive going into the offseason, and there's about 5-6 guys you could easily look to try to unload.
  4. Yeah i started to see this yesterday. This has to be one of the worst weeks in the history of illinois basketball, or at least one of the worst years in the history of illinois basketball.
  5. Yeah he anticipated that they'd be there and bought the ticket before the games were actually out. I agree with you on the atmosphere thing, it's definitely cool.
  6. Justin is literally first row behind the SIll bench if i'm seeing this correctly, haha
  7. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 01:45 AM) And anything that dances at halftime of sports games outside the cheerleaders is a mascot. Not really. Far, far from a mascot in today's college world. A mascot is like Purdue Pete or Sparty who runs around the sideline high fiving fans, leading cheers, going nuts on camera, and doing stunts with students and cheerldears alike. You can hate the Chief all you want, but to use that definition is terrible.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) That thing needs to be shot and killed. I'll second that. It's frat-tastic.
  9. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 06:28 PM) This is almost as bad as the end of Unofficial. Sorry gang, but a special day does not make getting drunk at 8 am okay. It's just an excuse the kids had to be raging drunks and I did nothing but laugh as some kids likened the end of Unofficial to the civil rights movement of the 1950s. Unofficial didn't really go anywhere and probably never will. People will still celebrate it, whether the university 'recognizes' it or not. The problem comes when people decide to ride motorcycles, etc. while drunk. It's certainly not civil rights movement worthy, agreed, but it's college, and kids are going to have some fun. If you don't like it, no one forces you to participate. Sometimes I think you try to paint U of I as the only school that has retards that like to drink. We all could do without the insane number of stupid frats, sure, but it's college. BTW, the Chief was never a mascot.
  10. Had the upper hand in that period. Forecheck was good, puck possession was solid. Now to solve Luongo. That stop on Arkhipov, UGH.
  11. Works for me Hawks on csn at home vs the Canucks, starting up right now.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) A marquette fan beat the crap out of Chicago sports broadcaster chet coppock after the DePaul - marquette game, apparently for no reason...nice... I guess CWSGuy couldn't find a locker quickly enough
  13. I totally get why FSU has it, but it's clearly not consistent with what the NCAA is seemingly trying to accomplish. Their mascot is way more 'hostile' than ours, but it stays. NCAA doesn't make sense with many things for many years, so what else is new. You know the donor thing is going to happen. I think I read somewhere last year that they'd lose about 10% of donations. That's quite a number when you put it into actual dollar figures, i'm sure. And, the university is trying to raise billions right now for various renovations, IIRC. Not a good start. I'll be interested to see what happens around campus this week, if anything.
  14. Great, stayed away from the Wings. The Preds have 2 solid, solid scoring lines. If Vokoun can stay healthy this year, they are setup to make a Cup run, especially if they can hold off Detroit for the one seed.
  15. Well who didn't see this one coming, final home basketball game this season as the final performance. Anyway, i still think it's complete bulls*** that a longstanding university tradition (81 years) has to hit the road. I really don't see what it's going to accomplish from the NCAA's perspective (again, FSU can keep their 'hostile' mascot, blah blah blah). At least the name won't change from 'fighting illini' (correct me if i'm wrong). Tons of people won't be donating now, so I hope the university is ready to deal with that.
  16. Symptoms: Hands feel cold to others Knuckles are swollen (can see little veins) Tops of finger rips look red compared to rest of finger No pain, no tingling, can still feel pain and hot/cold sensation Have not been outside Anyone know what this could be and if it's a big deal?
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) At the moment, they really shouldn't. They'll get 4 though, Illinois will get in. After this latest incident, I highly, highly doubt it. Mental/emotional state of the team? Bye bye. Hell, i honestly wouldn't be absolutely shocked if we were to lose on Sunday.
  18. A lot of this just doesn't add up now. After seeing the pictures of his car, it appears to me that he was going too fast for whatever conditions were out there. I mean, even with a spin before hitting the tree, it looks THAT bad? Hiring a lawyer seems like it could be OK, that didn't really worry me. The 101 info worries me a bit, I did not know that about the lawyer. And then i'm hearing he's packing his bags and taking off to Peoria? Seems a bit odd, no? And finally, what was he doing driving around in THAT car after that accident? Did he not realize how injured Brian was...or even how bad the car was? If i had nothing to hide, I would have been calling 911 immediately. And if my phone broke, i would have been out flagging down help, or running to the nearest house, something besides driving back to my apartment, however near or far. There's just a lot of things that don't exactly look right at the current moment. I hope this was just perhaps speeding in bad weather or something, but I do certainly have my doubts right now.
  19. Latest Bracketology (stealing Justin's job): http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
  20. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) 2nd snow day in a row for this kid. college is fun Didn't know you had internet in your hole.
  21. What's with Nascar Now being on ESPN at 4:00-5:00 instead of ATH and PTI? Is this permanent?
  22. In reference to my listing of players that have been injured this year: QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) Excuses excuses... In response to the badger's posting about kstate vs illinois resume QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) Kstate also lost their best player for the entire year. I would give the nod to K-State, at least they beat a top 25 team on the road.
  23. Players who have been injured this year: Arnold Carlwell Carter Frazier Pruitt Randle Semrau Smith Players who have been suspended: McBride Players who have had nothing wrong with them: Brock Hicks (never plays) Jackson (never plays) Meacham
