Most of Zook's guys have signed so far. I think it's down to 4 unsigned right now.

Havlat scored 2 PP goals in the final 3 minutes of regulation, including the game tying goal with 28 seconds left, then scored again in the shootout (along with Hamilton) to help the Hawks steal one in Calgary 3-2.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) It'd be nice if they'd show some WAC/MWC games instead of Gonzaga every Monday night. Pot kettle something... -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) You do NOT love Gonzaga, ok?? Nobody does. Like you have room to talk Dukie -
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) i'll be interested to see what zook does with the talent. his spin has always been that he hasn't had a chance to coach his players when they reached maturity. at illinois he'll probably get his chance, so we'll see how he does. either way they need to win more games this year. if they don't at least threaten a bowl appearance i think the program will be a harder sell to recruits next offseason. It's almost to the point of bowl or bust, but i guess i won't go that far yet. Either way, this year better be a lot better than the last two. They need to start competing for an entire 60 minutes each and every game, that's what I want to see. They should have the talent to do so now, and Juice has a year under his belt (though i'm still REALLY suspect of his passing ability).

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 06:56 PM) If it was posted in this thread, feel free. But you seem to be wanting to link from outside boards. That is apples and oranges. Actually it's not, as much as you like to think it is.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) Where am I "making s*** up." If you would like me to link back to where a Soxtalk member posted a link that said "brewster was staying at Illinios" as definitive evidence that it was going to happen, I will. Otherwise your dramatics arent needed here. It was pretty apparent this would happen, and I wasted a good night having to argue about it. You know what please do, then call out that poster. Or i'm going to start linking every stupid Wisky comment i ever see on the internet to you.

Today just doesn't feel that cold compared to Saturday with the ridiculous winds. Saturday was the coldest day I can remember, at least recently.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 12:28 PM) And to make it all that much better, the Hawks blew a 4-1 lead in game 1 of the Finals to get that ball rolling downhill. I'll never forget Jagr's tying goal - he went around 3 Hawks from the side boards to the slot and backhanded one past Belfour. Unreal. I still remember that like it was yesterday. That's the flashback i was referring to in my earlier post. Ugh...

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 08:33 AM) Ditto. Looked it up though, they did indeed lose in the Stanley Cup finals in 1992. Thanks for the flashback.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) WRONG. Sorry, but Manning and the Colts D did not beat the Bears. The Bears today truly did beat themselves. (Thats not taking anything away from the Colts. I'm really not trying to do that at all) I just don't believe the Colts were clearly better. First downs 24-11 (With three minutes left in the third quarter, the Colts had 20 first downs, the Bears 4) Yards 430-265 Bears had 10 offensive points. Sure it was a 'game' til the Colts opened it up in the 4th quarter, but the Colts controlled the game the entire time. Could have been a blowout if the Colts got into the endzone in the 3rd quarter instead of settling for short FG's. The Bears didn't play that well, but they got outplayed all over the field (as did the coaches). The better team won. I can't look back on this game and say the Bears beat themselves. Could they have played a bit better sure (Colts could have as well), but they got beat up.

Brewster decommitted from Ill, not a big surprise. Hopefully still a monster class coming this week.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) I'm sorry, Tony, but the defense is as much to blame as the offense. For one, the defensive line got man-handled from the instant they were on the field. I can't believe how many times I saw a Bear defensive lineman pushed five yards back by a Colt lineman. The Manning mistake on the Colts' first TD pass is inexcusable. You CAN'T do that in any game, much less the SuperBowl. Terrible time to have a mental mistake. I'm not calling for his head, I understand he's a rookie, but that was really bad. The linebacking core wasn't very good, either. Briggs played okay, but Hillenmyer and Urlacher missed their fair share of tackles. Kudos to Tillman and Vasher, who I thought contained Wayne and Harrison reasonably well. I do agree with your general point that we pissed away that game, and I think a lot of that starts with the gameplans from our coordinators. Defensively, we rarely blitzed and thought that we could get pressure with our front four, despite the fact that they were getting owned from the very beginning. Offensively, there's a lot of subtle things about Turner that bug me. Lack of a commitment to the run game. Wierd types of pass plays. Lack of the shotgun. I pretty much agree with everything here Keith. BTW, I got sick of Turner's crap down at U of I, and though he makes for a better OC than a college head coach, i still don't like him. Also, the Hayden INT TD was really ironic for any of us Illini/Bears fans. It made it even that more ridiculous.

QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 01:02 PM) no he wasn't, I thought he quit after the last episode, but apparently not. I also thought it was only an ok episode, there have been much better. Did you even see the episode with all the Grey's Anatomy you watched last night?

Where's the party on Sunday?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) I guess I'm a loser, but for the SB, I am watching it with my dad. My GF is having a huge SB party at her house, but I just don't want to watch it with a bunch of people, and I know there are going to be alot of people not paying attention/other stuff going on. I want to sit on my ass, and watch every play. Well then i'm a loser with you. There's a few parties i know of, but i just don't want a part of them. What i hate about the super bowl is that it's more of an event than it is a game, if you get what i mean. Can't stand that s***. I'm watching it in my room. The gf may or may not come over, but that's about it. It's about the game. Just like Rowand, i can't watch a game with people, especially if they aren't hardcore/knowledgeable/focused on the game. -
So tonight I'm the Chicago Hounds mascot, Hat Trick.
