Andy Katz top 50 teams in college basketball.
IlliniKrush replied to qwerty's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Illinois has somewhat begun to sell itself as well. But Self is one of the best recruiters i've ever seen. That being said, without bias i can say that i think Weber is a better game coach than Self. But Self can recruit with anyone. -

He also established himself at Illinois. Weber didn't exactly establish himself at SIU in the same manner Self did at Illinois. That's what i'm getting at. -

Maybe if Self stopped his negative recruiting ways we would have landed Wright. Weber has to establish himself at Illinois. He's been here a year. Self didn't recruit for s*** here right away either. Hardly any coaches of this nature do, anywhere. The program will sell itself if we can make a run to the elite eight, final four, etc.lk In the meantime, keep choking over in Lawrence. PS Wright is going to the NBA anyway. -

Only 42 points? I put my life savings on purdue -20.5...jk. But i will be truly shocked if they don't cover that easily. Orton for Heisman talk will be everywhere after this week. Our defense is just terrible. -
This is such sweet justice

Miami has to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. Wow. That game was just ridiculously brutal.

Ugly game, but WMU still lost. Bye

I'm not the one that roots for a powerhouse team here. Note that if you consider Illinois a powerhouse and a fairweather pick, than i'm guilty of being a Spiff. Reading is a skill Spiff

Just more worthless crap shown on espn. Gee, i can't wait for "I'd do anything" as well... -
Problem is he's more of a scrambler than a passer. He didn't go through his progressions very well last week and looked to run instead of resorting to running...if that makes sense. Hopefully his progressions get better and he can scramble only when he needs to.

Really don't see how you can. Stay strong powerhouse boy

I've had mine on since like late June, before it became real trendy.

Alford's too busy worrying about the Orange Krush and the other Big Ten fans to do anything with his program. -
Obstacle you've just been just ridiculously obsessed with the orange uniforms and using that for a basis to rip on Illinois. It's just stupid. If you want to talk football, fine...but ripping on jerseys for post after post after post? Come on already.
-
If you are a fair weather fan of a powerhouse team, then yes When i'm a fan of Illinois, no What a dumb post there Spiff, go root for your powerhouses and stay out of this thread.

First off, the orange jerseys aren't for money. It's because one of our slogans is "think orange, wear orange". It's a very distinguishable color and the main color of the school. Ever since bball it's been a real big thing. Your bias on that one is unbelievable. Second off, if Beutjer plays we'll win pretty easy, if he's out and we have to go with Bower it could be a closer game. I don't see us losing this game. Keep talking obstacle. You're incoherent jersey rants are quite entertaining. Also, your constant bashing of Illinois football is comical too, because your program (nor your whole athletic program) is not nearly as good as ours, and hasn't been. Forgive him he's just ignorant.

Last good game for the foreseeable future tonight. I was thinking the league would start in late decemember, but that article says otherwise. -
Highlights coming up on BBTN, fight between Rangers bullpen and Oakland fans...at one point a chair was thrown into the crowd.

True, but after watching Michigan dominate Miami, and ND looking like crap against BYU and losing, i don't think they could have set the spread much lower. If many people bet ND the spread would have dropped a ton. It didn't Hindsight is 20/20 -

No, see, going to school gives me a perfectly justifiable reason to like a team. Liking random teams all over the country...i don't know. Yeah, spiff, look at my teams and tell me i haven't put up with a bunch of crap since i've been a fan. I put up with the same crap you do, i realize you support your teams. My only qualm was people who rip on s***tier teams because they decided to like a powerhouse. Never said you HAVE to like every team from your area. It gives you that option. If i'm somehow an OU fan tomorrow morning, i would hope people would wonder where the hell that came from.
