  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 08:45 AM) I have grown to like Garcon over Bowe, but who the hell knows. After week 1 I'm re-calibrating. It's a close call for sure, I like both guys. I hear you on recalibrating - trying not to play a panic card after one week with guys, but also a good time to look to buy low when applicable. I think Bowe will still get a ton of targets in an Andy Reid offense and will be good in PPR.
  2. PPR league where I have Graham and Witten (Flex), picked up Julius Thomas off waivers hoping to flip him. Didn't take long, traded Thomas and Garcon for Roddy White. Have Fitzgerald and Bowe at WR, so figure I essentially upgraded Garcon for White with a TE I'd likely never use. Wait a few weeks for his ankle to recover, and I'll have Fitzgerald and a seemingly healthy White instead of Fitzgerald and Bowe/Garcon. Though, I still like Bowe as possible WR2/Flex option and glad I moved Garcon instead of Bowe.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 06:40 AM) Damage Control: traded Mathews and Bowe (save it, Krush) and got back David (please don't fumble Sunday) Wilson and Gronkowski. Love that trade on a few levels given I had Sudfeld. Also dropped some scrubs and added Marlon Brown, Winslow, and Pryor. I'm good with that trade from your end.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) I've got to fill 3 spots from 4 potential options: 1 RB spot, 1 WR spot, and 1 flex spot...the options are David Wilson, DeAngelo Williams, Julian Edelman and Mike Wallace. I am thinking I will give Wilson another chance here, and so then the options become Williams, Wallace and Edelman for the remaining 2 spots. With Amendola potentially out, I am guessing I will play Edelman for sure, so then that leaves me with Williams or Wallace in the flex spot? You say this as if you're Coughlin, LOL. If you could hand him the ball and give him another chance, yeah, I'd play him. As of now, we have no idea if he'll play at all or how much. I'd hope for some clarity before Sunday, and wouldn't be making this decision until Sunday morning (obviously Edelman plays regardless). At the moment, I couldn't imagine starting him on any team.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 09:13 AM) So banner-raising night is in 3 weeks. I'm not gonna lie, I don't know if I'm ready for hockey yet. Baseball season just that compelling.
  6. Meanwhile the chargers just blew a 21 point lead in about 10 minutes
  7. Vereen out a few weeks with a broken bone in his wrist. Ridley should be back to being the feature back.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) If it's attention-seeking barking, ignoring them may be the best way to go. Even negative attention gets some dogs what they want. That only works for so long, though. We've tried that, and she'll just stand there and continue to bark and bark and bark every few seconds until something happens. It will work when we're eating and she wants food, but with a guest here, it usually doesn't stop.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) Next step: Cliff Alexander Snider hasn't committed, not sure why we're on to the next step already.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 11:02 AM) I'm assuming the kind that squirts and not shocks? Either way, he started using a water bottle. When he barked, we'd say NO that spritz in the face. Now if we calmly say No when he barks, he stops. Or we just show the bottle. I'd look into whatever would work, squirt or shock. The big issue is she'll bark when someone else is holding the baby, either out of jealousy or protection. I'm 95% it's jealousy and she wants attention. She also has this weird thing where she now barks when my wife is talking on the phone. Never used to do that before. I guess I can try the spray method, worth a shot. One spray to the face after a bark?
  11. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 10:46 AM) Just by reading his dads comments, I don't think he will stray to far from home. UCLA is a heck of a long ways away. Certainly could be a huge factor.
  12. Anyone use a bark collar? Good? Bad? Thoughts? Any recs on a particular kind?
  13. If I had to bet, I still think he picks UCLA. Have you seen something else somewhere? You can either play for Groce, or you can play for a complete scumbag. Up to you, son.
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) I know what his line is. What I'm saying is that Bill Bel has a quick trigger when it comes to benching his RBs. Vereen could go ahead and have a fumble or dropped pass next week early in the game, then all of a sudden Ridley is back on the charts. In the end, there's no way to predict what Belicheck will do game to game. That's my point. You don't target players who play under those systems. Hmm, except for last year when Ridley was like a top 10 back? Sure worked under that system. Also, where most people drafted Vereen, he was a great value pick, not a ton of risk involved. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 09:57 PM) Boldin's going to be a top 3 WR this year when it's all said and done. He has the consistency to win you a fantasy chip, and now he has a dual threat QB and no other WR options on the team. Yeah, no.
  15. Snider with an in-home visit by Groce tomorrow. Crystal ball momentum. http://247sports.com/Player/Quentin-Snider...tionPredictions
  16. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 03:21 PM) Told guys to stay away from Ridley and any NE RB as they get benched quite often and are fool's gold. No one listened. Also 2nd year QB's usually take a step back so unless you play in a 2QB league, there are better options out there. Roddy White almost didn't play today, someone should've done their homework there. Stay away from any NE RB? May want to go check Vereen's line.
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 07:24 PM) Start Vereen or Thompkins as flex? Really tough call there. I'd say Vereen is a more safe play, where as Thompkins is probably more boom/bust. Not sure what I'd do, may depend on what you think you need on Sunday. High potential/risk, or just some guaranteed points.
  18. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 05:08 PM) I'm curious what is the waiver period time for your leagues? Every league I've ever played in the waiver period starts as soon as that players game starts. I'm in a new league this year and the waiver period for all players isnt until Sunday 1pm. So some guy picked up the Denver TE during the game last night. So now I'm reading all the rules/settings in this league I'm in now. It's as soon as the player's game starts. Anything else is just stupid, because your above scenario plays out. Defeats the whole purpose of waivers.
  19. Is anyone watching Low Winter Sun? I've recorded the first 4 so I'm in a position where I don't miss the next great AMC show, but likely wouldn't watch it until BB is done and I can just cruise through the whole season. Good? Bad? Average?
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 01:20 PM) Not much of a case there. He assumed the risk of operating that thing. And he was an expert on remote controlled helicopters. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) Doesn't matter. Good chance they'll still attempt a lawsuit. We live in a lawsuit-happy, everyone else except me is always the one to blame type of country. Exactly. Regardless of whether or not it's a great case, lawsuit coming down the pipe.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 08:46 AM) His dad was there and watched it happen Some of the comments point out the wingtip speed of the blades on one of these helicopters. It's a 5' diameter blade spinning at about 2000rpm, which puts the wingtip speed at about 360mph. I'm sure a lawsuit will follow.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 08:52 AM) so why doesn't Yahoo! lock the Thursday night players into the waiver wire like they do for the Sunday games? That's not Yahoo, that's your commissioner.
