  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 9, 2013 -> 05:30 PM) We have interesting keeper rules so it made sense from his point of view. Julio will be a 2nd rounder in our keeper format next year and he's got Gio Bernard who would also be a 2nd rounder so if he wanted to keep both he'd have to make Julio or Gio a 1st rounder. Now from my point of view, I already have 2 rb's for next year(Marshawn as a 4th rounder and Le'Veon Bell as a 7th rounder) so I most likely would be taking a WR in the 2nd round anyways. If I don't make the playoffs, it's a no brainer to keep Julio as a back end 2nd round pick. If I'm in playoff contention(which I should be) towards the end of the season here, I package Julio to one of the teams out of it for something that I need. He's still an idiot, as he could have traded him. Too quick of a trigger finger there on the drop.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 9, 2013 -> 07:10 AM) Holy jumpin! I get it DP
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 9, 2013 -> 08:27 AM) Shame on you if you played in that league again this year Absolutely.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) My league is ridiculous with vetoes. There's been 3 trades completed, all vetoed. That one, Julius Thomas for Doug Martin, and 3 bench players for 3 bench players. I think the top just wants to keep the status quo. So lame. It's a 10 team league, so 4 of the rest of the 8 have to veto. That's why league votes for trade veto is completely stupid. Ruins leagues. I'll never play in a league like that. Seriously, why are you even in that league? Garbage.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) Good trade for you. I drafted Roddy White in one of my leagues that I don't care about...and it's probably one of the worst picks I've ever made, given that I took him in the 3rd round. It's only a bad pick because we didn't know he had a serious ankle injury beforehand. I think week 7 on we see the normal Roddy White. If we knew it was a high ankle sprain in preseason, he would have moved down a bit. Knowing what we knew, he was fine as a 3rd rounder. That's less on owners, more on just not having the right information because they withheld it from everyone.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 09:51 AM) Cliff: "I will be making my college decision on ESPN November, 20th tune in" "Change of date November 16th my birthday I will make my college decision"
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) Julio might be out for the year... Oh wow.
  8. Cliff: "I will be making my college decision on ESPN November, 20th tune in"
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 12:17 AM) did LA win the world series or something? That's every baseball celebration ever. It's ridiculous.
  10. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 06:39 AM) Indiana's offense is pretty dang good, once again. Sudfeld will be playing on Sundays IMO. The defense played better than I have ever seen. Hard to believe they lose I think 2 starters to graduation. Make a bowl this year, and Indiana should be a top 25 level team next year. I can't believe I just typed that. Also heard Lou Holtz say Indiana will be Ohio States toughest matchup this year. LOL hard to believe, but I guess it was one heck of a game last season. Top 25??? I can't believe you just typed that either.
  11. Lol at failing to get the bunt down twice before homering. White sox fundamentals ftw.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 10:32 PM) I lost by .3. f*** my life. Guy in my league lost by .8, he was up .2 going into the last drive, going up against Powell.
  13. For those that didn't watch the game Saturday. The f***?
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 05:52 PM) Ya I'd definitely do that if I were you, at least Brady should be playing all season. I'd also pick up Foles(something I'm going to do as well), might catch lightning in a bottle. Yeah it's either Foles, E. Manning, Roethlisberger...that's probably about it. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 05:53 PM) Need 55 points ppr from Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, and Falcons D. Stranger things have happened...wait, no, no they haven't. If it was 100% Roddy White you'd have a decent shot.
  15. I don't know if it would be accepted, but I'm considering giving up Vick for Brady. He has Pryor, started him this week over Brady. Not sure how high/low he is on Brady. I don't know how long I can ride the Vick wave of season-might-be-over-any-second.
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 05:01 PM) Nobody is trading for Brady, everybody already has quarterbacks. I should have also probably added that Jones is a potential 9th round keeper that gives him some extra value. If I do the deal, I really hurt myself for 4ish weeks with bye fillers, I lose a good potential keeper, I help a really good opponent out a lot and if Brady gets back near his usual level of play with Gronk then I'm not getting much of an upgrade at all. It's not as simple as you guys are making it out to be. I'm with you, it's not easy. I'm not convinced that Rivers is way better than Brady the rest of the year. He just got Amendola back, Gronk soon. He had a lousy game Sunday - so be it.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) They definitely gave #1 OSU a scare in '02 & '06. I was at the 2002 game and it still kills me, they were so close to winning. But for some reason they can only seal the deal at the Horseshoe. I was there in 2002 and 2006 as well. We lost in 2002 because instant replay didn't exist yet. The end. Same as Michigan in 2000.
  18. Grew up an ND football fan because of my Dad and Grandpa. Didn't have any ties to any other team. Similar to dasox, by sophomore year in college I was all Illini. Each year, my care for ND has dwindled more and more. Illini are my team because I went there. ND isn't really mine. When you combine this with the absolutely ridiculous fan base (as evidenced here, for starters), Declan Harris and that nonsense, Lizzy Seeberg and that cover up/lack of investigation/whatever you want to call it, Kelly and Swarbrick and the way in which they dealt with those things compared to the Te'O stuff...I just don't care anymore.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 12:54 PM) I'm 0-5. This roster is 0-5. I keep playing teams that put up 120+ points. QB Matt Stafford WR Brandon Marshall WR Reggie Wayne WR Pierre Garcon RB LeSean McCoy RB Maurice Jones-Drew (f*** him) TE Owen Daniels W/R/T Marques Colston DEF who cares Still waiting for Gronk to come back. I'd hoped to be .500 when he returned. Instead, those losers (had to play Michael Floyd instead of Pierre Garcon given the BYE week) put up 80.28 points. Also had Justin Blackmon on my bench. Yeah that shouldn't be an 0-5 team. What would your composite record be (playing every team every week)? I always seem to come out on the short end of that. Like, I'd be 6-3 or 7-2 on the week, and lose. I have MJD too, ugh. Do you have anyone else to use there (Mathews)? Luckily I got Moreno before the year started, just in case, and it's paid off a bit.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) Reality check for Illinois. I'm not a Tim Banks fan but there is absolutely no talent on this defense and Scheelhaase is who we thought he is. Bad arm, not accurate and can't deal with pressure. I can't wait for Lunt next year. We all knew this game was coming, it really wasn't surprising to me. Defense is so damn young and inexperienced right now, not a ton we can do. We made no adjustments to the pressure, everything was Scheelhaase backpedal and toss it short. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Yeah I think Beckman needs to fire him now to save his own job. Barring an epic collapse of not winning another game and looking terrible doing so, Beckman has already got himself another year.
  21. If you really want to know rules, grab a fed rule book and case book. Do a little bit at a time. I don't know of any books but I'm sure they have to be out there. Most of my knowledge on cut offs, base assignments etc came from my travel and hs coaches, and the thousands of games I have umpired. My outside the box idea would be to try to connect with your local hs or college coach. Observe an early practice, or classroom session. Even an hour conversation with him drawing things out would get you all bunt coverages, cutoffs, etc. Then you can learn more individual skill stuff.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 08:32 PM) Bad call I thought so live too, replays showed it was one hell of a great call. f***in nailed it.
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 05:03 PM) I don't think anyone cared about NU until the Chicago's Big Ten team campaign Well, that and starting to win games/recruits.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) Forget that, Go Cats. I've come to realize that I am in the minority amongst Illini fans in that I like Northwestern. F that noise. It's Northwestern. I don't think their fans are pulling for Illinois. Plus, OSU being good doesn't have the affect on Illinois that NW being good does. NW and Illinois are competing for the same things, Illinois and OSU aren't. You can't exactly root for both and have it be logical. You're in the minority on everything, rooting NW, wanting to pay players, run a dirty program...
