QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 03:48 PM) Victorious Secret would be 77-33 if they played every team every week So you should be 7-3, screwed by 2 games. I have the same thing in one of my leagues, 6-4 and I should be 8-2 based on %. -

Points for certainly helps, but it's really the consistency that matters. A better measure of a team, rather than simply using points scored, is the composite record for the year. If you click on "recap" for your latest matchup (at least in Yahoo), it'll say what your record would be if you played every team every week. Take that winning percentage and compare it to your actual winning percentage, and you'll know how much you're getting screwed. You can also then go through and find the teams that have the wins you should have. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 10:31 AM) over DePaul, but not over Kansas. For winning, sure. For being "the guy" and playing time, I wouldn't put Kansas ahead of Illinois. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) Hard to say but Illinois will be very deep and talented next year. They will have 3 transfers who have all proven to be at least good college players coming eligible, 5 freshmen at least 3 of whom will see substantial time this year making the freshmen to sophomore leap and Snider and Black are both potential impact freshmen (my guess is Snider more likely then Black). The only players they lose are Bertrand and Ekey. I would be surprised if they aren't at least a Final 4 contender (Top 10-15 type team) next year if they land Cliff. And senior leadership in Abrams and Egwu. With Cliff, on paper that's for sure a top 10-15 team and in today's college basketball landscape, it easily has final four potential. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) Steven Stamkos just crashed into the net and appeared to seriously hurt his leg. Sucks to see a top player get injured like that. The .gif of the injury is at this link, careful if injuries can make you a bit queasy, it wasn't pretty. http://twitpic.com/dkwvmt They should cement the goal posts down.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 11, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) I will be in attendance in my DePaul sweatshirt...either crying tears of joy or absolute misery LOL, it's not misery to miss out on a top recruit given the condition of the program. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 11, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) The new DePaul arena in the south Loop, if it is built, is an Archer bus ride from Curie. I grew up by Curie high school, odd part of Chicago, BTW. Don't kid yourself if DePaul uses that location correctly it could get them better players especially from the south and west side. It hasn't worked for UIC but I do not think they really want it to work there. I am not really sure that is the best thing for those kids either. Is the arena going to be ready for the 2015 season? I didn't think it was, if that's the case it would make it irrelevant. Cliff's not playing more than a year in college. The arena can't hurt in trying to get recruits down the road, but it's not going to be a dramatic game-changer. 4 and 5 stars are still going elsewhere. -

"Big Cliff's HS coach saying it's 50-50 Illinois and DePaul with a school likely being cut tomorrow? Kansas or Memphis cut tomrorrow?" I have this bad, bad feeling he's going to pick DePaul. And I'm going to f***ing lose my s***. THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 10, 2013 -> 06:53 PM) Jaylon Tate looks so good out there. His court vision is on another planet. I wonder if we'd be better with him at PG and Abrams off the ball. 8 assists tonight, people. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 10, 2013 -> 07:10 PM) Illinois looked pretty good tonight. Bertrand and Tate with great games. If I had to guess the rotation going forward PG- Abrams/Tate W- Rice W- Bertrand PF- Ekey/Hill C- Egwu/Colbert Eight deep. Hill will be first off the bench and can play on the wing or at PF. Tate will be next off and can also provide Rice and Bertrand with rest since Abrams can slide over. Groce has been doing that a bit so far. Colbert will be used whenever we need a fourth big to get minutes. LaTulip will be next in line when we need some shooting. Don't see much hope for Nunn or Morgan right now. Might be right as of this second. Nunn will get mixed in when he learns how to play defense. Until he gets that, he won't see anything. Right now it's not good. LaTulip = when we need some threes/guards in foul trouble/breather/at end of game he should be getting the ball to make free throws. Lastly, I pray Egwu has learned how to not foul this year, because we are thin as hell up front. -
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) There have been some drops, but he also doesnt seem to be able to put any zip on the ball. The pass to Jeffrey last third down was a perfect example. And that under thrown 44 yarder to Marshall, should have been an easy TD

It clearly merits discussion, I don't know how that's even a question. To just say "it's fabric" is silly. I'm not really for or against it overall, but it clearly looks like blood, and I'm far from the only one to see that. -

It's all about expectations with Tate. I expect him to be a decent backup PG, do some of those little things well, never be a starting PG. I think from what I've seen so far, he can handle those duties. He'll have to this year, don't have any other options. Next year's playing time will be hard to come by, lot of guards. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 09:14 PM) The uni's look so badass, it sucks that people are offended by them. I don't know if it sucks that people are offended by him, I think it sucks that they made a uniform that offends some people. I'm glad they are raising money, but when someone in that position writes something like that, I listen. And the blood smattering thing is weird. Everyone sees that, it was just poorly done. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 7, 2013 -> 11:15 PM) Thought the broadcast of that game was pretty rotten. They kept acting as though the Stanford defense was dominating the game and kept circling the time of possession, etc. Oregon turned the ball over on fumbles that are entirely random football plays, and their defense refused to sell out against the run until the 4th quarter. I get that Stanford manhandled Oregon in the running game, but Oregon had enough success on offense to win this game, they just kept turning the ball over. Oregon punted what, 3 times? Only when Oregon put the outcome in doubt briefly did these idiots begin backpeddaling. And this nonsense Jessie Palmer is using trying to discount Stanford's loss to Utah by claiming they didn't "play Stanford football." Then the comments about DeAnthony Thomas are pretty rough as well. They only had 2 turnovers, right? Yes, but Stanford punted only once. 14/21 on 3rd downs is insane. Stanford outplayed them, this just wasn't the impressive Oregon offense that many thought they'd see. Stanford had the Oregon offense completely out of sorts. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 7, 2013 -> 09:48 PM) Good point. Sometimes you have to play for points or field position, don't always be so aggressive but it's not in their gameplan. From what I remember Bell was always a running QB, never much of a passer. Wasn't he their goalline QB last season? Ya, the Belldozer. Not to be confused with the Bailer. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 7, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) To me, locking down Chicago means that the vast majority of players in Chicago will have Illinois near the top of their list and they will regularly get them...the best of them. The null hypothesis will be that a top recruit in Chicago will "probably" go to Illinois I can't see us getting to this point, but who knows. If you are always in the running/considered for the top 5-10 guys in Chicago, and landing a few on a regular basis, that's about as good as you can hope for, and that's about as good as you'll need if you can get other guys from the state (Peoria) or surrounding states like Groce is looking to do. You just don't want to be complete afterthought, like we had been. We're clearly past that point now. -

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 7, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) Solid article and synopsis by the guy. One thing about "locking down Chicago"... I'd say that's not happening. If it did, Illinois would surely be on probation within a few years of it. Just too many people with their hands out in that area. Pretty clear that's the dirtiest area for recruiting in the states, along with NYC. Yeah, he put that in quotes as it's not what he actually says/believes, it's what people throw around. I read all of his stuff, he never says anything regarding actually locking down Chicago, we know that's impossible. What we need to do is hit on some high recruits here or there in Chicago, not lose out on seemingly every single one of them. That's good enough in the relationship. And yeah, this Simeon train is a good one to be on. -
