QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 11:37 AM) Nobody got my Charlie Murphy/Rick James reference Nobody got my "Airplane!" reference, either!

Good luck, Nuke. I am grateful that you're serving our country.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) No. It was a Laura Ingrim producer during the republican convention. Here is the website I took the pic from. http://wizbangblog.com/2004/08/31/rnc-gossip-edition.php Well, he sure does look angry there....

I think the episode was a good one, but it definitely made me feel a little uncomfortable because of the political discussion. I think they handled it as well as they could have. However, it may have been a better idea to simply leave it alone.

We're looking forward to this book quite a lot.

God, I can't wait! Standing for the players' intro, watching the montage on the scoreboard (even if I have to turn around to see it), Thunderstruck, fireworks, holding my wife's hand in the stands, wearing my awkward-looking sun hat because I'm the palest mofo around....

Where's the party on Sunday?

Da wife and I are watching at home. I'll be making a pizza from scratch, and there will be enough Leinie's for me. I don't have to share the Leinie's, since da wife is pregnant. This is a good deal! -
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) He also attacked a Fox news producer, not from O'rielly, during the convention. He had to be restrained by security. I seem to recall reading something about that in Franken's book. (Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them) Was that the incident that was completely made up by Matt Drudge?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) Some of the stuff between Al and Fox News or Al and O'Reilly has frankly been over the top. I believe that a few years ago there was either a report or video or something of Franken verbally berating some of the Fox people at a dinner (just doing this from memory, don't recall all the details). And I'm sure that Franken and O'Reilly had a major sparring match on CSpan at one point. Well that's understandable. O'Reilly makes me very angry, too! Even so, I don't think that means Franken has anger management problems.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) I currently have a Macbook intel with a a core duo proc, I run XP under a parallels virtual machine session that has my office apps, and some of my windows based apps on it on my 22 inch wide display, and my mac apps under the laptop display. With the virtualization extensions under the newer processors I get pentium 4 performance in my virtual xp session which works great. If you didnt know it you would think its running under its own machine. Now that being said, I wouldnt run a major math program like some advanced analyitics tools or CAD under a virtual machine. But for office apps and some proc intensive tools, they work fine under my virtual machine. Now the next version of parallels which is in beta has support for coherence, which will allow you to not have a virtual session up, but just have shortcuts natively on your mac to run microsoft apps under the veil of Apple. http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/coherence/ http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/beta_testing/ Well, that's good news. I think. Right? In other words, for my purposes, which is word processing, spreadsheets, and the like, current Macs can run Windows software (Word, Excel, etc.) without anything being "lost in translation?"

In college, I was an avid Mac user. When I started working in the legal profession, however, everyone was using PCs. I converted to the Dark Side. Every now and then, I go to the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue, I look around, and all the Apple machines look great. But the OS has changed since I was a Mac user; it looks so unfamiliar to me. I'd definitely consider going back to a Mac when I get a new computer. But I'd have to be absolutely sure that I could work with Windows files (mostly Word and Excel) seamlessly.

Yesterday, I went to the dentist for the first time in about 10 years, and (much to my surprise) I didn't have any cavities! I have to have an old, broken filling redone. But that's it!

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 01:46 AM) I hope we are not talking Miller Lite and good beer in the same context here. I don't know how anyone could....

I'm pretty sure it was in 1980 or 81 at the old park. I was only about 5 or 6, so I don't recall all of the specifics. I seem to remember sitting in the upper deck and watching the Blue Jays beat the Sox.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) Al has anger issues. It will be fun to watch, though. Anger issues? Maybe I just haven't seen it, but the only Al Franken I've seen in the public eye has been rather measured and even-keeled. Witty and sarcastic, sure, but not pathologically angry by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't see McCain as the Republican front-runner, not by a long shot. He has climbed far too deeply up George W. Bush's arse to be taken seriously. You think Clinton dragged Al Gore down in 2000, you just wait and see the Dubya Albatross hanging on McCain's neck in 2008.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) Actually everybody the Man Law commericals for Miller Lite are done. They've been discountinued. While they were popular and tested well, Lite's sales didn't move. That was the last of them. Source: AdAge Hallelujah!

Birthday: "Best of My Love" - The Eagles 18th Birthday: "I Will Always Love You" - Whitney Houston Wedding Day: "Check on it" - Beyonce featuring Slim Thug I sense a theme here. These are all songs that suck.

When do Full and Split ST holders get to buy single-game tickets again? I emailed my rep, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I think Giuliani is the most electable Republican candidate, although the more I see from Mike Huckabee, the more I think he'll emerge as a strong candidate. He is an evangelical Christian and can appeal to that portion of the Republican base, yet he seems to be politically more centered than you'd think.

QUOTE(shoota @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) man law isn't funny. The "Man Law" campaign has never even approached being funny.
