  1. What'd he do? What'd he do? (Oh, and welcome back to White Sox baseball!)
  2. Two-point-five games out Detroit Tigers are in front This division sucks.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Um, nevermind. I never type "LOL," but I laughed out loud at that.
  4. I'm not going to say that the season is over; surely anything can happen. If the Sox decide to become sellers by tomorrow evening, I won't fault the decision. The one thing that would be the wrong move, in my opinion, would be to trade away our future core in the hopes of adding a short-term impact player for this season. I don't want the Sox to pay what it would take to get a Halladay, for example. I think the most likely scenario (and the best choice) is to stick with what we have now and let the chips fall where they may. If the Sox can win this weak division, great. But let's not give up the opportunity to control this division (and, hopefully, make deep playoff runs) for the next several years.
  5. Good luck, BA. I hope things go better for you in Boston (although not against the White Sox). Always liked BA.
  6. Well, the hissy fit is a certainty. I honestly think they should stand pat right now. Ultimately, the Sox need to get younger, and I'm comfortable with this team as it is. I don't want to sacrifice the team's future for this year, given what they'd likely be able to pick up.
  7. This has absolutely made my day! I wish I could have seen it; I'm at work. I'm proud MB is on our team.
  8. As soon as there's a public video available somewhere (for those of us at work), can someone post a link?
  9. And I was at work! Crap! Congratulations to Mark Buehrle!
  10. The weather sure doesn't look like it's going to cooperate tonight.
  11. Anyone watching on Comcast today? I'm not getting my CSN, ESPN, or a lot of other channels I should be getting. Anyone else having problems? I'm having to listen to the game on the radio....
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 06:45 AM) If someone gave me Z's contract but said I had to be a Cubs, Packers, and Pistons fan, I'd go out and buy season tickets for all 3 that same day. I'd do that. Hell, I'd get tattoos of their logos.
  13. So, here's a slight change of subject. I've recently picked up a copy of The Show '09, and, well, I'm really bad at it. I've set the game to "Rookie" difficulty, and I still can't hit my way out of a paper bag. The game manual tells you what the controls are, but it doesn't really tell me how to bat. For example, is there a "batting cursor" that I just can't see? Am I supposed to do anything other than time my swing right? It's kind of frustrating. Defense is easier and more intuitive, at least. I guess at first, I'll just try to put as many features of the game on automatic (baserunning, etc.) and then try to figure it out. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a video game champion; I just like to play when I can. Anyone else have similar problems/difficulties?
  14. Just joined Facebook, and just joined the group!
  15. Overall, I'm pleased with the season. The Sox definitely exceeded my expectations for this year, and they've raised my expectations for next year. I'm excited about watching Danks, Alexi, Carlos, and Floyd. I'm hopeful that the offense can get a little less slow (I'm sure Kenny will have a good plan for that). A good season, if a little frustrating at times. But the frustration came more from seeing how good these guys can be, but sometimes falling short of that.
  16. C'mon Sox! Let's make this exciting! Can Paulie just bat three more times this inning?
  17. I'm back. And unfortunately, the game didn't get any better, did it?
  18. Unbelievable. Javy doesn't jave any testicular fortitude. I'm going to have to duck out for a while. Work to do. I'll pop back in later.
  19. Aaaaaaand just like that, on the sac fly, game is tied.
  20. Jeez, between the game, this thread, and Brian's avatar, I'm not going to get any work done this afternoon!
  21. Upon further review, I'm probably not going to stick with the "TBS Hot Corner" on MLB.com. While it does give you live video, you don't get the camera angles you need. (You get the pitcher side view, the batter side view, the dugout view, and a slightly delayed pitcher's view with the "pitch trax".) You have a hard time telling what happens if a ball is put into play. So, back to GameDay.
  22. I'm looking at MLB.com, and they have the "TBS Hot Corner." It shows 4 different feeds that appear to be live from the game. No announcers, only the raw audio from the stadium. I'm going to go with that and see how it works.
