Singleton Out, Stone In
This is great news. I'm a big Stoney fan, and I'm happy he'll be a part of the radio broadcasts. I really enjoyed it last season when the TV booth was Hawk and Stoney. I'd love to see that again in the near future....

Breaking in a new baseball cap
Yesterday was my birthday, and one of the gifts I received was a new Sox cap. This is actually the first time I've had a fitted cap as opposed to an adjustable cap. It needs to be broken in. This got me thinking. How do you go about breaking in your baseball caps? What better place to talk about it than here?

Car Suggestions
Honda Civic Mazda 3 Nissan Maxima or Altima Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix (these are hatchbacks, but they're 4-doors and quite versatile)

Game Thread 2/27/2008
I just ducked in..... I'm so glad baseball games are starting! It gives me hope that this crappy cold weather will be ending soon!

Cell Phone PDAs
Does an iPhone count? 'Cause I'd really like one of those.... I know, I know, it's not a "serious business" tool. But still.

Lindsay Lohan Pictures
I don't know, I have a hard time believing that anyone here would turn Ms. Lohan down if she were offering. (Leaving out, of course, the married/taken factor of the recipient. And even then, there'd be some thinking.....)

GOT MY SOX TIX... what'd you get?
I picked up tickets for the Fathers' Day game against the Rockies. It's my annual tradition to take my dad to a game for Fathers' Day. Of course, this year is the first year I'll be a dad on Fathers' Day, too, so that's going to be fun.

Hawk signs extension
I really like Hawk. For me, watching a game he's calling is like watching a game with my grandfather (which I never got to do, incidentally). So, congratulations, Hawkeroo! You can put it on the board.

MacWorld '08 Thread
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) If you have any questions, drop me a note. I'd be glad to help. Thanks! Once I get some more time to even figure out what questions to ask, I'll send you a PM.

MacWorld '08 Thread
After being a Mac user all through college and then switching to PCs for about 10 years, I bought a new iMac 2 weeks ago. I really do like it. It's funny how much the MacOS has changed over that time. I need to sit down with the new machine for a couple hours and figure out all the tricks I can make it do. I'm glad to be back with a Mac!

ozzie looking at colon
God, I'm such a fifth-grader..... Did anyone else chuckle at the headline, "ozzie looking at colon" and have the mental picture of Ozzie bending over in an uncomfortable manner?

Stone to Call 670 broadcasts
Glad to hear Stone will be calling some games on the South Side. I really hope this is the first step to a larger broadcast role with the Sox. I have no problems with Hawk or DJ, by the way. Farmio and Singleton, on the other hand, have room to improve.

Joe Nathan on the way out the door...
I don't think it'll matter. Whoever the Twins get in return will instantly be a stud who kills the Sox.

The Official [SCRUBS] Thread

The Battle For Last Place in the AL Central
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) ... IMO having greater flexibility in the selection of talent is an outstanding card to hold. Being handcuffed is not fun. Only if you do it wrong.....

OK so answer this please about winning this time of year
Draft picks are uncertain. Losing certainly feels lousy. Ergo, I'd rather see the Sox win on any given night. Draft picks seem like small consolation.

SOX FIRESALE BY JUNE
I was wondering if and when we'd ever see this thread again.

Oz blows his cork...
An outburst like this was long overdue. This strikes me as too little, too late.

Is this the worst year in your Soxfandom?
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) Did you really? Did your thoughts change once spring training started? I really did, even in spite of ST. I don't put a lot of stock in the preseason in pretty much any sport. And this year, alas, the team's ST performance was a true harbinger of things to come....

Is this the worst year in your Soxfandom?
I think the reason this season really hurts me, as a fan, is the huge gap between how high the expectations were for this team and how grandly the team has failed to live up to them. This is not the worst White Sox team ever, not by a long shot. But I went into this season expecting another year of playoff contention. To be this far under .500 really stings.

Why can't it be both ways?
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 27, 2007 -> 01:14 AM) I couldn't believe my eyes with that Hinske shift or the Cuban Death March v. Boston. I have been very disappointed with Ozzie this year, but he is the least of them all. I will say this, though: if it ever becomes clear that Ozzie has been tuned out, he should be fired immediately, or the players should be (and you know what I mean: meaning: not literally). Some of me thinks that Ozzie simply needs a better team and he isn't trying so hard either. Some of me believes that this team has tuned him out, though a few sources say nonono! to that. Most of me believes that the problems are 95% roster construction, poor scouting and awful coaching. Assuming this team is upgraded next year, we'll see if that's true or not. Quoted for Troof.
