  1. Looks good! I can't wait to get back in there and watch some games!
  2. Bush's offer of testimony without a transcript, not under oath, is a complete farcical joke. It is yet another in a long series of evasions of accountability. The offer will be, correctly, rejected and subpoenas for Karl Rove and Harriet Meiers should issue immediately.
  3. My bracket was the victim of too much chalk. Not enough upsets in the early rounds.
  4. Is there a website anywhere that can show me how Gaelic words are pronounced?
  5. I went to a Brewers game in 2005. It was a beautiful late-summer evening game. The roof was open. I really had a great time. The stadium is extremely clean; the employees were helpful and friendly, and the food and beer were both cheap and good. I think I'll unofficially adopt the Brew Crew as my pet National League team.
  6. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) Oh I dont have the Big East beating any good teams. I just feel A&M and the Big 12 are vastly over rated. For Ville to get to the Elite 8m, they would only have to beat A&M and Memphis who might be the most over rated 2 and 3 seeds. Additionally, Louisville has a virtual home game for the first two rounds. They play in Lexington, a little over an hour from home.
  7. Maybe this is just because it's a summer weekend game. But I agree, not much reason to call it a "prime" matchup.
  8. This was nice to read in today's Tribune online.... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines (all the way at the end of the article) Kudos to Jenks, Sisco, and Tracey for doing something positive for kids who need some help!
  9. I got mine Friday. It was one of the few good moments in an otherwise trying week.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) I think the Scooter Libby verdict emperils the tenure of Cheney more than a DVT. In a perfect world....
  11. OK, so I'm not as colorblind as I thought. Thanks!
  12. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) Is the scoreboard blue? So, I need a little help. I have a touch of color-blindness, so I probably see things a little differently than others might. But isn't the scoreboard blue in real life? And the outfield wall, isn't that green? That's how it looks to me, anyway. And yet, I still manage to dress myself without any egregious errors....
  13. This is a lousy deal indeed. As Gregg Easterbrook has pointed out about the NFL's Sunday Ticket package, both football and baseball teams get the benefits of taxpayer-financed stadiums, and then turn around and deny a great deal of those very taxpayers the right to pay for and watch games on TV.
  14. I have a hard time finding any sympathy for someone who's going to make $7 mil next year and cry poor.
  15. I guess I'll let 'em have their clip show. But I'm not pleased with it.
  16. With one game to go, against Iowa on the road, are the Illini in the tournament? Are they out if they lose? Are they in if they win? Discuss.
  17. Thanks! If only I had the day off....
  18. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) I have to dissagree. Yankee Stadium is the Mecca of baseball parks. Never been to Fenway, But The Stadium is waaaay better than Wrigley. I went to Yankee Stadium for the first time last summer. And while it's rich with history, it's dingy, cramped, and expensive. I would much rather watch a game at Wrigley than at Yankee Stadium.
  19. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 07:25 AM) Why is that in green? According to Hillary Clinton's own words, it is. As opposed to the Republican mantra as it originally was spoken in Mel Brooks' History of the World Part I: "f*** the poor!"
  20. QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) You know that's not what I'm saying, Tex. Many POWs from Vietnam said the vast coverage of discontent here only emboldened the enemy. That's the road we're heading down again. I don't know the answer. I just think cuttin and running at this time is not ideal. That's just absurd. Absolutely absurd. How, exactly, did that go, now? Did these POWs have conversations with the average NVA or Viet Cong soldier and ask that soldier how media coverage in the US made them feel? And then you go to the standard Republican stock phrase, "cut and run," which bears absolutely no relation to the facts. The use of that phrase implies that any withdrawal from Iraq, no matter how planned or phased, is called a retreat in defeat. It creates a false choice. It shows a complete lack of the ability to think critically. And it's about time that proponents of the war start using some logic instead of White House talking points. As I asked before, what is the "job" we're there to do? What is the standard by which you will be satisfied that we've gotten the "job" done? Or is the plan to simply stay in Iraq indefinitely, wasting thousands of lives and billions of dollars as a crutch for the Bush administration?
  21. QUOTE(Chet Lemon @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 12:28 PM) Stay until the job is done. Define "the job."
  22. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) yeah there actually is lots of free parking. The walk not to bad as long as its nice out. Just dont park on my street please. Don't worry, I don't. The spot I like is not on a residential street.
  23. QUOTE(joeynach @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 08:52 AM) If you only knew where the free street parking is... Exactly. You just have to be willing to walk a little bit.
