Thanks to this thread I have gotten into Breaking Bad and Homeland over the past few weeks. Both are really good.

The Lions really are a classless team and it all starts with Schwartz. The guy cant control his players and these cheap shots are hurting them in games finally. Even with the terrible officiating they still managed to shoot themselves in the foot with the lack of control. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) It's not because of Tebow himself but the fellation he receives from some of the media; "he changes your life" or articles about how he's the first nice guy to play football ever and signs autographs for middle-aged fans! (who will sell them on eBay) and how he's just so amazing! It makes me want to throw up. Kurt Warner is super-religious but people didn't hate him for it because the media didn't portray him as a saint because of it. This 1000x this. The fact there is outrage that someone Tebowed Tebow is hilarious. -

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) I mean I guess there is a chance but I have no idea if he can catch the ball or block anyone. Exactly. There is definitely the off chance he can play tight end, but he has done nothing to make us think its plausible. I think people discredit all the tools it takes to be a tight end in the NFL, its one of the most dynamic positions there is. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) I don't know about that. I hate Tebowmania as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't call him an awful pro athlete. He may be an awful QB, but he can be a valuable player for a pro football team if used right. He has the size & athleticism to make plays. He plays quarterback though. Just because people suspect he might be better used differently doesnt change the fact that he is a starting qb in the NFL, which he is awful at. -

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) Tebow is not an NFL QB. This is very obvious. He is for comedy purposes. Quite simply one of the most awful professional athletes and the hype he gets never ceases to amaze me. -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) The offense does need to do more but the defense is not doing much either. They may easily give up over 550 yards Oh Mike Martz that tricky bites you in the ass again The defense has scored a touch down and blocked a field goal. The special teams has gotten good field position and scored a td. The Bears offense hasnt done anything since the first quarter. Sure its not the best performance the d has had but a defensive td and blocked field goal in a close game isnt a bad effort. -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) at what point is the Bears defense taken to task as not being as effective as the bears would like everyone to think This is a pretty good offense theyre facing right now. They also have a defensive TD and blocked a field goal. Considering that and that we had a punt return td and a kickoff return past the 50 Id say you need more from your offense. -

IF the Sox come back and finish only 1 or 2 games out,
DrunkBomber replied to balfanman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Its always easy to second guess your favorite teams management but sometimes there are situations where something that seems so obvious to even the fans that it truly is amazing that people who are paid professionals seemingly miss the boat. Im not going to argue that the majority of the fan base had been clamoring for De Aza or Flowers. There may have been some people who wanted to see those guys called up but it certainly wasnt a situation like replacing Dunn with Viciedo at some point earlier in the season. Despite what he is being paid Dunn has been destroying our offense all season. Who knows how many games could have been won with another competent bat in the line up instead of someone batting around .160 who strikes out nearly half of his at bats. We had a promising hitter in the minors all season and continued to use Dunn in or around the middle of our lineup everyday. This isnt some advanced baseball knowledge that only extreme students of the game can figure out, this is common sense that any reasonable person could come up with. Its comparable to how the Bears needed to improve their offensive line after last season. Some situations in sports should be painfully obvious to everyone, whether it be casual fan or management of a professional team. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) I haven't watched that in years either. Don't take it so personally. I didnt take it personally considering I wasnt even in the conversation when the comments were made. I just got a chuckle out of the hypocrisy of your statement. Dont take that personally.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 05:31 PM) Same here. I suppose its not as complex as something like "pro" wrestling but whatever floats your boat I guess.

The only person on Jersey Shore Id say is genuinely a bad person is Snitchuation, and by the looks of next weeks episode its gonna catch up with him. If you watch any reality show and look down at people for watching another one then thats pretty laughable.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) What posts of mine are you reading? I haven't commented on her appearance since my second post. If you want to discuss this you should PM me so people don't have to read this s***. I am a good, law abiding citizen, husband, dad, volunteer and former athlete and not some neighborhood creep, thank you. huh? I wasnt trying to attack you personally. I was just pointing out that I dont think your posts are coming across as you are intending.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) If they are borderline creepy then I'm not expressing myself correctly. I have a wife and kids thank you and am not trying to hit on Mrs. Teahen. I guess people aren't used to somebody trying to be nice on the Internet. Continuing to comment on her looks and telling us we should be honored to have her post on our forum doesnt come across as trying to just be nice. As people have stated, her looks are irrelevant in this circumstance. I dont think she posted here for reassurance from a bunch of strangers about her appearance.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 01:48 AM) Exactly. And I love the one guy criticizing Mrs. Teahen for posting. He should be honored she'd post here and try to clear up a misconception. People are so weird sometimes. It's a compliment to this site she came on here giving her take and that one guy rips her for it. Be honored? Really? Your posts are becoming borderline creepy in this thread

QUOTE (heirdog @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:06 AM) I will invoke Occam's razor: mark teahen was referring to Oney Guillen perception is reality and if the slightest chance he wasn't (and talking about some random person he knows) then why put it out there for thousands of people to see on twitter and not just a group email to his friends and close circle? Mark took shots at Oney that included name calling and Oney responded. I am not in the least bit a fan of Oney or his malicious attacks and while I don't condone his style, Oney retaliated and went below the belt...as he always does. Lauren, you are by no means unattractive and man-like and while your response here was heartfelt and genuine, your real response should be to your husband to have a filter and not start some public mudslinging with an immature kid that does not know any better and refuses to acknowledge his own warts. Good luck to you and your family. This is exactly how I feel about this. In no way do I condone what Oney said or think any of its true but this doesnt happen if Mark doesnt open this can of worms. The only victim in this situation is Mrs T. but she isnt just a victim of an immature brat in Oney Guillen, she is also a victim of her husbands childish actions that brought this negative attention to their family. I have no problem piling on Oney for being a jackass in this situation or any other but I feel coming on here and saying Marks comments werent directed at him (Oney) insults our intelligence. At the end of the day the cause and effect of this whole situation appears to be very obvious, so if you want to avoid stuff like this maybe stay off twitter. Id compare it to the fan who threw the cup at Ron Artest that sparked the Malice at the Palace. Is Artest a nut job and did he go way too far? Sure. But that doesnt happen if you dont throw a cup at him. Basically I guess my point is, dont feed the animals.
