  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) I think its worth noting, for future years, how much better Hanie looked than Collins. Collins gets the benefit of real reps with the first team on a regular basis, and he looked completely lost out there, and honestly looked like he was in some sort of a haze. Collins played well his last year in Washington but his time with the Bears has been so bad its laughable. Its almost like he has zero interest in being a football player and just wants his check. He simply isnt a football player anymore.
  2. Hopefully we get the degree of the sprain at some point.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:20 PM) It's so hard to deal with lovie. On one hand, some CRAZY stupid things done yesterday. on the other...he took a team with so many holes almost to the superbowl. And we held the most potent offense in the playoffs to 14 pts. How do you manage the two? He's both a really good coach and a bonehead. Exactly.
  4. Is anyone else listening to Lovies press conference on the score? Is he saying its an MCL sprain?
  5. Isnt a torn MCL not really serious. If Im thinking of the right injury, it was what my roommate/friend had in high school football and played on and it doesnt require any kind of surgery and would only limit deep bending and is treated with a brace. Even if the MCL is completely torn I dont think thats supposed to be that bad. Granted this is just a rumor of what it may be.
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) Almost every Bears fan I know has said, "We get no respect, no one is picking else, blah blah blah". You have evidence of two guys prominent in Sports Media and you complain they're not good enough or it doesn't matter that they came from them, it has to come from someone Bears fans respect. C'mon now. I guess I didnt look at it from your unbiased perspective. I didnt realize you had every Bears fan you know saying "We get no respect, no one is picking us* blah blah blah." Couple that with TWO prominent sports media types (Skip Bayless and Ted Bruschi) picking the Bears and I can totally see where youre coming from. EVERY teams fanbase tries to play the underdog card at one time or another. The Bears are underdogs at home against a team theyve beaten this year at Soldier Field and are pretty universally expected to lose. If the team or the fans want take it as disrespectful or have a chip on their shoulder then get over it. I dont think a lot of us are THAT surprised by the love the Packers are getting, their playoff wins have been very impressive, but at the end of the day people like cheering for the underdog. Also, the only reason Skip Bayless is picking the Bears is because he went to Vanderbilt.
  7. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) Too high scoring. BTW, Ted Bruschi also picked the Bears. So this whole, "Us against the world" schtick needs to stop. It's ridiculously dumb. Us against the world schtick? Care to elaborate? Also I didnt realize Ted Bruschi was the authority on who is the favorite to win a game...
  8. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) Well in the first game you had 35 penalties and the second game you had two touchdowns dropped by Packer WRs. I know right! Were so lucky!
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) If this week taught anybody anything it's that you should just throw the regular season games out the window, they mean nothing at this point. I agree, just thought it was a little stretch to say the Jets dont really have a chance against the Steelers.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 06:58 PM) The Steelers can maul the Jets. Sanchez can't step in and succeed versus their defense. At least Roethlisberger can throw the deep ball. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010121911/2...alyze/box-score
  11. Theyve been talking about the Bears game all morning on ESPN. I guess you need to play an east coast team to get that kind of coverage. I was at the game yesterday and a few things that caught my attention were, the Jets pass rush or lack thereof. I was shocked to see how much time Jay was getting to throw behind our line. The Jets secondary is brutal. Revis had Bennett covered pretty well but Knox and company torched the rest of the secondary, especially Cromartie. Its also amazing to see what Cutler can do when he has time to throw. When he steps into his throws theyre basically always right on target. He also did a good job moving around and giving his receivers time to get open. Despite the big day from our passing game we still have issues at WR. Lots of dropped passes and giving up on routes. Julius Peppers is big.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 08:58 PM) If he throws just one TD, gets 130yds passing and runs for 50 yards with a TD, he'd get twice the points of an average flex player. lot of ifs
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) What was the best part of this game? Blowing out the Vikings again, clinching the division and playoffs, Hester breaking the record, or getting rid of Favre once and for all? Wow, thats a tough question
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) I wonder if they'll rest Cutler next week. Why would they, theyre fighting for the 2 spot and a first round bye.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Favre clearly fumbled that ball and they blew the play dead... I dont blame them for calling it dead, it was fine to finish the sack, which he did. But I think the fumble was caused by the ground anyway.
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) There's been no less than 5 "shut the f*** up already!" Favre comments in the first quarter. Including calling him a "warrior" before the first snap of the game. The announcers telling us that Toby has been a cold weather running back since his days at Stanford was kind of funny too.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) I just learned that the Chief Operating Officer in charge of the Denver Broncos football operations is the cousin of one "George W. Bush". I think that explains a lot. Nice, back to back political statements in the NFL thread
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Well now we know all of the doubters who felt the Bears weren't a top team were right all along. There may be some truth to this but Im not gonna take too much from this game. The Patriots are the best team in the NFL and have been beating top teams all year. The Bears definitely dont appear to be a championship contender, but the job theyve done this year with what they have has been more than most Bears fans could have imagined. Grinding out 9 wins so far with this offensive line is nothing to overlook. It also appears the the NFC is more winnable then the AFC so if they get in who knows what could happen.
  19. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) At least the Packers lost for all you Bears fans. Came to post. This sucks though. At least its to the best team in the NFL if thats any consolation. Hopefully it keeps them hungry the next few weeks.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) The best game of the year is NHL 11. I don't understand how they continue to make it better, but it is unbelievable. Yup. The physics engine is great for hitting. The EASHL is still the best game mode in any video game period. Playing team sports online is a lot of fun.
  21. As I stated in the thread about the cruise ship catching fire and being stranded I just got back from a cruise on Sunday. I have an iphone and for turned it on airplane mode when we were on the ship. We had 3 stops in Mexico and I turned the signal back on a few times when I was at locations with free wifi. I did also use the 3g network for about 5 minutes while in Mexico to set my fantasy lineup however. Fast forward to a few days ago, we arrive in California and I go to turn my cell phone on and I get a text saying my data had been disabled due to high international usage. When I finally arrived back in Illinois I called ATT and asked what was needed to be done to turn back on my data plan. They informed me I had somehow used 500 megabytes and without a plan it would cost me roughly $11,000. However being the swell people they are they offered to sell me an international data plan retroactively. They said the highest plan they have is 500 megabytes for $499 and that I went over 500 megabytes and would have to pay $5 for every megabyte over 500 which came out to another $300 dollars. So here I am with the choice to buy this plan or have an 11k bill hanging over my head so I said Id think about it. Has anyone else ever been in a situation like this? Im sure there have to be other ways around this Im just not sure what yet. Any help would be appreciated.
  22. I actually got off this ship the day before this happened. My cruise docked on Sunday morning on the Splendor and then this happened the next night. Kind of crazy I guess.
