Congratulations to Paul Konerko on acheiving the 2,000 hit hallmark

Like hell someone is gonna tell me this doesn't deserve its own thread. Congrats, Paulie. You've come a long way and will leave quite a legacy behind here one day when you are no longer a member of this team.

Congrats to one of the greatest hitters the Sox have ever had!

Nice job Paulie :headbang

Congrats to Paulie. A real shame his great season is going to be wasted. Hopefully he can go on a little run here and get to 400 before the season ends as well

PAULIE! PAULIE! PAULIE!

Paulie-what an example of a warrior. One of the greatest White Sox for all time. I salute your guts, perseverance, and will to get better.

It's really remarkable how this player has transformed himself from an above-average major league player to "borderline-borderline" hall-of-famer.

I don't think he's even close yet, but he just keeps getting better and better, against all odds. I can't think of a another player who has made himself so much better at 35 than he ever was at 25 (if it weren't for roids I'd say Bonds).

If he stays healthy and plays at a statistical clip that's slightly below-average (for him) over the next four seasons, he'll truly be in that discussion. What an amazing career.

So, so proud to root for this player.

Congrats Paulie! Always classy, always working hard.

Congratulations PK! You will go down as one of the greatest White Sox players in team history! I think that's safe to say. A class act, through and through. You deserve this, Paulie!

Now, let's get 1000 more!!!

Aging like a fine wine. The guy rocks.

I'm thinking the WS Grand Slam, at the point of contact, should be the concourse statue.

That or the fist pump.

If Paulie gets to 2500 hits and 500 HR, he has to get in because how many clean 500 HR guys haven't got in?

That would take what, 3+ more years of this level of performance?

If he's producing like that in his late 30's, that's the kind of push that can get a person in.

Except they'll screw that up and make him look like he just fouled a ball off like the Thomas statue.

Best idea, IMO.

I think the fist raised in the air one it went out and he started rounding

Yeah, I like the fist pump ideas better than mine - more unique. I think we can agree that the GS is the signature moment of his career, to this point. Disappointed that the Thomas statue wasn't completely satisfying.

The single greatest moment of my sports watching life.

You're not going with AJ reaching 1B with the ball in the dirt?

Crede's homer against Riske?

Iguchi's off Wells?

Joking....have to agree with the Konero GS, off Qualls...I think it was.

The Pods and Blum ones weren't so shabby, either.

I know nobody likes to hear this argument, but if Konerko didn't play for the 2nd team in the 2nd city the guy is HoF. And he took a hometown discount to stay here.

Him and Buehrle are the White Sox to me, why people even consider trading those guys is beyond me.

That was the moment where 05 became real and stopped being a dream.

You and me both.

Trade him while his value is highest!

For me, PK,d Mark, and possibly AJ define this era.
