The Boston Globe's Gordon Edes says the Red Sox will not part with either Manny Delcarmen or Justin Masterson along with Wily Mo Pena for Jermaine Dye.
Then they're probably not going to get a deal done. Edes says the Red Sox won't give up the young pitcher for a rent-a-player, but it's not just Dye -- it's also the draft picks he'd bring. Masterson was a second-round pick in 2006. The Red Sox would get at least one pick better than that next year if they brought in Dye now and then let him go as a free agent.

Why is Lidge's price still so high? His #'s are good this season but that's only after being removed from the closer's role, again.
Yet he is currently the closer and has all 5 of his saves this season since coming off the DL recently,

wow id do anyone of those deals in a heartbeat if im texas
not to mention isn't Teixeira a FA after this year?
Imagine what we could probably get for konerko or thome....its too bad thome cant play 1b cuz id heavily consider that deal from atlanta for thome
I think Tex is a free agent after next year.
Thome and Konerko aren't getting traded. Thome has a no trade clause and Konerko is the heart and soul of this team.
According to Peter Gammons on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. The Braves made a trade offer of Édgar Rentería for Jon Garland. The White Sox rejected the trade according to Gammons because the White Sox have no interest in trading Garland. What do you guys make of this deal? Would Urbie be offered in the deal in return?

The White Sox likely will place Jermaine Dye on the DL and recall Ryan Sweeney prior to Sunday's game.
Dye aggravated his strained quad Friday and wasn't even available as a pinch-hitter today, so it looks like he's going to need a couple of weeks off. Sweeney will likely play fairly regularly in his place. He could also see time in center when the White Sox use Rob Mackowiak in right field.
