QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 10:27 AM) cause the WBC doesnt matter, and its more important for the pitchers to get work to get ready for the season, the manager Davey Johnson admitted it "Yeah, we had a lot of one-inning pitchers out there. Just basically let him get a little more work. Unfortunately, it wasn't really great work, but he still needed the work. Like I said, it's double elimination. It wasn't a thing where it was ... hook him in the second inning. Just let him get his work in." That's a bunch or crock, players like Jeter, Rollins and Peven Peavy had said they wanted to make a statement this time around. They were simply beat by a better bunch of ball players. What is Johnson suppose to say, it was his call. h would of been better staying at the wedding.

QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 08:59 AM) I was impressed he hit that GS off the righty yesterday...His defense is enough to let him have the CF job if he can pull .230 at the plate Why settle for a .230 hitter I just do not get it. Enough of the excuses for BA that he wasn't given a chance. There is a reason they either stopped playing him or are trying to let someone else play CF, He simply is not a Major League Center fielder. If he does win the CF job this year I truly hope he proves me wrong.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) There already has been an update, go into Sports Connect and download the online roster. Contreras is in AAA and Broadway, Russell and Wassermann are in the MLB bullpen which makes the major league team much worse. Move Contreras, Carrasco and MacDougal to the big league roster and the Sox go from 21st to 16th. Which seems fair. Thanks did the update, but If I change the roster can I still use it on SC play?

Game is pretty awesome, but have to say the Sox are not that good again in this game. Fields sucks ass on defense and after Floyd and Danks the pitching blows. Dye and Quentin are about it on offense, they screwed Ramirez once again. Looking forward to the 1st roster update.

QUOTE (Cowch @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) Dayan is SUUUUCH a beast!! We seem to have something nice with this kid. What good opposite field power this kid shows, I truly hopes he wins the 3rd baseman job. -
QUOTE (YASNY @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) I've believed, and have said so, that Ozzie made BA pay his dues last year. Brian needed to grow up and Ozzie made that happen. I don't think Ozzie has anything against BA. You hit it right on, BA needed to grow up. Hopefully he puts baseball before partying this time around.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) If BA is never given a long period of time to start, we never will know if he can be competent with the bat. He has a very long swing which will always prevent him for hitting for a good average, but if given enough time to find some type of rhythm at the plate, he may be able to hit .240 over the course of a full season, and with the defense he plays and the power he can produce, that would make him a very valuable player as a #9 hitter. I honestly would not be surprised to see Anderson put up something along the lines of .240/.310/.440/.750, and with gold glove defense in CF, he's probably a top 10-15 CF in the game. I truly believe that BA can be better than a .240 hitter, the problem I have seen with him is that he likes to party to much and basically is a "Horn Dog". I have been at many bars, casinos and clubs at the same time with him. 1 instance I recall on a Friday night after a game versus the Cubs we partied till 1am and then took it to a friends (Girl) house in the Wrigley area and he stayed after we left at 4 am. Next day we lose the game because he couldn't get a F'n bunt down with man on 2nd and no outs and I run into him again at high tops VIP party on the 2nd floor. His night life and a Rep as a so called ladies man is more important than being a solid major leaguer.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) Except one of them is 4 years younger, still has potential and can play elite defense at 3 positions. I'm not about ready to give up on Brian after only 2 major league seasons, 1 as a platoon player and the other as a sporadic bench player. Of course I don't expect everyone to feel the same way. Its a pipe dream.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 06:50 AM) Did Joe Crede steal your GF or something? I notice that anytime anybody attempts to give him even a shred of credit you come swooping in with all this Bills James, Sabermetrics, Bible awards, zone rating, ect in an all out attempt to dismiss him as some bottom-tier third baseman who did nothing for the franchise save October, 2005. You're asking for proof of Crede's clutchness? Are you serious? A Sox fan? Who gives a s*** if Crede doesn't make some Bill James list. Do you want a list of games from 2004, '05 and '06 in which Crede saved our asses? I expect somebody from the east coast to have no clue about anything not Yankees/Redsox, but c'mon now. Am I glad Crede is gone? Yes. He's too much of an injury risk and is no longer a fit with this franchise. That's fine. But don't try and discredit all the good that he did here when healthy with this endless barrage of new-aged statistical formulas (i.e. he's not good if Bill James doesn't say so) that are flawed to begin with. Ain't nothin' like actually watching the games. Bill James be damned. Good point dude, those are actual facts you speak about. Some guys just try to damn hard to look smart. Thank you Joe for all your Clutch hitting.. GL

Enjoy it, I just got back from Detroit with 60 other Sox fans on the Grinders Road trip. We had a blast, stayed at the MGM Detroit . I encourage more of us fans look into going next season, was well worth it.

How much should we worry about Joe Crede?
Soxpranos replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Crede is the least of our concerns, he is batting 8th. Not to many 8th place hitters have 16 hrs and 58 rbi. The one that should be traded and us concerned about is Konerko. Sometimes I think some of us just post anything without really thinking about what that player does for the team. As of right now , our team with Konerko took a step back (Swisher is better than him on defense and is better than him offensively, thats not saying much), if the Sox trade Crede and Konerko is still on the team, the Sox take another 1-2 steps backwards. Remember folks, Konerko WAS our clean up hitter. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) One run in the 2nd inning isn't going to make a difference in this game. I'd rather not take the 10 pct chance of scoring. So it goes from no one to 10 % now? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) Hamilton has a gun, and was playing very shallow. He can over throw the ball, who says he is gonna make a good throw. The way the offense is going, you need to take the chance and force the issue. -
