  1. I'm starting to get worried here
  2. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) So glad people know how to spell Buehrle around here.. atleast I was consistent
  3. on espn they had some AL scouts analysis on buerlhe, garcia and vazques's problems for buerhle he said he just isn't locating, and he needs to throw more changeups to righties for garcia he noted the velocity is down, and he also said his breaking pitch breaks too soon so its not as effective anymore for vazquez he said that he just can't handle the depth of an AL lineup I think they were right on for buerhle and garcia, but they are way off on vazquez, since its more of a mental block for him still pretty decent for espn coverage
  4. similar article in the tribune today
  5. the most annoying fan I encountered was a whitesox fan who sat a row behind me for a couple innings. she didn't have a clue about the game, referred to AJ as the "official team captain", was contemplating running on the field to take better pictures and was obnoxiously loud for a continuous amount of time
  6. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) I was gonna start a new thread on this then resisted my giddy tendency. That was one heck of a ballgame. f*** the standings for a night and how bad we've been playing, etc., what a great great game. And a great call on the winning hit by Hawk. And great call on Paulie's homer. Man for Paulie to go with the pitch and deposit it in the rc seats ... awesome hit. Not a bad gutting it out performance by Freddie either. On a given night we play some mean baseball. Wish I was there; jealous of you who were! GO SOX. does anyone know where I can find hawks call for those two plays
  7. just got back from the game easily the best game I've attended since game two of the alcs. close to playoff atmosphere in the park, good clutch hitting, garcia was above average and it was incredible when konerko came through I was ready to blame a loss on mackowiak though, man he sucked tonight, and I've also decided it's a fact of life that neil cotts always allows an inherited runner to score
  8. I'm going tonight, so I really hope Freddy doesn't suck
  9. if you ask me, sox fans are spoiled from last year. most teams would kill to be in an exciting playoff race like we are, instead we are pissed that we aren't better its a shame
  10. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) I honestly couldn't care less about this one. They're both deserving, but I'm not all-nighting this for 2 months or even 5 seconds. Sorry Jim and Frank. I care more about how the teams doing than personal awards right now anyways
  11. if theres anyone interested in walkup the best I could pull up on ticketmaster were: 4 tickets in sec 507 2 tickets in sec 507 1 ticket in sec 526
  12. I'd appreciate Joe more if hawk would stop saying suckemup joe the best time was when he said it, then he made an error love the clutchness though
  13. lets just say hoping for the best, but just expecting a close race all the way for a playoff spot
  14. if the sox have any inkling of hope for the division this week they need to beat anaheim, take 2/3 from the yanks then sweep the tigers. no exceptions, otherwise I bet were going to be looking at the wildcard
  15. what the gosh darn tigers, we go 6-3 on our roadtrip yet lose ground on first place
  16. way to go macdougal QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:15 PM) We dominated the first 3 innings, Jose pulled a Javy, Ozzie pulled an Ozzie, going back on his previous statements about getting the win for the team, and now we face a 2 run deficit, and the Jays have a good closer. Oh, and our 6-7-8 hitters have pretty much sucked. thanks
  17. I just woke up can I have a summary of what went on please?
  18. the only celebrating that really pisses me off is when they directly stare at the opponents bench or player examples: carlos zambrano after barry bonds lines out to him zumaya after holding the sox scoreless the craig monroe/pudge celebrations piss me off because it seems that they are unnecessarily emotional after beating the Indians, but they seemed more aimed towards the joy of the homerun, and not at the Indians/contenders
  19. QUOTE(ViperPilot @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) Tigers fans keep doing this because we find it funny how last your season was magical. Your season was special. Your season was dominating. Your pitching was out of the world. But OUR season is an anomoly. Sorry, can't have it both way.....I know sarcasm. This was whining. well if you think about the Tigers season, they have had plenty of magic that the whitesox didn't need/have 1. the outstanding success of their rookies. It's unheard of for them to be so good for so long (although we did have Jenks last year) 2. the consistency. they have cruised to their 74-36 record or whatever it is now, and it is dumb to to believe that the tigers will keep that up through october if you think about it, even though the whitesox pitching never showed tons of success until last season atleast they all had plenty of experience at the big league level (unlike verlander, minor, zumaya), and most of our starting rotation was full of players who have had plenty of years in the big leagues unlike the tigers (bonderman, rogers and robertson the exceptions)
  20. after yesterday and tonight I am convinced of two things 1. the indians just aren't trying anymore 2. the tigers will never lose again
  21. I bet the hawkaroo would say the same thing
  22. I don't have a good feeling about this series, but it would be great if we could win 2/3
