  1. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 06:03 PM) Too bad that's the lineup... Should have put people out there who actually would want to play: Owens LF Sweeney RF Dye DH Fields 3B Gload 1B Stewart C Cintron 2B Anderson CF Ozuna SS Why the hell not? Nothing else to play for. I bet we'd win with that lineup
  2. if this was last year I'm sure we run the table and shove it in their faces I'd put money on rolling over and getting swept by the Twins this year though unless some small miracle occurs
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) No thanks, I think one long colective boo from 38,000 Sox fans from the 1st innning through the 9th on Sunday would get the point across. This team got a big enough head after winning the World Series, acting like they could just show up and the damn thing would just be handed to them. They had the whole offseason to celebrate their championship but sadly they decided to take an extra 6 months off for celebratory reasons. ^^^^ I think its partly the marketing department's fault too because they tried to milk out the championship for all it was worth, but the players did absolutely nothing to deserve an ovation on sunday (barring some miracle surge to contention) QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) you're insane. this team deserve a standing ovation even if they fell short. most of them were key members of the 2005 season, and if you can forget that, then what are you doing here? 2005 was great, 2006 is a new year we won't forget 2005, but its no excuse for underachieving
  4. if we win this game I'd put money on the playoffs
  5. questionable call on uribe but the way this season has gone thats what happens
  6. if this run scores I'm turning off the game
  7. ill take that, crede wouldn't be able to hit the ball off a tee right now so I'll take a baserunner
  8. this game is going to be over real quick at this rate
  9. I'm glad hawk recognizes it, but if the players don't then its pointless
  10. I'd done my best to stay optimistic about this team its all gone now
  11. we pretty much have to run the table to get anywhere now seasons just about over, unless either the twins or tigers have a monumental collapse

for any north-shore-ers such as me pieros is far and away the best thing in the area (if you want something besides Lou's, which I personally think is slightly worse than pieros anyways)
  13. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) Why is it so hard to realize Ozzie does not make up the roster. He uses the guys provided to him by Kenny Williams!!! Think he wants to put in Boone Logan??? You guys sometimes act like Ozzie is the do all. He didn't make up this average roster; KW did! it's not the players that ozzie uses, its his attitude about the team
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 12:01 AM) Wow. I can't believe you are trying to defend that play. There was no excuse for him to play it the way he did. None whatsoever. He should always assume that the runner will tag up and run. That's what is taught in little league. I wasn't trying to defend the play, I was defending the fact that it wasn't his arms fault, it was his mental failure to position himself so I was more or less just saying that I still think he has a good arm, which is probably already the consensus but whatever

  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) Are you kidding me? He had time to eat a cheeseburger while he stood there waiting for the ball to lazily drop into his mitt. if he played it like he was expecting the runner to go then he would have had his momentum going forward and probably would have had a much better through instead he did sit there, and because of that he had to throw flat-footed which affected his strength if you play catch you can see that the ball goes twice as quick if you get a running start because you generate power out of your legs, instead he threw flat footed and had just his arm to get the ball to the plate, thats why the guy was safe
  17. also really happy to be able to play all those great super nintendo games again

  19. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) A lot of good that arm was last night when he decided throwing flat-footed to home was the way to go. that was a balance issue, not an arm issue
  20. Ozzie said in the interview with Fox during the game that with his pitching he "Likes his chances" maybe in July you can say that, but with 15 games and 3 games out of a playoff spot, you have to play every game like its your last, not think you can coast your way in
