The 50's and early 60's aren't gettin' much love. I didn't vote for that period but I loved that time. I really liked old doo wop and R 'n B and even rockabilly (Gene Vincent, Elvis etc.).

60's and early 70's for me. I loved the British invasion stuff, american garage bands and psychedelia.

My Dad had an IQ of 180. It didn't rub off on me any. He was German translator during WW2. After the war he stayed in Germany and worked for a publisher. He authored a book about his experiences in the Fighting 69th.

I will miss Jim Thome being a member of the White Sox. Really nice first class guys like him just don't come around every day. Considering his last injury-riddled year with the Phillies he bounced back and had a pretty good tenure with the Sox. I wish him well and hope he gets a ring with the Dodgers.

Due to my moving to frickin' Utah in 2005, I only went to one game that year. Jose pitched and beat the Twins (Crazy Carl homered twice). Fond memories! Jose was a class act if ever there was one. He will be missed in that respect. Adios, mi amigo!
