  1. Good game so far. Ahhhhhhh! You can't beat fun at the ol' ballpark!!
  2. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) Same story, new verse. it doesn't matter how badly Danks pitches, Robbie and Cooper will NOT pull him until the game is out of reach. They won't pull him out of games; they won't take him out of the rotations. And it's been the same thing for years. Well, they probably figure we're gonna lose let's not waste the pen.
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) I honestly think I would rather have Johnson up here until Fulmer is ready to go I'd even rather have Scott Carroll. At least I don't hate him.
  4. Well, I guess not a thing has changed from last year where I just WON'T watch games when this f*ckhead pitches.
  5. Stating the obvious but just the same: DANKS SUCKS!!!!!!!
  6. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0406-story.html Chicago Tribune has pictures of the 3 'Chance The Rapper' limited edition hats. I don't care for the look at all, plus article indicates the hats will be "priced between $40 and $50". LOL, no thanks. . I like 'em. But at that price, I don't like 'em that much. Bet my son would like one though.
  7. It always varies for me from season to season but in spring training Jacob May kind of won me over so for now he's it.
  8. Merle Haggard, country music legend died today on his 79th birthday.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 10:15 PM) how disappointing. doubt we score with jackson and rollins batting in the 9th. Whatever.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) Hard to believe that John Astin is still alive and kicking. Is he?! I didn't even know that. Long live Gomez!
  11. Sure sucks for Davidson and C. Sanchez. Both had great springs. Just no room for them.
  12. Actress Patty Duke died. She was 69. Mom of Sean Astin.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) Maybe he just doesn't want to play anymore and doesn't have that "fire" he once had. I don't think it is anything bad That's what I guess too. Anyway, best wishes for him.
  14. George Martin, Beatles producer has died. He was 90.
  15. QUOTE (peppers312 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:29 PM) i don't really care if they win or lose these ST games, it's just nice to see some hits and runs coming from up and down the roster. When it's all and said and done of course the wins and losses don't really matter. Who but the geekiest of geeks remembers spring training records? But, winning creates a much better atmosphere in the clubhouse than does losing so I prefer they win more than they lose.
  16. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) Break out all of the cliches: "These games don't mean a thing."
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) Sac fly for Shuck. 4-0 going to the second. Who is this team?! Danks with 2 scoreless innings! Who is this guy?!
  18. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) I think he has a bounce back this year. I want you to be right about that!!
  19. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) George Kennedy dead at 91. http://variety.com/2016/film/news/george-k...uke-1201718567/ George Kennedy, who won a supporting actor Oscar for his role alongside Paul Newman in the beloved film “Cool Hand Luke,” and was also a fixture of 1970s disaster movies including the “Airport” franchise and “Earthquake,” died Sunday in Boise, Idaho. He was 91. His grandson Cory Schenkel reported the death on his Facebook page. Cool Hand Luke has always been and remains in my top 5 favorite films ever. Love that movie and he was great in it! R. I. P. Dragline.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 07:01 AM) yea, that is everywhere Certainly is and that is why when I go to games these days, I eat at home before the game and at a fast food joint on the way home after the game. Hell, food at minor league games is even way overpriced.
  21. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) https://twitter.com/hungarianjordan/status/...148616376115201 That's funny but I wish it wasn't.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 12:24 AM) Thank you Chisoxfn! To get an esteemed moderator to back what I've been saying is a true honor. This proves that not everybody disagrees with my posts. I am not always wrong, folks. Just 99% of the time.
  23. I was around when a few Chicago pro teams did in fact move. The Chicago Cardinals, I was barely even aware of and wasn't affected by their move. I was 9. A few years later though I rabidly followed the Chicago Packers/Zephyrs of the NBA. I was really sad when they moved to Baltimore and became the Bullets. But, left without an NBA team until the Bulls formed, I was a fan of the Bullets. With the White Sox I remember in the late 60's when they played some of their home games in Milwaukee and I worried about them moving. Then, of course in the 80's that worry was renewed. I know I would have remained a Sox fan and now that I don't live in the Chicago area that would be even easier. There is no way in hell I could ever switch allegiance to the Cubs. How could anyone go to being a fan of a team that they absolutely hated?
  24. It's just as if we're watching the same game over and over.
  25. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 11:30 PM) what an ugly finish You're not kidding. I thought they were going to find a way to blow it and they nearly did. All's well that ends (sorta) well. Good to win without Jimmy!
