  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 01:30 PM) Though I selfishly want to see the poll results. *Like*
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) So do I because I truly think Greg has a 'silent majority' of people who like my posts. In fact if we ever did a poll of like or dislike Greg or permanently ban/keep Greg I think in both polls it'd be about 60/40 in favor of me. Sorry to derail the thread BTW. I'll get back on topic pronto. BigEd likes Greg though I certainly don't always agree with what Greg posts. Some Greg posts , other Greg posts , still others , every now and then but in general
  3. Lot of fun but can the Sox just shut down Petricka please and then release him?
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) John Danks, baby!!! Who'd have thought he'd be this good so soon after major surgery? My favorite Sox by far. Nice job, Tyler Flowers. I notice Tyler was choking up on the bat on his long home run. Not a bad idea, Tyler and other big leaguers. Still can hit it out if you choke up. It's not manly or cool to choke up, though, so most don't. Good job, Eaton as well. Well, he's salvaging a nice season. Eaton next year just has to get off to a better start. He's put together a nice season and deserves credit but he has to do better next April/May. Great win. Today's win was Sox first in Kauffman all year. Lot of frustration pent up. Would be nice to spoil one weekend of the asshole KC fans who are used to kicking our ass. Danks still isn't very good. He's to KC what Bruce Chen was to the White Sox, that's all.
  5. This is terrible to hear about. I would have been homeless several years ago if it were not for the mercy of my ex-wife who took me in and let me live in a small cottage behind her home.....rent free. I was lucky, I guess you could say. I wish I had some answers for you. It pains me that I don't. I hope all works out for you. Don't be embarrassed, we're all friends.
  6. QUOTE (lord chas @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) Oh well looks like the chances of a top ten pick are rising While I have wavered back and forth on firing Ventura, I'm so wanting it right now. Not that I think these last few dreadful seasons are solely his fault but I'm sick to death of this lethargic team. Changes usually start at the top when things have been bad for awhile. Just fire him and let's start over. I also hope they keep losing and better their pick situation but I'm real, real tired of that every season now. I'm pissed. Someone in the Sox front office needs to be as pissed.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 03:57 AM) i wouldn't be surprise to see him up. just to see if he can handle big league pitching. then again, he is suppose to get his swing redone. so maybe not. For two years he hasn't handled AAA pitching very well. I don't think we need to see if he can handle mlb pitching. I would be very surprised to see him called up and very disappointed as there are players who actually deserve a call up.
  8. I really don't know. I just like to see predictions of those who know the minor league system better than I do.
  9. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) 19th time this year the Sox allowed three runs or less in a game...and lost. 9th time team has been shutout. Have played 127 games, have scored three runs or less in 66 of them. 52% overall. Mark BAD, very bad. Thanks for posting though.
  10. Do the Sox lead mlb in most time shutout this year? Sure seems like it.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) Danks playing with fire Good old Gas Can Danks.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) One thing worth saying is that LaRoche is actually 7 for his last 22 with 2 HR, 3 2b, and 5 RBI in that stretch of 5 starts, and since we're going to be honest here that there is 0% chance the White Sox are going to eat the $13 million on his contract if we can nurse him back to having a decent September and rebuild his confidence in himself that could give him a shot at contributing more next year. Ahhhhh, the voice of reason.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 09:56 PM) I see the good Sox showed up again today. Rodon has shown enough this season. He's a future star. So I'd agree to shut him down all of September. Let EJ replace Rodon. You might consider shutting down Sale and Robertson too. Let somebody else close and maybe add another starter from the minors to give Q and Danks a couple extra days rest the rest of the season. Eaton is hot and getting his numbers up to respectability. Sure hope he does better the first 2 months next year than he did this year. He's our catalyst and can't suck for the first 7 weeks. GO SOX. Trayce should play every single day; ditto Micah. Don't let any guys like Beckham even have one at bat. Go with all the future stars, not the dead weight guys. Any minor league catcher down there who needs some seasoning as well? I usually don't buy into that shutting 'em down philosophy. Limiting their innings, ok but not shutting down.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) Darryl Dawkins dead at 58. Chocolate Thunder, and gigantic human being. Wow. Another ex-basketball player dying pretty young, jeez.
  15. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 08:26 PM) f*** I hate saying this....f*** it keep losing. Love my sox but I hate Ventura as manager. While I don't hate Ventura as the manager I think it's time for a change/a new direction. His biggest problem has been the worthlessness of about 1/3 of his team.
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 06:04 AM) Will Ohman is another guy who was a considerable jackass. I've heard from a good source of mine he was a terrible teammate. Ohman definitely deserves a nod. I hated Santo but really liked Kessinger. I thought I'd chime in on the hating guys for their performance issue. If you think about it in all your years of White Sox fandom there's always guys and always will be who cause you to groan when they come to bat or are brought in to pitch. Worse yet, when they predictably fail. But that's an entirely different kind of hate than the hate for a guy who's a horse's ass, despicable person, bad clubhouse guy/teammate, rude to fans, etc. It's two very different kinds of hate.

    2015 TV Thread

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) I'd give it a B-. Kept me engaged, but i'm not sure any of the characters really wow me enough for me to stick with it. Pretty much the way I felt. I disliked that family.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) Eaton 8, Saladino 5, Abreu DH, Cabrera 7, Garcia 9, LaRoche 3, Ramirez 6, Soto 2, Sanchez 4. On my way to the game. Dang it! LaRoche!
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 09:45 PM) -Jennings with a nice inning -Jones great again -Robertson with a clean save -LaRoche with a clutch AB -Great offense in the 9th and 10th -3rd straight win, 4.5 GB WC Right on! Right on! I'm going to the game tomorrow. C'mon Danks!!!
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 08:59 PM) What he do wrong? Took the job as Manager?
  21. Shaping up to be another tough loss for Rodon. This pathetic offense.
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 07:41 PM) Season is lost. Just want a look at him. True enough. A look wouldn't hurt but I don't think he's worth a look. If in two seasons at Charlotte he couldn't hit I don't see how he ever will.
  23. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 07:30 PM) I'm ready to see Davidson at third. Season is done. His defense is improving. I know he can't hit for avg. and Ks a lot. So exactly why would we want any part of that?
