  1. Nice to win a game without the long ball once in a while.
  2. The Nationals uniforms sort of do remind me of an Old Style can or the lettering of a Stroh's can.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) What about when Kerry Wood is on the DL? I assume those nights when he's not around the ballpark the people in Wrigleyville breathe a sigh of relief since he won't be able to relieve himself in their front lawn. LOL
  4. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) I never root for the Cubs. You missed the obvious irony.
  5. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) That would be horrible. I bet at Wrigley they can barf at him. My economics teacher said he's got friend who live outside Wrigley, and he's like, "Every time the Cubs have a night game, someone either barfs or takes a dump on their lawn." You would too after watching a Cubs game and pulling for that team.
  6. FYI: We are still the only team the Royals have actually beat. Had we not beat ourselves in those two games, the Royals might still be winless.
  7. I noticed that one of the Reds reserve outfielders happens to be TIMO f'n Perez. Now ask, where will they play him.
  8. Yet another reason Jose it quickly becoming one of my favs. I love the KW quote "“His comment to me was, ‘I’m a wealthy person already. You guys rescued me and saved my career. This is my family, and I don’t want to go anywhere else,” Williams said."
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) For Sweeney's sake I hope nothing like that happens, he's gotten the piss beat out of him at the plate thus far this year. He was hit on the arm in the first game against the Sox, knocked backwards wrenching his back while trying to avoid a Bobby Jenks fastball and was knocked out of a game against the Yankees after being hit by a pitch. At this rate he'll be hitting the DL sooner than his regularly scheduled mid-May trip. Don't get me wrong here. It is not so much that I want Sweeney in pain as I want the Sox to win. The two just happen to have parallels.
  10. In the first pitch he sees, can Count drill Sweeney in the ear. A headache may prevent Sweeney from getting his usual 3 hits against sox pitching.
  11. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) The Sox will be no-hit this evening. With Joe Mays pitching, they will somehow manage to have -1 hits
  12. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) I'm still hoping the Gary Southshore Railcats pick up Koch.... I am kind of hoping that Koch is picked up and left on the streets of Gary at about 1 am on a Saturday night.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) What an amazing complete game by Garcia. In all seriousness, the top of the 5th took so long, the field was probably unplayable after that inning. Being serious, does Freddy actually get credit for a complete game for his walk-a-thon performance today?
  14. QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Remind me again, How exactly did we get Cintron for the great Baj?..... KW used a Jedi mind trick on the Arizona GM
  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) Why is "The Insider" beginning on WCIU? 7:30 start
  16. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Because Cintron will hit for occassional power while Ozuna is a bit of a slap hitter who bunts well. The difference in power is minimal. They are both slap hitters by trade. The one great difference is one of them had two triples in his last game, and is slightly hotter. IMO
  17. If he is playing and Pods is on the bench, why not bat Cintron leadoff. He is the hot man right now.
  18. The Onion Spoofs the Cubs I loved the sidebar about Mark Prior's arm falling off and nearly pissed myself when it mentioned Baker running Prior out to throw bp left handed after the right arm fell off.
