  1. Javy, thank Gooch, Crede, and MMac for this one.
  2. Crede's gotta catch that.
  3. Its amazing how Aardsma is now the guy brought in for high leverage situations compared to MMac.
  4. Mark freakin Redmond beats out an infield hit. Great play Gooch. It has been all downhill since his acrobatic play last year.
  5. Wow, the new Piranhas!
  6. That was all setup by Erstad's presence. Boof was so scared of Erstad's and Ozuna's speed. YES!
  7. Paulie with a nice swing.
  8. Nice patience by Sweeney.
  9. Crede says Morneau this!
  10. Wow was that dumb. How many people knew that was coming after two horrible offspeed pitches.
  11. QUOTE(knightni @ May 8, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) I doubt that you could hit major league pitching consistant enough to have a good batting average. I kick 4ss at ESPNZone!
  12. I still think it is too early to assess the trades this offseason completely. The Danks-BMac trade looks like a great deal, especially when you consider Masset is part of the deal. I wouldn't completely discount BMac just yet, he did have a solid outing vs TOR (6IP, 2H, 1ER). The Freddy Garcia trade is still questionable. Gio makes the deal pretty good, but the jury is still out on Floyd. Freddy has a pretty solid K:BB ratio, so if he can keep that up, his other numbers should fall over time (ERA, WHIP). Now just think if we got Rowand back instead of Floyd in that deal (I know, I know).
  13. Wow, he won't be back until mid August, and who knows how effective he will be at that point. The Tigers just got done with their easiest scheduled month (also easiest in the entire MLB), and they will have to go the next 3 months without the top arm in their bullpen.
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 7, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) Not that long ago, September 29-October 1st, 2006. Unless of course you are talking about a meaningful series, in which case it was a 2 gamer, April 18-19, 2005 in Chicago. Wow, that is amazing. Gardenhire always seemed to adjust his freakin pitching rotation so Santana would face the Sox every series.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 7, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) Considering the production that has came from anyone not named Erstad, does it really matter? Swap Dye and Cintron and you really couldn't tell the difference (aside from a few ab's). It really has been that bad and I think Ozzie has just thrown up his arms and is just trying things hoping he can create some sort of spark to get these guys back on track. I do think we may see the Sox make some offensive shakeups and those type of moves would start with Crede getting moved. I also think there is a possibility that Sweeney becomes the new everyday left fielder. He is what he is...an asset as a role player. Sure I'd prefer it if he were hitting in the 7-9 spot in the lineup but thats not the case and it isn't his fault. He's actually excelled in that role since he got his feel back (after having missed pretty much all of last year, it should be expected that he would have a slow start) so I don't get this no value. The guy brings a lot of value and he knows his role and excells in it. No team can have 9 superstars in its lineup, it needs all different types of guys to be a real good consistent lineup and the Darrin Erstad type fit in and can help winning teams (especially when he's healthy) and so far this year he's helped the Sox out a lot (the production they've gotten from him has been ridiculously helpful compared to what it got from BA last year). Thank you, I agree 102%. Erstad has done everything he has been asked to do. We can go back and forth with current numbers, career numbers, etc, but all that matters is what he is doing now. Sweeney in LF, Erstad in CF, and Dye in RF would be an above average defensive OF. If Dye starts producing at the plate, those 3 could put up some decent offensive numbers as well.
  16. Widger was one of the reasons the Sox were struggling in 2006. His CERA was way over AJ's and he was an automatic out in the lineup. Granted, he would be an upgrade over Molina, but I would rather see Wiki before Widger again.
  17. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 7, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) I listened to the game on XM up to the 8th inning and was mad at the 3-0 score and had to leave. I was going to take the receiver with me and listen in the car, but didn't. I am now ticked off I missed the heroics. I did have a question on Jenks too, but all you see is the box score. A hit and a walk allowed, but three K's. If he gave up a broken bat hit then maybe in the overall scheme of things he is improving. You have to like the 3 K's. Jenks was solid even though he started with the bottom of the order. There is nothing you can do about the broken bat hit. The walk was on a 3-1 count to Napoli the catcher. Aybar went down on 3 pitches and ended with a curve. Willits went down after a 2-2 count (curve). Figgins was struck out on a high fastball and only 3 pitches.
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 7, 2007 -> 08:56 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/05/07/spiderboy.ap/index.html Where is the vomit smiley when you need it? Just disgusting. Strange though, I cant imagine what would make not one, but two spiders want to live in your ear canal. Spiders usually like to set up camp near areas with lots of bug traffic(ie. near lights, in trees, underhangs, etc.) and it isnt as if there are tons of bugs passing by in your ear. I remember seeing a story about a lady who had a huge swollen sac on her ear. She went to the doctor's and when they cut into it, about 100 baby spiders crawled out. The doctor suspected that a small spider entered her ear thru her abnormally large earring hole and had babies in the ear, then died. The sac had grown to the size of a gumball.
  19. I just hope this whole thing blows up in the Yankees and Clemens face. There is no way he will be as effective as he was in Houston.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ May 6, 2007 -> 06:12 PM) Might as well send him to Afghanistan, because Rowand could catch OBL then. Osama is in Pakistan.
  21. Nice call by AJ and pitch by Bobby!
  22. Great freaking AB Crede.
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) That's why. Sweet, your talking to yourself.
  24. What was that? It looked like he was shocked to catch it.
