  1. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) The sox sucking has me in a bad mood...but I do want to see the footage. I'm sure you do. Could you express it without being a prick, tho?
  2. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) I've been waiting years to see this guy get killed on the job. Every time I watched that show I was hoping to see the Croc rip him apart. I hope they release the footage of his final moments. Sirius stock must have taken a hit today...
  3. STINGRAY FACTS Marine fish related to the shark Wingspan in different species ranges from 10 inches to 7 feet Barb can be up to 12 inches Lie buried in sand, and normally very shy and non-aggressive Eat worms, mollusks and other invertebrates Possess flexible tails armed, in most species, with saw-edged, venomous spines Uses barb in self-defense when startled, threatened or cornered; venom causes excruciating pain, and serrated barb damages tissue when pulled out; large rays can exert enough force to drive their tail spines into a wooden boat Most stings occur in shallow, coastal waters when swimmers step on a stingray Fatal stings extremely rare, with only 17 recorded stingray deaths in Australia since 1969 If stingrays are near: Shuffle feet in sand to scare stingrays away If stung, soak affected area in extremely hot water to destroy venom Seek medical attention immediately Sources: Encyclopedia Britannica, Georgia Aquarium, infoplease.com, Surf Life Saving Queensland
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 08:42 AM) Nah that kind of stuff didn't get me suspended, luckily enough people around here say it so that I guess it won't do that. I got suspended due to the incredible amount of Ozzie defenders driving me loco, and thus me making stupid comments directly. However it's bizarre that I come back just several days later, and the majority of the people defending Ozzie now are on my side. I guess the movement of common sense really got rolling. Troublemaker..
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 08:32 AM) As for the bolded point, welcome to the club. Although I will disagree with your point that Ozzie has kept this underachieving club in contention, because the raw talent level is the actual thing that has kept us there. Ozzie Guillen is a stupid ass hypocrite. Not exactly surprising or breaking news, but nobody will ask him any tough questions since "he won us a championship" last year. After all, he was the one that made the pitching great, and he kept the clubhouse loose as we nearly blew a 15 game lead!! I'm going to guess you weren't suspended because you are ashamed of Oz's managing.. but rather for comments like above that the mods and admins have asked time and time again not be made.

    The world meets Suri.

QUOTE(mreye @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 08:27 AM) You really think so? My wife and I both thought the baby looked hideous. That picture isn't too bad, but the other ones there were showing - wow! Yea I do. I guess I expected her to have some sort of "problem" from the many reports and since she looks normal that's 100% better. Totally his eyes and mouth and holy head of hair!
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:49 AM) Pretty much any sort of physical battery on a child by an adult is felonious. As it should be. Makes me wonder what kind of dad this guy is at home..
  8. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060906/ap_on_...XAwBHNlYwM3NTU- Tuesday marked the first time in 34 years that there were seven shutouts in the major leagues on a single day.
  9. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/20060905...DlpBHNlYwMyNjgz Under new government regulations, by Dec. 31, travelers to and from the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada — plus Bermuda and Panama — will be required to have a passport to enter or re-enter the United States.
  10. Wonder if they'll do it via mass email. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060906/ap_on_...2MwBHNlYwM3Mzg-
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:12 AM) Are you guys just looking for fault? http://www.scholastic.com/familymatters/re...readingcomp.htm
  12. This kid is totally his. Very cute. http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/eo/2006090...2b9b8d9d9cc.jpg?
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Anybody: "Ozzie, what do you think of Kevin Youkilis and his .400 OBP as a leadoff man" Ozzie: "THAT BISH ISN'T FAST ENOUGH!! AND ONLY 13 HOME RUNS, HAVE MORE POWER!!" LMAO!! QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Has there ever been a more confusing, infuriating and just miserable season than this one? Seriously, there's so many god damn questions that will never be answered and just so much s*** that has cost this team games that could have been avoided. UGH! C'mon, c'mon, c'mon... we just need a 7 or 8 game winning streak and we'll be back on track... QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) I never said that he was playing good in fact he really struggled, but there is a way of handling this go to the player and tell him personally. You have to admit that Ozzie didn't need to air this out to media this could have been handled privately I'm sure someone will bring up this point at Soxfest... QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) He is the best manager in baseball bar none and the best in Chicago history. He brought us a title. Nu uh... Kenny brought us the title..
  14. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) Ive got enough stuff to deal with and worry about that being concerned with how much an underqualified person makes at their job. Especially when its only a matter of change. If you are really that concerned about donate the money you use for the internet to help them. You may want to educate yourself on how wages effect you, your family, and your daily way of life. Your comments are extremely ignorant.
  15. QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) How in the hell do you know what goes on behind closed doors? How do you know they haven't called a meeting? How do you know PK's not throwing chairs in the locker room? Because with the amount of folks here that know someone who works with/for the Sox, we would have heard about it. There aint s*** going on in that locker room right now but cards and play station contests.
  16. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Did anyone really think we had a chance tonight? A crappy lefty, who has gotten rocked by every other team he has faced, and the sox have never seen before. It was over before the game even started. Can't speak for anyone else, but I sure don't wake up every morning and say "Hey... the Sox are going to lose today, waa hooo!!!" If you do, you don't belong here.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) This team makes me want to stab myself in the eye. So if that's fun, then yes. LMAO.. I said on my way upstairs to watch TV... "well, it's better than a sharp stick in the eye..."
  18. QUOTE(irishsoxer @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) Nice one genius. Sox get 4 hits tonight - Sweeney has 2 of those hits -goes 2-3 in his first game ever and HE knows how to run the bases unlike our 2nd Basemen. Get real. This guy is for real. Welcome to the board, ignoramous.
  19. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) The poison went direct to the heart. The poison would almost certainly have killed him, if the barb didn't. All venoms fall into 2 categories - hemotoxins and neurotoxins. If this was a hemotoxin, getting all its barbs right through the heart, then all the body's ability to reduce the flow of it through the blood stream would be moot. Thats not even to mention that if its deep enough to hit the heart, then it got a LOT of surface area inside the body cavity, thus resulting in very large amounts of poison being presented. If it was a neurotoxin, it would have very quickly immobilized the twitching muscle of the heart, resulting in cardiac arrest. He was dead either way. I'm just going from what a marine biologist stated that the amount of poison is ment to kill oceanlife much smaller than a human. Maybe he might have had a small amount of time. But like I said, it's moot now.
  20. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Keep in mind that the barb from a sting ray is poisonous, so leaving it in would not have likely made any difference. However it does not kill instantly. It's moot now, but the poison likely would not have killed him if they could have gotten him medical attention in a realistic time frame.

    Premiere Time!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) I'd love to see the next season of the Sopranos, but Madison will probably be old enough to watch it by then, The Sopranos will be back in mid Feb. Nip/Tuck is high on my list so I can't wait to watch it tonight.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) If he goes 0-4 with 2 K's will the board still be issuing well wishes? I'm not a huge fan of giving a 21 year old his first start by replacing a possible MVP candidate, in Fenway Park, while in a Wild Card race...call me crazy. Correct. That should only be done at Yankee Stadium.
  23. QUOTE(MinnesotaSoxFan @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 05:25 AM) Apparently the barb went right into his heart, so you knew that he had to be dead right then. Atleast he died doing what he loved to do. He actually pulled it out before passing out and dying. I wonder if he had left it in they may have been able to save him.
  24. I don't think the Sox will be there past this spring so get out there this year if you can.
  25. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) Putting BMac in the lineup as a starter, would be the most unfair thing we could do right now. He isn't "stretched out" for the extended innnings, and the pressure would be incredible, epecially for someone who is basically a rookie. I don't think it would be enough of an upgrade at this point in the season. I could agree that the time to move him may have been a month ago. Anyone care to debate when a 4 man rotation might make sense and who should be dropped? It seems like we have two candidates. This was done to Cotts and ended working out for us last year. What have we got to loose?
