  1. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) How come I don't recall any of this extracurricular activity? Because aside from a few catty comments on the concourse, most of it took place in the seats.
  2. QUOTE(R.J. @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) You know, it's not about whether they look good or don't look good, it's about the idea that you're forcing grown men to do something petty and trivial that they may not want to do otherwise. If AJ is ready for a haircut, get him in the chair! Until the other dudes are, friggin find something else to occupy your time with. This hair garbage - it's about being comfortable. It's about style and individuality yada yada yada, but it's about being comfortable. You don't feel comfortable looking how someone else decides you should look. /freedom rant No, it's about presenting yourself in a way the boss finds acceptable. They also have a rule about wearing suits and closed toed shoes when traveling. This is not uncommon as most teams have appearance rules.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) What exactly are the charges and penalties he's facing? Among other things, racketeering with conspiracy and fraud. This link has a lot of detail since the start of the trial. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/custom/...ewsbreaking-hed
  4. QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) I'm pretty sure you can park 3 hours before the game. So tailgating would begin at that time. I may be wrong. I think Lot G opens earlier than the other lots. I think you're right. I forgot we left work early on Friday and were parked in lot B by 4:30.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) The opening series they opened a bit earlier, but Friday and Saturday is was exactly 2 hours before. Correction, Jim says it was 3 hours before.
  6. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) I plan on tailgating today, and I want to tailgate for an extensive period of time. The website says 2 hours before the game, but some of you season ticket holders must know when they really open the parking lots. P lease clue me in! The opening series they opened a bit earlier, but Friday and Saturday is was exactly 2 hours before.
  7. QUOTE(juddling @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 08:02 AM) and his mother apologized for her son's behavior. And juddling... there are many much older that have the same mentality.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) Fines for tarp sliding? Telling players to get haircuts? Whats going on?! The real world. Stopping behavior favorable to injury and dress & appearance codes are fairly common.
  9. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 08:55 AM) No...I went to St. Bede. Used to Chruch there. You know (of) Father Malcolm?
  10. http://www.wpmi.com/news/local/story.aspx?...63-56B42DB41685 Last Update: 4/14/2006 2:17:27 PM Watch this story (COFFEEVILLE, Alabama) April 13 - A Coffeeville High School teacher is arrested and charged with having sex with several students. She also allegedly tried to involve one of those students in a plot of murder. Coffeeville High School teacher 30-year-old Sharon Linton Rutherford, is arrested Tuesday by law officers in Clarke County. "There was a plan that this teacher possibly wanted to kill her husband," says Clarke County Sheriff's Detective, Ron Baggett. Investigators say two of the sexually molested victims were under the age of 16 and the investigation continues to see if any more students were involved. Chief Deputy Donnie Arnold explains the charges against Rutherford: "Solicitation of murder, first-degree rape, 2 counts of enticing a child to enter a vehicle or room, sexual abuse second degree. The matter will continue to be investigated," says Arnold. School officials say Rutherford was placed on administrative leave from her position as an English teacher until the case is complete. "She won't be back teaching our students," says Clarke County Superintendent, Gerald Stephens. Meantime, some of her students remain in disbelief. "She was a real good teacher. I was really surprised when I heard the news, but I didn't believe them," says Coffeeville High School Student, Emily Gilmore. The first accusation came against the teacher in 2004, but school officials say they had little proof to go on . Recently, one of the students came to the school principal with information, which sparked the latest investigation. For now, Rutherford remains in the Clarke County Jail with her bond set at $55,000.
  11. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) Yeah seeing a tornado is something I just wanna experience. Although I really hope nothing serious would happen to anything. I saw the movie Twister. That was good enough for me..
  12. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) It was also reported that he came to camp out of shape and doesn't put the work in to be the best player he can be. No thanks. Let him go to the Yankees, he sounds like a perfect fit for them. Cough*bobbyjenks*cough...
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) I probably hate him more than any Sox player I've seen in my life. David Wells.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Sad how people are bailing on Podsednik this quickly. It really is. Once he gets healthy or works back into playing shape, he'll be fine. Didn't ya hear...? "To the DL" is the phrase of the week..
  15. Gotta love school holidays...
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) I love hot weather and I loathe cold weather. I enjoy baking outside and if I have a bottle of water handy you can handle the heat. Our bodies were built with defenses for the heat but when it is brutally cold and you are sitting in your car shaking violenty as you wait for it to heat up...Oh do I hate that. Remote start.
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) It's a seasonal golf resort town. It's all country clubs and winter homes. Come late May, people get the hell otta there and head back east, then they flock back in October. One of our agents takes Jim to some golf outing out there every June. Every night he calls and it's the same thing over and over... "It's effing hot. Sweating all day. Have to wear pants".. bla, bla, bla... How is that fun?
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:23 AM) My wife has family in Palm Desert, Ca. I'm not sure why they didn't just build that city on the sun. We made the mistake of going there in late July early August one year. They get the meanest, most relentless, opressive sun ever. At 7:00 am it was 101 degrees and topped out at 128 one day!! See.. that just aint right. You can't even walk outside without feeling like you're melting. Can't do anything. It's miserable.
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:04 AM) It took a lot for Garland to convince me that he had the stones to pitch in the big leagues. It's going to take a lot more than two starts for me to start questioning his abilitlies again. ^^
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:03 AM) It is what you become use to. Bundled up in a parka, boots, gloves, hats, and having your cheeks frozen and finger's numb isn't my idea of fun anymore. And for the extremes, it's the same, air conditioned home to air conditioned car to air conditioned office. Same as Chicago in the winter. I also appreciate the casual dress that heat encourages. The only suit I wear anymore is a swim suit. I lived in the insane Florida heat for 9 years. I'm well aware of it, the fact that I don't like it, and what I prefer.
  21. No way do I want it that hot. It's miserable. You can't take off your skin! At least in the cold you can put more clothes on to get comfortable.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) And yet, the D.A. feels like he has enough to go to a grand jury. I don't get it either. IMO, Unless there is (a lot) more to the story, I don't see the GJ agreeing to move forward. I wonder what info hasn't been released that makes him so confident. I hope it's not about the election.
  23. We've been 3 times and love it. THEWOOD I hear ya about the tigers and the playground, but it's a hell of a lifesaver for parents with kids who need a break from sitting 9 innings. I think it's actually a nice draw for families.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) So now the report is that the accuser was actually passed-out drunk when the police found her, and supposedly there are timestamped pictures of her before the alleged rape occured already showing some of the injuries she said occured during the rape. And also, the defense expects the D.A. to ask a grand jury to file charges on Monday. Sounds like she was attacked in some way previous. Got so s***faced she doesn't remember how or where. And is blaming it on the last place she was...?
