QUOTE (Phil McKrevice @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 07:26 AM) I'd post this in the ticket forum, but it's not quite as well-traveled. Just a quick question: has anyone ever personally been to the ticket office at the Bulls-Sox academy in Lisle? I've spoken to a couple of people who claimed to have been there, but I can't find any information about it online. I'm trying to get walkup tickets without driving down to the Cell. I've been there many times and never seen a ticket office there.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) I thoroughly enjoyed Hancock. Not I. Immediately guessed her plot twist the second she bad acted when meeting him. Though I agree she was/is smoking hot in it.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:30 AM) I got the Wii Fit 2 weeks ago. I got mine for around $150 or so, off gamestop.com, it came with Wii Fit, a carrying case for the board, rechargeable batteries, and a cover for the board itself when playing so you don't slide or dirty up the board. It's pretty cool. When it comes to controllers for Wii Fit, mostly everything you do has to do with the board. There is a running exercise where you put the controller in a pocket, and if you want you can a 2 person run where you and friend run together, so for that you would need a 2nd controller. You like it Ian? Worth the $$?

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 07:16 AM) Steff, I was in Gamestop yesterday and they told me that shipments of Wii Fit are coming every other week. The Gamestop I was at (Roselle and Golf Rd, Schaumburg) had a copy there, I believe. The guy told me he was pretty sure he had it, but he didnt go get one and show it to me, so i am not 100 percent sure. Now the Wii console, not sure about that. Awesome! It's a start. Thanks!!!

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Has anyone ever been to Arlington to see a Rangers game? I've always wanted to see the Sox play there as I go to atleast 1 road series a year, sometimes 2, but they always play in July and I don't enjoy 100 degrees at all. I expected 100 every day in early August last year when I went to see us play in KC, since that was what the weather report gave, instead it was 65 the first 2 days with rain. Yes, and it's in my top 3 parks. A truly great place to see a ball game. OT, Jim and I stopped to Hooters for dinner and to watch some of the game. A guy, about 40ish, said "hey, is that Wade Boggs kid playing for the Rangers?"

QUOTE (vandy125 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 03:27 PM) This, IMO, is one of the most annoying things about Ebay. A lot of people wait around for things like the Wii to go on sale for its regular price at the store. Then, they go buy as many as they can, throw it on Ebay, and make a profit off it. So, you can never find the things for their normal sale price at the stores because of all the Ebay hawks, but there are tons of them out on Ebay if you are willing to pay extra. After researching I've decided to pass on the eBay route. Since I have a few weeks to work with I'm going to watch the papers and see if I can at least snag the game retail. Then it wont hurt as much paying $150 for the fit. I'm kicking myself in the ass over this though. Jim and I saw these damn things in the store long ago and passed on it cause the golf game sucked. Ugh.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 11:01 AM) Wait, they are asking for a Wii AND a Wii Fit? And you are considering it? Can I be a part of your family? Well, we usually buy a family gift for Christmas in addition to small gifts for my sister and brother-in-law, and tons of gifts for the kids of course. Until Bri came along they literally got whatever they wanted. This past Christmas since I had been on bed rest and had Bri it was scaled down a lot, plus they had just moved back to Florida so it wasn't the same at all. They (the kids) have been asking for the wii for a while but it had kept being put on hold. My sis and bro-in-law live tight so Jim and I like to do whatever we can to help make their lives a bit easier and of course to put smiles on the kids faces.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 02:08 PM) Well, Buehrle>Wood did give you the correct prices if you were buying them at retail price. $250 for the console, which comes with one controller and one nunchuck, plus Wii Sports. Wii Fit is $80. Each additional controller is $40, and each additional nunchuck is $20. I'm not sure how much time you have to make this purchase, but if the system is advertised in the Sunday advertisements, then it will be in the store. However, there are always a very limited amount per store. Best of luck on finding what you need, i know how tough it is. Ahhh. Well if I can find them in the store that would be great. I plan on buying it over the next few weeks so I have some time. Thanks. Steff

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 12:21 PM) Seeing how demand hasn't been met yet, there's a good chance it's even more expensive on eBay. But since you likely won't be able to find either in stores, eBay is still probably you're best bet. Also, it's 250 for the console, and 80 or 90 for Wii Fit. That should be everything you need. Not quite 500, but yeah, still a hefty price. The console prices I have seen are at least $250, fit is right around $170, and they also would need extra controllers. I did estimate a bit high, but I think if I have to go the ebay route it will be right there. Why are these things not in stores??

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:54 AM) You need the wii system to go with the wii fit. The wii fit is mainly single player modes and single player games. The competition is generally that you would do something (ski jump) and then your friend/relative would do the same exercise and try and beat your score. Other wii games are multiplayer though. Ive played wii fit a few times, its actually pretty enjoyable and seems that it could even get you in shape if you played it every day and did the different exercises. Sounds like it would be a great fun for them. $500 and it's not even Christmas time is where i'm struggling. Gonna check out eBay. Maybe I'll get lucky. Thanks all. Steff

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:46 AM) Ya, they have to have game counsel. In fact for some reason I always thought Wii fit came with the system (but I'm probably wrong). Well no friggin wonder they want it from us... about $500 buckaroos for everything!!
-
Do they also need to have the wii game console? I thought wii fit was separate and independent, but it looks like they need that.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:14 AM) I think you at least need to nunchuk for some of the excercises, but I dont know that you need any memory card. If you go to nintendo.com they should have the things you need in the game description. From the videos I have seen, it looks like the step board is the most important part of the game OK, thanks. My sister asked for it for a "family gift" as something they could all use so I've got no clue.
-
Is the board and system enough or do I need to get a memory card and another controller? I'm guessing it's mainly an independent thing so can 2 people even play at the same time? TIA Steff

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) It's a blog. We shouldn't give it credence. I think the mods should take it of the board. Makes everybody on here look bad. It's dumb and not true. Some bloggers blog accurately, some bloggers blog s***. I think most here are smart enough to know the difference.

QUOTE (letsgoarow @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/millionaire-...rd-flight-18468 Hopefully this is some media miscommunication. Does not seem like something Mark would do. Im guessing the Dad was joking and the media took it the wrong way. Thoughts? It's a gossip blogger taking liberty, completely. Mark's parents rarely travel to see him play that isn't within driving distance. I'm sure if they wanted to be there, they would have been, and on Mark's dime without hesitation. Mark is a son who would do anything for his father and vice versa.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) If you want to stay up there the whole game and avoid the countless brawls, go on the 2nd level and get a table by the window. You have to pay $5 I think to stay there durring the actual game and have to order drinks and stuff. Cheaper than a skybox though The window seats are reservation only now. My guess is they are booked for that series. Also, if you do the buffet on the first level choose the second seating if you want to hang there longer. And you can not stay the entire game on the first level so you will eventually have to move to the second level bar, or to your seats.

Teen girls get pregnant on purpose, to raise kids together

QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 09:09 AM) The Boy (9 years old) loves those Disney Channel shows, but we felt sometimes they were making him want to grow up faster and be that "cool" teen who is a rock-star, wizard and lives in a hotel. But we have long talks with him about reality vs. TV. Thats all it takes parents...talking and listening to your kids. Both Disney and Nickelodeon seem to have grown up way to fast over the past couple years. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there is no appropriate programming for Bri when she's the Boy's age. BTW, I got the pics of the linebacker!! -

QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 07:52 AM) There seem to be a lot of factors out there, media-wise, forcing young boys and girls to grow up fast. Parents need to get a hold of them and see what they are watching, listening to and what is being marketed to them.. Exactly. Laughter all around at kids blaming movies, tv show, etc... but these kids are at very impressionable ages. If their parents aren't there to explain to them that it's not real life they are watching, they don't know any better and the odds are good they will travel that path. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) I think a part of sex-ed for teen girls should be a full, unedited viewing of a birth without meds, including testimonials about the pain and suffering related to it from the mothers. Maybe that'll work. Seriously though, i'm not one to judge parents (as i'm only 26 and not close to being one yet), but wouldn't this be something you somehow teach your kid - "hey, having babies at 16 just isn't smart...." IMO, It's easy to teach them... it's reinforcing it that's the hard part. "Sex ed" isn't a one time "the birds and the bees" talk as I know a lot of parents who think it is. These days most teens grow up in 2 parent working households and a lot of parents just don't have time to keep track of what their kids are doing. And when you have kids learning about sex from eachother, tv, the internet, or the movies this is what happens. As for making girls watch an unedited (I do believe an edited version is shown in elective sex ed classes), undrugged birth.. that wont do anything. They are smart enough to know that all they have to do is ask for drugs. Besides, the birth is the easy part of the big picture. Forcing them to take care of a newborn for 48 hours with no help would be a better, IMO. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) I can see your guys' points, but I dunno, this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I mean if you're a juror on this case, you don't second guess any motive behind this girl lying, even though she looks incredibly similar? It didn't help that the judge didn't allow the jury to hear that Kelly has paid off four other underage girls who have brought complaints against him. That probably would have helped a little. It also didn't help that the tape, while not manipulated in any way, was s***tier than the s***tiest tape you have ever seen X10. For those of you old enough to remember, think the dirty movie channel scrambled and add on a heavy dose of blizzard snow. And while I didn't personally see it, that is from a reporter who sat in on the trial who saw it all 9 times they played it and said she something new or different each time, so I'm confident with her words. I say he's guilty as sin, and likely did this before hense the other complaining witnesses, but based on the evidence the jury SAW, there's no way they could convict him. The defense knew it from the start and they almost didn't even present a defense they were so confident. A shame, and a very bad taste, but they did what they were supposed to do with what they had to do it.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 12:00 AM) I'd heard that the prosecution had done a really poor job on the case before the verdict came in, so I wasn't that surprised. The girl they claim is on the tape denied it was her on the tape and the only person they could get to say it was her was someone that was proven to have tried to extort money from Kelly.... "a poor job" is an understatement. Not to mention the tape of a tape of a tape.
