  1. Isn't it all "what your supposed to say"...? Until you put on this pair of shoes - and I pray that no one here or anywhere EVER has to - you have no idea how you'd react no matter what you say. And PA, in the big picture it really isn't any different then adoption is it? It's not your bio child, yet do you think you could love it..? And why would the child not be treated normal..? Do children created as a result of rape come out with "child conceived from rape" tatoo'd across their forhead..? How about this one mmmmbeer.. if your daughter was raped by her husband and choose to keep it.. would you love it? Would you stand by your above comment that you would not participate in it's life...? It would be your bio grandchild... If I was raped I honestly have no idea what I would do. But if I did have the child I certiantly wouldn't blame the child for the way it was conceived.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) I doubt she makes much from the White Sox. Organists are a dying breed. I really doubt the Sox will have one after Nancy calls it a day, but with this new arrangement, she's liable to be there another 20 years. I'd bet she makes a lot more than you'd think she would make. Jerry takes care of his loyal followers.
  3. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) I got the impression that the 4th OF'er was going to be Borchard and I support that if it does happen. I think he might get agood look at the CF job too, if Anderson isn't ready. IMO, Borchard should be ready to wipe his own butt before being given a shot at the CF job..
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) People eat alligator, which lives basically in swamps. People eat snake. Look at a lobster some time, or a crab. Ugly things. Suck the slime out of an oyster. Crawfish. Not everything that people eat come prettily packaged in grocery store. Personally, I've sampled rabbit, squirrel, quail, pheasant, duck, buffalo and black bear. Some things were not to my taste, others were fantastic. I don't know what raccon would taste like, but I wouldn't be afraid to try it. No deer YAS..??
  5. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) I doubt anyone would have a major problem with deleting/discouraging posts which mimic immigrant accents. I don't think so either. Stopping the use of "jew" for "you" in Ozzie quotes was done without incident. Most folks around here are respectful when alerted to something offensive.
  6. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) I think it's funny--hey immigrants: learn english! Then it's: Haha, look at how the immigrants speak english.
  7. QUOTE(TornLabrum @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) I've been sitting on this waiting to hear from Nancy, but since the news is out, I'll tell you what I know. I talked to her in December, and she said that she was requesting days only for a couple of reasons: 1) the drive home late at night was starting to become a real bother to her; 2) she feels that the people who come to the park are more "her crowd." The last time I talked to her, she had sent in a counter-offer to the Sox that she felt they would accept. Apparently they did. Hal is definitely the source on this one. Thanks for confirming Hal.
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) Sounds to me like this was her choice, not the Sox pushing her out the door. Exactly what it is.
  9. QUOTE(Shingotime!! @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) now what exactly is a 15 year old doing in middle school? or is middle school the name of highschool in flordia or smthin? IIRC, Middle School is for 7th to 9th graders down there.
  10. My new nephew came into the world yesterday... Thankfully, all is well. 20" long, 6 lbs, 10 oz. And unusually quiet. Here he is with his little sister.. who said upon his arrival.. "thank God you got here.. we thought we were going to miss Soxfest".
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Not only that, but a 3 year old with decaying teeth? Those teeth were a little over a year old, and whats the point of crowning them? They would have fallen out when his adult teeth came in. They could have been decaying for a number of medical reasons - some medications cause teeth to rot - but I agree.. why crown them..? Seems like a lot of expense for the short time they would have been in. Regardless, sounds like the dentist is liable and should be charged. for the family.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) I don't understand how a child can accidentally choke himself without thrasing and waking up his dad. Especially in a two door car. If anything, the father probably left the car (for whatever reason) while his son suffocated. The "sleeping in front seat" allibi sounds false. Someone not related woke him up...?? You can see this happening..? I suppose I could... if the parent was an irresponsible piece of s*** who didn't think it was necessary to watch a 2 year old at all times!
  13. http://www.kcra.com/news/6009943/detail.ht...00408&qs=1;bp=t Civil Lawuit Settled With Parents POSTED: 4:46 pm PST January 11, 2006 UPDATED: 7:43 am PST January 12, 2006 ANTIOCH, Calif. -- The Sacramento County Coroner has ruled the death of a 3-year-old while he was undergoing a dental procedure a homicide. The California Dental Board and the district attorney are now investigating the circumstances of how the boy died last summer in the Delta-area dental office. A dentist who conducted the procedure, William Martin Nielsen, has been practicing and treating patients at his Antioch office during the six months since the death of 3-year-old Rogelio Campos-Crespo, of Brentwood. According to authorities, the little boy was being prepped to have crowns placed on decaying teeth, when something went wrong. The Sacramento County Coroner's report says that "the decedent's nose and mouth were covered by the dentist's hand to calm him, while a 4-by-4 gauze pad or sponge ... was left behind in the mouth," which caused him to smother and likely choke on the gauze pad during the dental procedure. The pad had been left behind in the mouth and acted as a gag, according to the report. The child's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Contra Costa County, alleging negligence. They said the dentist violated the standard of care in a number of ways; including administering anesthesia without closely monitoring the patient and without having personnel certified in basic life support, and by covering the mouth and nose when the child was having respiratory distress or cardiac arrest. The case was settled out of court; and the agreement is confidential. Rogelio's parents cannot talk about the case or settlement. Meanwhile, the district attorney could pursue criminal charges, and the state could act on the dentist's license. Nielsen has been licensed to practice for more than 30 years in California. He has had no disciplinary action. When contacted by KCRA 3 Tuesday, his office said Nielsen was busy. He did not return the call. The dental board is investigating the case and will discuss with the attorney general whether to suspend or revoke Nielsen's license, or take no action. The dentist has a special license to perform oral sedation, but the civil lawsuit alleges that he didn't have the right equipment, and his people didn't have the right training to do the procedure. The district attorney expects to get the case later this week and determine if criminal charges are warranted. Crowns on a 3 year old...???
  14. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/.../printstory.jsp By ANGELA TABLAC [email protected] A nearly 2-year-old Miramar boy died Thursday after his head was trapped between the window and roof of a car parked in front of a Hollywood medical building. His father was asleep in the front seat. Hollywood police said Thomaris Waite, who would have turned two next week, was in the back seat of a two-door white Chevrolet Monte Carlo, in the parking lot next to Pediatrics Associates at 4500 Sheridan St. His mother and a sibling were inside the building. The car was not running, but the ignition was partially on, allowing the radio and electric windows to operate. Shortly after 4 p.m., the boy apparently stuck his head out the back passenger window and inadvertently pressed the electric window switch, causing the window to go up, police said. ''He pretty much suffocated,'' Capt. Tony Rode said. A patient leaving the building saw the toddler's head trapped between the window and the roof and pounded on the window to wake up the father, 25-year-old Thomas Waite, police said. The child, who was not breathing, was taken into the medical building and later transported to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, where he died. ''It appears to be nothing more than a tragic accident,'' Rode said. Police continue to investigate the incident, and autopsy results are pending. A tragic accident.. a tragic ACCIDENT...??? :headshake

  16. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) Hmm I dind't know that treating everyone equally is being racist.. Heck you learn something new everyday... Cross reference from the Ozzy Jr thread. Sorry for the confusion. I'll dumb it down a bit..
  17. Maywood is so damn corrupt.. :headshake He should not have settled, IMO. And the assholes that sat on their asses should get their asses kicked.
  18. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) Pfffft. What an IDIOT! I don't know if he's at idiot level.. but there's no longer a doubt where he learned the racist behavior.
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) . FYI.. Get over yourself, your about as funny as having a bad case of diarrea. As long as you stop being a b****.. truce.. f*** off.
  20. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) Wow, coming from you.. How could I expect anything less than at of a 8 year old? Well.. In my defense I have been reading mostly your bulls*** posts today which has put me in the right mindset to respond in a manner you could comprehend. Now... do you want to continue to act like an asshole and take the snippy comment for what it was, a joke, and move on.. or would you like me to put my nasty b**** hat on?

  24. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) Yeah, howard had calls from Alaska, Montana, Iowa...and these people love the radio, since now they have all this programing, in the middle of nowhere. Sirius I think got the first big crowd drawer. XM is great too...the draw between the two is the premium programming. Most of the music choices are pretty similar. I think they both had huge drawers. XM with MLB (giving away free radio's helped also) and Sirius with Stern. Time will tell obviously.
  25. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) Sirius and XM will each create unique or niche programming that may or may not attract a given market segement. They both will do well. I think there bigger market is not around the big cities but in small markets like this that has 1 rock station, 1 easy listening, etc. I have both and enjoy both for different reasons.
