Good grief.. this simply blows my mind. :headshake http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/06/16/serial.mo...n.ap/index.html Authorities suspect crimes in numerous states, countries Friday, June 17, 2005 Posted: 3:32 AM EDT (0732 GMT) SAN JOSE, California (AP) -- A convicted child molester jailed in California may have committed sex crimes against thousands of victims, police said Thursday after finding computers, notebooks and meticulous, handwritten lists of boys' names and apparent codes for various sex acts. San Jose Police Lt. Scott Cornfield described 63-year-old Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller as "one of the most active child molesters we've ever seen." During a search of his bedroom in San Jose, police discovered binders full of child porn and numerous logs with lists of more than 36,000 children's names -- mostly boys -- and codes that appear to indicate how he abused them. "If one-tenth of these numbers are accurate, we're looking at hundreds of victims in a number of states. The reason we want to tell the world about this is because we believe he's been involved in child molestations in a number of countries," Cornfield said. Schwartzmiller was being held without bail on one count of aggravated sexual assault on a child and six counts of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child, with each count alleging multiple victims. He was arrested in Washington state late last month and sent to San Jose on June 7. A message left for his public defender was not immediately returned Thursday. Authorities said Schwartzmiller apparently gained the trust of victims and parents by working as a home renovation contractor. San Jose police got involved after he allegedly befriended at least two boys in the city with gifts, invited them to his house for video games and movies, and molested them. Schwartzmiller apparently did not register as a sex offender, so his history did not appear in the "Megan's Law" databases in California or other states, authorities said. "It's as shocking to me as to you," said Sgt. Tom Sims, a supervisor with the department's child exploitation division. "I've never seen anything like this." Although police said Schwartzmiller appears to have spent much of the past 30 years in California, he has been arrested on child molestation charges in New York, Arkansas and Washington. He also served prison time in Idaho for child molestation in the late 1970s, and is wanted in Oregon on sexual assault charges involving a minor. In the 1980s, he lived in Brazil, and was extradited from there to Idaho again in the later part of the decade to serve more time, Cornfield said. Police believe he may have victims in Brazil and Mexico. Authorities also arrested Schwartzmiller's roommate, another convicted child molester wanted for violating parole in Oregon. Fred Everts was charged with child molestation in San Jose. In a separate case, Edilberto Datan, a 61-year-old San Diego man who has admitted to traveling to his native Philippines and having sex with eight underage boys, was sentenced Thursday to 17 years in federal prison and lifetime supervision. The retired auditor for the California Department of Real Estate was arrested in 2004 at the airport in Los Angeles upon his return from the Philippines. Authorities said they found about 150 sexually explicit images of 18 teenage boys in his luggage and digital camera. Eight of the children were identified and located. Prayers for everyone involved..

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/06/17...egal/index.html Ketchup stain sparks e-mail flurry Friday, June 17, 2005 Posted: 7:01 AM EDT (1101 GMT) LONDON, England -- An e-mail exchange between a law firm executive and a secretary over a ketchup stain has set London's legal world buzzing. The details were forwarded across the city after Richard Phillips, a senior associate at Baker & McKenzie, sent a message to secretary Jenny Amner. The exchange appears to refer to her spilling ketchup on Phillips' trousers and who should pay the cleaning bill, UK's Press Association reported. The first e-mail, which Phillips sent on May 25, said: "Hi Jenny. I went to a dry cleaners at lunch and they said it would cost £4 to remove the ketchup stains. If you cd let me have the cash today, that wd be much appreciated." On June 3, Amner replied: "With reference to the e-mail below, I must apologize for not getting back to you straight away but due to my mother's sudden illness, death and funeral I have had more pressing issues than your £4. "I apologize again for accidentally getting a few splashes of ketchup on your trousers. Obviously your financial need as a senior associate is greater than mine as a mere secretary." She wrote that she had told various partners, lawyers and trainees about his e-mail and they had offered to "do a collection" to raise the cash. "I however declined their kind offer but should you feel the urgent need for the £4, it will be on my desk this afternoon." Subsequently the e-mail exchange was forwarded across the legal world, with comments added questioning Phillips' generosity. On June 15, one respondent to the e-mails wrote: "Judging by the names, this was around the whole legal city by now." In a statement Thursday night, Baker & McKenzie said: "We confirm we are aware of the incident and subsequent e-mail exchange. "This is a private matter between two members of staff that clearly got out of hand. We are investigating so as to resolve it as amicably as we can. "As I am sure you understand we respect the privacy of our staff and make it a policy not to comment on individuals to the media."

And than its just basically accross from armour park or whatever its called? Right.. that's the only exit for the Cell. Then yes.. right on the other side of the park. We'll be on the patio.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) So was he serious that Buerhle is going to get traded? Claims like that sound like bulls*** to me, and I actually stated that I "file it under 'bulls***'" rather than saying it was all complete bulls***... Oye... Forget it.
-
"No offense..." followed with calling those people's words "bulls***" makes the "no offense" seem not so sincere... JMOO..

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) I'll need to call you to figure out how to get there from the hotel. Once Jason makes it to the hotel I'll call you. Lord help us... LOL. If you're taking the train it's simple. Just call me.. I'm leaving work at noon to run some errands then heading to Jimbo's..

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) So you believed that guy on the other site who would say he'd get calls at the airport or something to that effect? I'm referring more to those kinds of things, but I tend to not fully believe most all of it just to be on the safe side. LMAO.. no. I would not believe someone who said Kenny was talking about a deal on his cell phone while waiting for his luggage. But when someone posts that they've heard something from a player that can be confirmed, or in Jim's case something from talking to Ken or Rick, or in Mikster's case the details about Freddy and Urbina.. then I know it's fact. I guess your shot at Killa - who knows "people" - rubbed me the wrong way. But you don't really know him so I guess you wouldn't know he's credible.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Thanks for the insight. I have not, therefore I will continue to be skeptical. I am sure you yourself have seen false claims made here and especially on other Sox sites. I definitely wasn't singling out administrators, but I still gotta see it to believe it. Seeing as how I introduced most of them... it's pretty easy to believe them. Actually.. I see a lot of rumors... but I don't really ever see someone claim they know someone here, or on WSI, that they know will be checked out and confirmed or called bulls***. The benefit of knowing people and others knowing that I guess.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) You never know... Actually.. I do know. Seeing them talking to people in person is pretty convincing.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Some people are just too cool for green. Regardless, it applies to any and all sources I've been hearing about lately... LMAO.. yea.. the Admins here are all full of bulls***.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Steff, what time are you guys starting the tailgate? Jason and Alex are meeting us at Jimbo's if all goes as planned and then we'll head over there at 5 when the gates open.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) The best rep of all time was Brad. He was promoted. I think he does large groups. He would call you every now and then just to see how things were going. Since he left, I think its been 3 seasons now, I have never received a call from my rep despite numerous messages to call me. I never got e-mails. The only thing I would ever receive were the invoices. Brad Dreher.. Group and Party Sales.. he was our rep for a short time. Just talked to him today as a matter of fact. Very nice guy.. never ages.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) needless to say I miss my old rep, she was the queen of 10 minute response time. Ahhh. Sam is corporate now but he kept some of his long tenure accounts on. He takes a bit longer to respond sometimes since he's usually not in his office. But usually always the same day or he calls us at home.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) I usually bank on Joe taking about 2-5 days responding to my e-mails, I wish I worked there, I would have it down to 5 minutes flat. Yikes.. days..? If I don't get an email back within a few hours I call.

8 miles deep... Is that normal?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Mine for all 3 games is $28. I bet you have upper reserved for Sat and Sun. I know what it is.. Friday's are in the purple and Sat & Sun are in the pink a bit further down the line.

Apparently you guys are being told not to use your phones...??? What's up with that?

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Ahh yes, just like how dogs here that high-pitched s*** that humans can't? Right. LMAO.. another strange turn to a thread. Don't ya just love off days..
